This weekend we started a new series on #Paleostream!

Pocket Prehistory is a project in which I draw small extinct critters as museum specimens, life sized, on post card formats.

I only do adults so don't expect a T. rex fetus or something ;)

We plan to sell these as postcards on Dinocon in Birmingham this year.

I saw Nature Villa, the house inside a greenhouse, when it was built in 2022, and now it's on the market. Located in Brålanda, Sweden on the shores of Lake Vänern. There's a living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, & and 2 baths. 1,334.72sqft, starting price $848,754.56 approx. USD.

As you can imagine, it's very transparent. Enter the front doors and there's a sitting area to the left and the Mediterranean garden to the right. Plus, you can see the stairs to the 2nd fl.

Then, in the middle, there's a galley kitchen.

The dining area is next to the stove, and in view of the living room.

There's also a large case opening to another entrance area.

This large deck-like area goes all around the house, but it's enclosed in the glass greenhouse.

The Gimli Glider is one of those stories where every aspect sounds more fake than the last and yet it all actually happened.

-A passenger plane was underloaded with fuel because Canada had just converted to the metric system and everyone supposed to double check their numbers got it wrong. -When the plane ran out of fuel they were too far away to make it to an in-service airport and had to head towards the Gimli military base.  Which was shuttered. -They were coming in to fast due to a lack of flaps control and had to perform a series of slips (as shown in the video above) to slow down, basically drifting a giant passenger plane. -As they come down they realized that just because Gimli’s been decommissioned doesn’t mean it’s abandoned because a bunch of people are having drag races on the runway they’re about to need. -Despite everything they managed to land safely and no one was killed or even hurt which is why it’s one of the best air disasters to meme on.

It’s name is Aplysia vaccaria, the black sea hare!

It eats algae and lives in intertidal and sub-tidal zones on the coast of Mexico and California. You can find it in tide pools there!

I would like to add that the colloquial name for this guy is the 'Black Sea Hare' because his antennae resemble rabbit ears!
