Every time I open a pack of small signs, I get a bunch of rubber bands and I don’t have any use for them. So, I decided to make a rubber band ball with them.
Penny for scale
It’s taking a while, but it’s getting bigger
On Anon hate
Fun fact: if you tell somebody to kill themselves, and they do, you can go to jail!
don’t send anon hate. it’s not cool.
Someone's trying to follow me and my mom home, Jesus Christ this is terrifying
Ok, just pulled into a fire station.
Word of advice, if someone tries to flag you down on a highway, pointing to the back of your car, there isn’t anything wrong. They want to kill you. Never stop for them.
They may try to pin you in a lane on the highway. They won’t let you get ahead of them, they will try to prevent you from getting behind them. Fuck traffic laws. Gun it, throw on your brakes, honk your horn and do not stop. get away from them at all costs. Don’t go home, go to the police or go to a fire station. Explain what happened and have them look over ur car.
Reblog this around. Seems like common sense, but also not something that can happen to everyone.
I was on the I-5 in Washington State. The van was white, with blacked out windows. There was graffiti or something on the right side of the van, but I was too scared to read it.
Everyone please be safe, if you are in the Puyallup or Tacoma area, please be even more careful.
If you need to pull over, if possible, take the nearest exit and park somewhere well lit with people around. Gas stations, other 24/7 locations.
If a cop’s got their lights on and are trying to pull you over, put your hazards on, pull to the right lane, and slowly drive somewhere public. You can use your cell to call 911, confirm it’s really a cop behind you, reassure the operator you’re just pulling over somewhere safe because you don’t trust the shoulder of the highway etc.
This happened to my mom in DC in the 70's. A strange man was watching her pump gas at the station and she noticed him driving behind her afterwards. She experimented to be sure he was following her. She made a random right and then left turn and he kept up. So, when she got to her homestreet she kept driving and desperately looked for a gas station where she was friendly with the guys there. A group a black guys she knew in passing worked there. Well, once she got there, she said she hopped out of the care in a panic and told them what was happening... So at least three of them went out front and yelled "HEY, MAN!" and the guy sped off. But it's not over yet. They told my mom to hang out for awhile because the man could still be lurking. Since one of them would be getting off soon and would follow to make sure (the knew his make and model and the plates). Sure enough... The man WAS waiting a little ways down the road at a grocery store to start following again... Dude honked a cut a fuss and again he sped off. My mom went to the police station afterwards (the gas station dud vouched for her and gave a description of the guy). So BOTH cars followed my mom home and the station sent a care out to watch her apartment that night. My mom never saw that guy that was following her again, but she is certain he was determined to do her harm at her apartment.
Guys, if a car follows you:
DO NOT GO HOME!
GO TO THE NEAREST POLICE STATION/FIRE STATION!
This has been happening a lot more recently in the Seattle/Tacoma area
If you can't get to one of these, get your ass to a liquor store. Thanks to robbery and drunk folks, people who work at liquor stores know exactly how to put the place on lockdown and the cops will get there damn fast if they're called.
It’s fucking scary that we even have to share this information around. Reblog to save a life.
This has way too many notes and is a sad commentary on society but continue to share this information. Spread it around!
Whenever I open (another gas station) there's always someone trying to get in at 4:30. We open at 5. :/
I remember when a guy in a wheelchair was angrily beating our door to be let in at 6:50 when we opened at 7. We now open at 8, so he must be beyond pissed now lol
I have a lot of question 😳 https://www.instagram.com/p/B5UilRcl5g8Lk69xcqsA47C_34yfi0gzFlchGE0/?igshid=1cvaojl5ua30d
Meanwhile I have to do this just to get to work on time smh
yall look at this shit ad*be is tryna pull now on ppl who have outdated software:
(note for context: i’m all for piracy, but in this case my copy of CS6 was downloaded years ago when they were giving it away to students. i got it totally legally.)
so here is what NOT to do if you’re a loyal fan of adobe who has the cash to shell out for a newer and shittier version of the product you already paid for.
1) DON’T use your search bar to find and open the Run app
2) DON’T type in services.msc
3) DON’T find Adobe Genuine Software Integrity Services and right-click to get a dropdown menu, and don’t select ‘properties’
4) if you happen to click properties, DON’T use the startup type dropdown to locate the option to disable the program. be sure you DON’T click apply to finalize that change.
5) DO NOT do the same thing in order to also disable Adobe Genuine Software Monitor
if you do all of these things, this WILL disable adobe’s ability to monitor the software, and you will be forced to continue using the same older software that you already paid for instead of having to sign up for a newer, shittier version and pay more for it. so if you have lots of cash to spare and are cool with putting it the pockets of racketeering capitalists, definitely don’t do any of these things.
however, you SHOULD reblog this to spread the word, as we certainly want to make sure lots of people know what NOT to do :)
I’M SORRY MA'AM. I KNOW YOU’RE UPSET.
Pretend to be upset.
OP how could you
I hope none of my friends who use Adobe programs find this, follow your detailed instructions, and spread the word. That would be devastating!
people being pretentious asking why the poor people of the USA aren’t doing a general strike or a revolt like other countries. ma’am our government has drones.
I remember seeing protests happening in France or smth and people were asking why Americans couldn't do the same thing....ma'am our police will gun us down and face zero consequences
Ma’am are you aware of the 1985 Philadelphia bombing
Or the Tulsa Massacre of 1921
Literally in 2014,the army came out cause we were in groups asking not to get killed by the police
It’s also hard to strike without a strike fund, aka, a way to keep all the strikers fed and not evicted for failure to pay rent while striking. It’s also hard to organize a strike when everyone who would be involved in it is exhausted from being overworked. In the US, so many people are already so used to shitty treatment that the point at which they snap and start to revolt is much, much higher than it is in other countries. The US successfully normalized feeling dehumanized at your place of work decades ago, and people don’t tend to revolt against what they think of as normal. Also, yeah, it can get you murdered.
There are also places where it’s illegal to strike, or where it’s illegal for certain workers to strike. (Like government employees, for example.)
And despite all of that, there are brave people striking! A lot of teachers have been striking in a lot of places over the last two years - most recently in Chicago. There are
The US isn’t the only country that’s had horrific anti-union violence, and several of those countries now have MUCH BETTER LABOR LAWS because people kept fighting and didn’t give up.
Keep fighting, support strikes, join a union, and vote for people who will actually regulate the massive corporations and keep them from doing whatever they want. It’s not going to change overnight, but nothing’s going to change for the better if people just give up.
Street harassment is not a compliment.
Did i reblog this already? Doesnt matter still relevant.
Things You Do That Make Your Cashier Hate You
(Taken from personal experience at my job, where I work as a cashier)
1. Leaving your little hand basket of groceries on the belt for them to empty instead of emptying it yourself. If you can empty your cart, you can empty the basket.
2. Paying with a check at the express register. You’re seriously going to go into the lane that’s supposed to be the fastest and then use the form of payment that takes the longest? Wtf is wrong with you?
3. Asking for your groceries to be bagged in paper bags inside plastic bags. Don’t give me that ‘it’s sturdier/easier to carry’ bullshit. If you’re worried about our plastic bags breaking then just ask us to double the bags. Or bring reusable ones! Bagging groceries in paper inside plastic is so counter productive, takes forever, and is a general pain in the ass.
4. Being super vague about what cigarettes you want. If you want Marlboro Menthol 100’s, THEN TELL ME THATS WHAT YOU WANT! Dont just ask for Marlboro 100’s and wait until the cashier comes back with them to say ‘no I want the green ones’. If you want menthol SAY SO THE FIRST TIME.
5. Demanding help when we are literally unable to help you. Yes, I know you’re self checkout register is having an issue. But don’t demand I go on the intercom and page someone just because it’s been a whole 30 seconds and you haven’t been helped yet. Just be patient, someone will notice your registers flashing light and come help as soon as they can.
6. Coming up to us and asking for something or the location of an item while we are in the middle of helping someone else. It’s rude as fuck.
7. Trying to get around sale/coupon stipulations because they aren’t specifically stated the way you think they should be. You’re being stupid.
8. Reaching around the register to scan your own store card. It is literally the cashiers job to do that. Hand it to them or hold it up for them to scan with the handheld scanner.
9. CASHIER: *is not actively serving someone for 10 seconds* ASSHOLE CUSTOMER: Hey you look bored! I guess I’ll come give you something to do!“
10. Even THINKING the word ‘free’ when an item doesn’t scan correctly or doesnt have a price/barcode.
-other cashiers feel free to add more-
Having your card get denied, say you will come back with cash, and then never coming back. Especially if you have more than one buggy full

So I have a really old story from when I first started my job as a cashier.
So, I thought that it was about time I posted it somewhere. It’s not a very long story but it’s entertaining and infuriating nonetheless.
This was three years ago, I had just finished my training and it was a really busy day at the store. Everyone has their food stamps and are rushing to get the groceries they need so the store was packed. Keep in mind that this is a small store in the rural south, so a lot of people in the area come to this store to buy a lot of groceries. It is also not unusual for people to buy a months worth of groceries at a time.
So anyways, I had just finished ringing up a few customers with small orders when a lady with a child in a cart, another older child pushing another two carts, and a man with another two carts come along. The lady says that they were all together and I was shocked. This lady had five overflowing carts of food. The carts looked similar to the picture below.
She then asked if we take food stamps and checks. I tell her yes, call for backup, and begin to ring up her stuff. My backup was a guy who had trained me and had been at the store a lot longer, so he was faster at ringing things up. To make the story easier to follow, we’ll call him Conner. Well Conner takes one look at this family’s groceries and immediately takes over and makes me bag. We had rang up about 2 of her carts and I began to get a bit overwhelmed. Conner was scanning really fast and I could barely keep up. I ended up panicking and I accidentally set a bag of cans too close to her bag of chips. This seemingly calm lady loses it. She screams something along the lines of, “My chips!! They are going to get crushed!! I don’t want to eat crumbs!! How dare you! I want new chips and a different bagger! This one clearly doesn’t know what she’s doing!!!” Like I said this was three years ago so I don’t remember every word. Conner calms her down while I get her new bags of chips (even though the chips she had before where just fine). He then tries to calm me down and we start ringing up her groceries again. There were no other problems until she tries to pay.
Her total was something close to $1000. So, she pay about $500 of it using her food stamp card. No problems there. Then she writes a check for the remainder. Again no big deal, except the checks bounces almost immediately after we put it through the check machine. Conner tells her that we cannot take her check, it’s not authorized. She’s clearly angry but her husband (I assume that’s what the man was) gives her a begging look that clearly says, “please don’t cause another scene.” She huffs then says in a condescending tone, “I don’t have any other way to pay. Are you sure you can’t take the check?”
Conner: “Yes ma’am, I’m sure that we cannot take the check. Our system will not let us.”
Lady: “Well I want to speak to your manager!”
Conner calls one of our managers over. The manager confirms that we cannot take her check. She gets angry again.
Lady: “Well I have no other way to pay! I left my debit card at home! I can’t just leave everything here and come back!”
Manager: “Actually you can. We will refund your money back onto your food stamp card and hold onto your groceries until you come back. We will then re-ring it all up and let you pay.”
She’s happy again, we refund her money, and she leaves without her stuff while promising to return with her debit card. We put the stuff in the back and continued with our day.
The lady never comes back.
We have to put all of the groceries back. All three of the managers, plus two stock guys, were trying to put it all back as quickly as they could. Needless to say, they were beyond angry that they had to do this on top of everything else that they had to do.
We never saw that lady or her family again.
To all of my rude customers
