one time I went over to a friend's house and their housemate was making paper in the living room, and we saw this big tub full of water they were using to dissolve old scrap paper into a slurry, and everyone was immediately like "oh, you need scrap paper?" and started turning out their jacket pockets and producing expired coupons and bus tickets and crumpled receipts and old shopping lists and whatever else they'd been carrying round with them for no good reason, and passing it all to the paper-making housemate to make sure it was suitable before it got torn up and dropped into the tub, while people took turns stirring the slurry with a big wooden stick. it was strangely ritualistic, like presenting an offering to some kind of temple elder for inspection before placing it in a watery shrine to be devoured and reformed. pulp for the pulp god.

Rereading ACOWAR before book 6 comes out and it's kinda funny that really all Feyre does to ruin the spring court is move a marker so sun shines on her instead of Ianthe, pretend to suffer a nightmare and make tamlin believe her and Lucien might be a thing and ask Tamlin to believe a sentry story. Everything else is purely Tamlin and Ianthe's fault. Ianthe the one who steals the key, drugs the guard and lets the Naga in and then pushes Tamlin to whip the Guard to prove how strong he is to Hybern's niece and nephew. Tamlin is the one to go along with whipping the guard out of his own free will.

to give some entirely bizarre context, nigel farage (extreme cunt) has stepped down from his position as MP for clacton (due to a scandal where he received £5 million from a crypto billionaire that could have been laundered) only to run again so that he can prove people like him. and the only person running against him is count binface. who has been a staple of british politics for many years. and now the british press is forced to interview him seriously while he sits there with his binface.

Saphira & Eragon's dynamic is so much fun in the books. Saphira is a diva, a woman who knows who she is and what she wants, and usually presents the intrusive thoughts. A real Queen of the Skies and she god damn knows it.

And then there's Eragon. He likes bugs. Also has the insane ability to 1 v 1, solve the craziest of puzzles (usually this ability is on cooldown), and will happily wait four hours for a doctors appointment.
