There is definitely a phenomena where people try SO hard to avoid anthropomorphism they end up looping around into this quasi-religious stance that humans have some essential non-biological quality that sets us apart from other animals. Like being so cautious about how you describe emotion experienced by a nonhuman animal that you go "that animal is not 'happy' it's just demonstrating a response to positive stimuli and receiving chemical reward signals" as if that's not also what human emotion is at the fundamental level.

On this day, 20 July 1925, Frantz Omar Fanon, psychiatrist, revolutionary and pioneering anti-colonialist theorist was born in the French colony of Martinique. Fanon served in the Free French Army during World War II in North Africa, and like many Black colonial troops, experienced racism. Living in Algeria he supported the independence movement until he was forced to leave the country, at which point he became an ambassador for the Algerian National Liberation Front. His seminal works include 'Black Skin, White Masks' 'The Wretched of the Earth', and focused not just on the politics and economics of colonialism but also its internal and psychological effects. silver is so fuckable in s2 bc flint wants to fuck him. he pressed that dude against the wall and put a knife to his throat and found out he was actually being smart and his dick got naturally hard for the first time in 10 years. the only reason he didnt proposition silver is bc he knows silver is a liar and a thief and could 100% blackmail him so instead flint allows there to be this very thick sexual tension in the hopes that Silver will crack and do something about it. alas. silver is insane.
