The night is my time.

The days are for obligations. Be it class, be it work, or even friends. I can like them, but it still takes time from my day.

The afternoons are for obligatjons. Be it class, or gym, and all the little mundane things like dinner and planning. The evenings can strech to fit the same, especially in the winter when the daylight is gone all the sooner.

The night is for me and it is infinate until it isnt, until its too late and you have to get up early in the morning and its already too early in the morning.

Ffvi characters story

For OC inserts, and interpretation.

This was about an Alternative world of ffvi in the inspired by an AU fanfic where the AU was off the charts. Uses some headcanons and alternative interpretations I saw online.

Roxey McCloud has vision. This can mean foreknowledge of events, as much as it means shaping them. Often it takes the form of Naming People. She has training in swimming,   guns (her mother practiced  and taught her too), and small boats (row, canoe and sail)

Jara Muyozaki  is more of an empath. He learns from the feelings of those around him, and can base his reactions off of that.

Terra Branford: a time travelling half esper, who made herself by falling in love with her mother, and impregnating her with her child clone. At least according to Roxy. How else would Terra remember an event she wasn't born for. Her Amnesia must mean the soul transfer is recent.

Celes "Kutan" Chere: is secretly1. A double agent. 2. An Opera singer. 3. A moogle. She is clearly an expert infiltrator.

Alternatively, Opera singing is a sign of high class to the imperials, and all the higher ups are trained in it.  Imagine Leo singing his way to the top, or Klefas opera not being good enough for his men to respect.

Red in My Hero Academia

I was trying to puzzle out his angle, for Reds reaction to Native from MHA

On one hand it could be interesting for him to be of native decent and trying to connect to his lost culture.

On the other hand, it seems far more likley for him to have just taken inspiration for his name and costume from the phase he was going through on America's at the time. 

Leading to Red walking in and going to Stain "look I understand being upset with his disgusting cultural appropriation and misrepresentation, but I'm not sure that is a crime worthy of murder." 

She's torn on Stain. On one hand, she's killed enough people that getting upset about murder should make her a hypocrite, and overall she ends with mixed feelings on it. On that hand, she can understand reasonings behind murder. She doesn't disagree with Stain's ideals, and he may have a point about some of the hero's he has killed. 

On the other hand, his reasonings behind some of the victims are just baffling. He's probably insane. She should disagree with serial murderers on principal, but she comes from a world with assassin's and templars. He seems like he could have been one in another life. Also, what is appropriate punishment for cultural appropriation? Murder seems extreme, but it would probably get it to stop …

And been thinking. 

Red adopts all the Todoroki family, and takes them on training trips, except Endeavor. And  Toya, who is still Dabi (sadly) (because I love that theory). Being  "timeless" (and therefore having a lot of influence even though contreversal), is why she gets away with it. Therefore the kids (and Rei) learn a lot of languages, meet a lot of people, and have a lot of new experiences. 

Shoto is her apprentice of course, so she spends the most time with him, and they go off on their own for training. 

Still, it changes them. 

Natso is still (working) to become a doctor, but also offers his services to anyone injured who is in his house when he gets home (Viglinaites mostly). He has a quirk more on the ice side. 

Fyumi becomes a Viglinaite by night, teacher by day. Super protective of her students. She's not one who does a lot of cases, because she spends time reserching. She mostly specializes in abuse cases. Not sure where to go with her quirk yet. 

Rei becomes an information searcher. 

So these siblings are in order "a villian, a Viglinaite, a doctor, and a hero." 

Shoto does figure out Dabi is his brother (he puts stuff together, as Izuku is the illigitimate son of All might is not a bad guess for one not in the loop) and reveals it to Dabi during a league attack. It throws him in a loop, and nets him victory, even if he escapes later. 

Shoto later invites him to the family hunting trip, and they bond over setting undead on fire. 

None of this is set in stone to happen, more playing with ideas, but God now that it's been said I want Viglinaite Fyumi

Was thinking about Red in "my hero academia", you might have seen, and red going "does it need to be murder? Wouldn't maiming and making the information very publicly available be a better way to make the point of your philosophy? That way the case stays in public attention longer, and they can't become matyers to the public, by living to regret it" to Stain.

I want Red to debate philosophy while having a sword fight, both stalling for time, and genuinely liking the battles.

While I am having wish fulfilment, I want Red to get Stain involved in taking down the Japanese Mafia, with a bunch of Viglinaites and underground hero's, and have him and Shota Azaiwa take down overhaul, and Eri imprints on him. 

Eri has two dads now, Dadzawa and Murder Dad

And the Todoroki family (minus Endeavor) are hunters. 

Dabi gets invited to the family bonding activity of setting the undead on fire.

Maybe she can't save her own, but she sure can try for her students. 

Honestly though, Fyumi was probably Shotos closest sibling, given the Wiki says she tried her best to fill in for mom. And Natso would probably have a stronger bond with Touya. 

Red is working at getting the hero students to question the system

She does spend time picking at Izuku and Bakugo for different reasons. 

Bakugo because she doesn't understand what he is doing in the hero industry, beyond being the sort of hero stain might kill. 

Izuku beacuse... He's almights successor, anyone could see that, but she hates how despite his belief, he never did anything to try to achieve his dream before quirk besides analysis.

Yah she's kind of being unfair. A lot of people have put effort into training her, and she has her clans drive for quality. Also, it's life or death. 

Still. Wanting to be a hero. Dreaming of it. 

But not putting the work in to apply it.

Yes you were quirkless. But you had the brains to do something with it if only you tried. You could have gone Into medicine, it building, or support, or detective work. You had a lot of possibilities. Quirks are not the be all or end all of potential. You make that chance work for you. Yes it's hard. It's meant to be hard.

Or go Viglanties . You could have made a good one. Maybe you wouldn't have been everyone's hero, but you would have been someone's. And being someone's personal hero, is enough. Its sometimes more rewarding than being everyone's, because it is personal. 

Don't tell me there was nothing you could do. There are always options. 

But instead you dreamed, and waited."

She has a point though. I really wanna see Red takes on societies treatment of quirkless.

K:-If he wanted to be a hero so bad, why didn't he put any work into it, beyond obsessing over what other people have?

His classmates think it's a weird idiosyncrasies, until the computer does what he asks, and gives him the forage of the school's cameras. Then they like WTF!!

Aizawa Shota is in the know of Timeless and they are friends of a sort. 

He just feels too tired to deal with all of her drama and BS.

On a different note, Natsu and Fyumi have animal hunting partners. 

Fyumi has a dog named after an female princess who rebelled, boudica ,and Natsu has a hawk named buttercup, after princess Buttercup of princess bride.

Its said in hawker lore, that the less threatening a name a hawk has, the better a hunter they are.

I really have no patience for posts talking about "adults who only watch kids' cartoons," because, like...people accuse me of "only watching kids' cartoons," despite all evidence to the contrary. It doesn't matter how much I talk about other adult media I like, if I post too many things in a row about Steven Universe or The Dragon Prince or The Owl House, people come out of the goddamn woodwork to accuse me of "only watching kids' shows."

So I really can't take people seriously when they start talking about the supposed "problem" of "adults who only watch kids' shows." Are the "adults who only watch kids' cartoons" in the room with us right now, or are you basing your entire opinion of people solely on their fandom blog? Like, come on.

It makes me think of the couple years I spent volunteering in a school library. The librarian talked a lot about how it's hurtful to enforce "reading at grade-level" on every student with no nuance. Teachers would try to force their students to check out books "at proper grade-level," instead of letting students pick out whatever they wanted (even if it was "too easy"), and it resulted in a lot of students deciding books were boring, too hard, and only good for making them feel stupid. They started to hate reading entirely, because people constantly shut them down and told them they were stupid for not reading the right things. This was especially brutal on disabled students.

I personally apply the same philosophy to adults. You don't know what someone might struggle with, you don't know what someone's history is. You might think a piece of media is "too simple," but that's your experience and your opinion. People learn and grow and experience the world at different paces, and what seems to you like a "simplistic" piece of media may be the most complex, illuminating piece of media someone else has ever had the opportunity to experience. It doesn't make them "stupid" or "childish," and believing that it does is cruel and counterproductive. You cannot wield shame as a fucking cudgel if your goal is education, support, and helping people expand their horizons.

I don't think a culture of shame is helpful. I don't think a culture of "if you like 'childish' things, it means you're too stupid for anything else" is helpful. I don't think constantly making fun of children's media does anything other than demean people--and not just the people who enjoy it, but the people who make it, too.

Coldest hot take that ever took, but if people can understand the meaning of the word "nostalgia" and the sentiment of "god, remember when we were kids and our biggest worry in the world was whether we could have ice cream for dessert after dinner?", then they should be able to understand the urge to consume something that hearkens back to a time when the world seemed simpler (it never was, you just had adults taking over lots of shit for you and shielding you from the worst, ideally). A time when it was good enough for you to just exist and have fun and maybe learn about the importance of courage and friendship and kindness.

Also, I think a lot of the stigma around adults consuming media for kids is that puritanical panic around "but what if these adults are gonna corrupt/groom/abuse our kids???" to which all I can say is:

1) adults who want to do that will find a way to do it even without watching My Little Pony or Steven Universe or whatever.

2) Not every adult who consumes media for kids is a pedo. See the entire topic of this post.

3) You SHOULD want your kids to interact in spaces where there are adults around as well, because learning how to interact with people who are not the same age/ethnicity/affiliation as you is actually a really important life skill.

4) It will help them learn what healthy interactions with adult strangers look like, which will make it easier for them to notice when an interaction is not healthy (e.g. why is this one user so eager to get a picture of what I'm wearing today, none of the others have ever asked me for that).

5) By having adult strangers around that are not affiliated with their parents in any way, they will have someone to reach out to in case they are actually, in real life, being groomed or abused by someone they don't trust to report to their parents (e.g. dad's best friend, mom's sister, the teacher both their parents get along with so well, etc.)

"Fun" trivia: Many years ago, my mom and I used to be part of a massive anime forum/art posting site where the average age was something like 13 or so, and thanks to both of us commenting on art work a lot, we became "that one nice lady who always says what she likes about my art" and eventually "the one nice lady who's been nice enough for long enough that I want to DM her". And you would not believe the sheer amount of kids we ran into who lived in very troubled (and sometimes seriously dangerous) homes, who did not feel safe talking to their parents and who sometimes had no frame of reference for how stuff that RL adults did to them was wrong until they interacted with us in comments and DMs and realized what healthy interactions with adults at a respectful distance looked like.

Trying to remove adults who are not being creeps from fandoms for media for kids helps exactly no one other than the actual creeps who will simply pretend that they are 12 themselves.

I get that you're like. Coming from a good place with this. But this misses the entire point of the original post.

1. Saying "not every adult who consumes media for kids is a pedophile" is. Huh. Why are we bringing pedophilia into this discussion? Why are we saying "not every" as if a good chunk of adults who watch cartoons ARE pedos??? Adults watching cartoons shouldn't make you think of pedophilia - if it does, those who call people pedos/groomers for being queer or neurodivergent have won a little bit. They've planted their dogma in your mind.

2. This isn't about nostalgia. My childhood was fucking hell and didn't involve a lot of media, it involved being locked out of the house at age five. Steven Universe came out when I was 22, and I had never seen anything like it - aside from some Adventure Time, which came out when I was 19. These shows were entirely a new thing in this medium and genre, and had no nostalgic impact. They are simply good stories.

This is about how this media is GOOD and also ACCEPTABLE FOR ANY AGE. Stories can be good whether they're aimed at kids or not. There are so many amazing stories out there rated Y-7 thru R/NC-17 that are amazing regardless of their rating or genre. It's great and good to love stories, regardless of their rating or genre. It's weird and insecure to think it's cringe to like stories of any sort. You don't need nostalgia to enjoy a good story aimed at young people.

And you definitely shouldn't be bringing up pedophilia in these discussions, even in defense of the topic. Because it literally has zero correlation, and "not every" really chapped my ass. Some of us spent our childhoods dealing with assault from people who didn't give a shit about cartoons, not getting to watch cartoons. Don't bring that up in correlation ever again. Perhaps I was not clear enough in my original reblog, but I think you may have misunderstood several points of my post.

I was not trying to invalidate anything about the OP or miss its point--I was adding onto it, because for some adults who enjoy media for children, nostalgia is part of the appeal. I am sorry that the nature of your childhood meant that this could not be the case for you, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a factor for some, including for me. Your experiences are not universal, and neither are mine.

Personally, I occasionally rewatch cartoons from my childhood because they take me back to "simpler times". I occasionally watch shows or movies like them, designed for kids, even today as a grown adult long out of childhood, because there is something comforting for me in enjoying a well-made show/movie that focuses on the core messages we try to instill in future generations in terms that nobody can miss: be brave, be understanding, be kind, make friends.

The reason why I went into the second topic of my post (the stigma around adults consuming media for kids being puritanical panic around the potential of adults corrupting or hurting kids if they engage with the fandom) is because this is precisely the reasoning I see flung around most often by other people as criticism of adults who are in fandoms for child media or who enjoy media for children.

Gonna repeat that again: BY OTHER PEOPLE. I do not agree with that take.

I cannot count the many times I have either received asks myself, or have had mutuals receive asks, saying we should not be in fandoms X, Y, Z, because a grown adult enjoying stuff for children is creepy.

I was pushing back on said argument, to state why it is, in fact, beneficial to have people of multiple age ranges enjoying the same thing, precisely because it is the argument I most frequently had people try to wield against me and my mutuals.

I WISH I had no need to bring it up. I WISH that sentiment (that all adults who enjoy stuff for kids or are hanging out in fandoms for said media are creeps) did not exist, but it does, and so I decided to address it, before anybody tries to jump into my ask box and go "hurgh, hurgh, that post you reblogged about how we shouldn't shame adults for enjoying media for kids--do you not realize what massive creeps you are?"

You also grossly misinterpreted what I meant by "not every". "Not every" does not automatically mean "a good chunk" or "most". It means "not 100%". At no point, did I make any statement about how many percent of adults who enjoy kids media or enjoy hanging out in fandoms about kids media may be abusers, but I did acknowledge that they exist, because they do. They do exist in kids media fandoms, as they do in any sphere of life where kids may be present. So let me state this clearly for the record: In my experience, it is an incredibly small number, but it is not 0%. It is also not 100% though, which is what some other people like to assume.

There are plenty of people who are into children's media or part of those fandoms for entirely normal, healthy reasons:

They enjoy the simplicity of it.

They enjoy the quality of the writing/animation/music/various other parts of the work.

It helps them work through trauma or tough times.

It gives them nostalgic comfort.

They have loved ones or friends who enjoy it and want to be able to connect with them about it.

[Insert probably around half a dozen reasons here that I cannot think of at the moment.]

I do not judge anybody who likes media for kids for liking media for kids. As long as you are not harming anybody, you do you. Have fun, live your best life, enjoy the things you enjoy.

And regarding your question "How do you think about people who WORK in animation??" - In general, I think most of them are incredibly talented people. Whether they are decent people in a moral sense is something I cannot judge, unless:

A) I get to know them personally (highly unlikely).

B) They use their amazing talent to create something bigoted/hateful.

C) They publicly interact with others in a bigoted/hateful/abusive manner, or records of them interacting in such manner in private become public.

And if B or C ever happen (e.g. Rowling), I simply block them, stop interacting with their material, and move on with my life.

I like to think of people as innocent until proven guilty. I do my best to treat strangers with respect, understanding and kindness, and I say "do my best" because nobody's perfect--we all mess up sometimes and there have definitely been days when I have been physically or emotionally drained enough to be a sad ball of rage lashing out at anyone who interacted with me, and also because I am well aware that I have certain culturally-ingrained biases that I am actively doing my best to unlearn. But my default is always "assume decent person, until proven otherwise".

I will conclude by saying this: I wish you the best and I hope I made my point clearer this time.

there are so many posts about ~tumblr is so broken, you can’t find any post on your own blog, it’s impossible, bluhrblub~

I am here to tell you otherwise! it is in fact INCREDIBLY easy to find a post on a blog if you’re on desktop/browser and you know what you’re doing:

url.tumblr.com/tagged/croissant will bring up EVERY post on the blog tagged with the specific and exact phrase #croissant. every single post, every single time. in chronological order starting with the most recent post. note: it will not find #croissants or that time you made the typo #croidnssants. for a tag with multiple words, it’s just /tagged/my-croissant and it will show you everything with the exact phrase #my croissant

url.tumblr.com/tagged/croissant/chrono will bring up EVERY post on the blog tagged with the exact phrase #croissant, but it will show them in reverse order with the oldest first 

url.tumblr.com/search/croissant isn’t as perfect at finding everything, but it’s generally loads better than the search on mobile. it will find a good array of posts that have the word croissant in them somewhere. could be in the body of the post (op captioned it “look at my croissant”) or in the tags (#man I want a croissant). it won’t necessarily find EVERYTHING like /tagged/ does, but I find it’s still more reliable than search on mobile. you can sometimes even find posts by a specific user by searching their url. also, unlike whatever random assortment tumblr mobile pulls up, it will still show them in a more logically chronological order

url.tumblr.com/archive/tagged/croissant will show you EVERY post on the blog tagged with the specific and exact phrase #croissant, but it will show you them in the archive thumbnail view divided by months. very useful if you’re looking for a specific picture of a croissant that was reblogged 6 months ago and want to be able to scan for it quickly 

url.tumblr.com/archive/filter-by/audio/tagged/croissant will show you every audio post tagged with the specific phrase #croissant (you can also filter by photo or text instead, because I don’t know why you have audio posts tagged croissant) 

the tag system on desktop tumblr is GENUINELY amazing for searching within a specific blog! 

caveat: this assumes a person HAS a desktop theme (or “custom theme”) enabled. a “custom theme” is url.tumblr.com, as opposed to tumblr.com/url. I’ve heard you have to opt-into the former now, when it used to be the default, so not everyone HAS a custom theme where you can use all those neat url tricks. 

if the person doesn’t have a “custom theme” enabled, you’re beholden to the search bar. still, I’ve found the search bar on tumblr.com/url is WAY more reliable than search on mobile. for starters, it tends to bring posts up in a sensible order, instead of dredging up random posts from 2013 before anything else

The month of your birthday, is also the month of her birthday, just as it its your shared birth year. It feels strange to get older.

Not that getting older wasn't always strange on some level, the thought of one day being an adult who has their shit together is a forgin one, and remains a forgin thought. You've always been sort of haphazard, and this is supposted to be more about her, then it is about you. But look at you go, making it all about you.

Its strange to get older, because she isn't going to get wiyh you anymore.

And yah, maybe over the years you had drifted. She'd moved away, walking the very sure footsteps of someone who knew where she was going and what she would do when she got there. She had so many plans.

They had changed in adulthood, uncertintaty coming into her footsteps, but she still had goals, and you still don't know where you are going in your life.

You would call yourself a planner in writing, but a pantser at life. You don't know what you want. You know what you should want, but the motivition to find the energy to start things is hard to find some days. Most days.

Some days you wonder why you are still here, and she isnt. Not that you want to die, so much as if one of you were going to die, why was it her when she had so much plans for what to do with her life, instead of you who still doesn't know what to do with it really.
