Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
It’s very clear that you all have strong feelings about Tumblr and about this change. We hear you. The passion people have for how Tumblr works is one of the things that makes this place special.
As this rolls out over the next few days and you explore it, we’ll keep reading your replies and reblogs, so please keep sharing your questions, concerns, and ideas.
Your creativity has always been the heart of Tumblr, whether you’re the original poster or adding something brilliant in the reblogs, and nothing about this change is meant to limit that.
If you’d like to talk directly beyond the comments, leave a reply and we’ll follow up with as many of you as we can. We want to work with you to make Tumblr better.
hey folks do we like this. reblog without commentary for reach
do we want this?
yes
no
my dealer: got some straight gas. this strain is called “daylight savings time” youll be zonked out of your gourd
Me: yeah whatever. i dont feel shit.
1 hour and 5 minutes later: dude I swear it’s only been 5 minutes
my friend the oven, pacing: the smart devices are lying to us
yeah sure i'll reblog that
I wish irl grinding was as fun as in videogames tbh. Like yeah i need to go to work a thousand times but after that i have enough materials to buy a house. But alas, houses arent real
Alright I guess ill post some art here too
Looking up Forcefem Joker on tumblr and getting flashbanged by my own ragebait from like two years ago. Fell for it too. Didn't even get to see any Jokers getting Forcefemmed (was looking it up for Research). I am my own enemy
i think its funny how if you imagine something scary enough your brain starts treating it like its real and out to get you. its really cool and not annoying at all
someone: i made up a guy called the Scary Getter! He's real spooky when he tries to getter you!
me: wow thats scary.....the Scary Getter.....what if hes real....what if he getters me???
gonna start reblogging this every time i start worrying about about the Scary Getter
rip to all the “fuckyeah___” blogs that carried our society at one point </3
we are in the midst of a true Real One
Dude the fact a COELACANTH blog is the one that survived when the rest died off……..
i dont want a childproofed internet i am almost 30 fucking years old. give your kid an internet safety talk and stop making it the problem of every adult on the planet every time some cryptkeeper legislator gets the brilliant idea (via conservative lobbying) to push through yet another bill gutting our access to free expression + increasing the powers of the surveillance state + lining the pockets of Big Data in the name of Protecting The Kids they wont even feed. this shit is exhausting i can’t believe we’re going to be fighting about it for the rest of my life
for full context
My greatest advice to aspiring cat owners is to never buy them expensive or elaborate toys because you have no control over what they choose to find entertaining. It will almost always be so dumb.
What would inspire me to post this right now? Well of course. It's because of his water #hisboilingwater

The direct links between:
Trans men being seen as "undesirable, unfuckable women" after transitioning
Trans men being the demographic of the LGBT community at highest risk of rape
Trans men being targets of forced detransition via corrective rape and forced pregnancy
People denying both that this increased risk of rape and forced detransition even exists, and instead attributing it to trans men being "TERFs in waiting"
People insisting that trans men being seen as unfuckable women and/or mentally ill girls protects them from systemic violence and therefore makes them less worthy of protection
would be funny if it wasn't fucking terrifying. When you deny the reality of transandrophobia- when you claim that trans men are lucky to "only" be seen as "ugly mentally ill girls"- you are enabling societal violence against trans men.
I don't know how to put this as a fully-formed thought, but my half-formed thought is that the phrase "Unrapeable" doesn't mean "These people so undesirable that an abuser would never choose to abuse them" it's a specific code for "You can abuse these people with impunity because nobody will believe what happened to them, because they are seen as so abject and inhuman." And pretty much even "You SHOULD abuse these people, because it will be easy."
it's rape culture. it's 100% just regurgitated rape culture rhetoric
It's frustrating how quickly people dismiss the idea that "cross dressing women" in history might have been trans men. Like, yeah, as a child she presented as a boy and believed herself to be a boy, and then as an adult she "pretended" to be a man, but she was totally 100% cis, suggesting otherwise would be ridiculous. Everyone knows trans men only started existing in the 21st century!
it’s so strange (not surprising, but still strange) to see the mom who tried so hard to convince me not to go on testosterone because “i don’t want you putting something unnatural in your body! what about all the risks?” now happily joining the ozempic craze with zero critical thought about the effects it’s having on her. it absolutely tracks but i do wish there was some way to effectively make her see the hypocrisy and not just make her defensively double down on all the reasons she thinks what she’s doing is so much better than me transitioning.
You want to unionize your workplace but can't even wash your own fucking clothes. You want to meal prep but can't even put money towards groceries. You want to drive to a different state for your birthday but can't even ASK the people who also work full time who have driven you everywhere for five years to help you with driving, you just expect us to make you go drive.
Sure bud.

Oh my god
All the people in the notes saying 'that's too busy'... maybe this post just wasn't aimed at you.
"That's Too Busy." So sorry you were raised on Landlord White with occasional forays into Shades Of Beige and can't handle patterns or saturation in your colors.
