CHAPTER 19
Hermione set her wine down and went to the tree, scoping out the selection. Surprisingly, she counted five packages addressed to her. One from Harry, two from Ginny, one from Charlie—which also looked like it might be socks—and finally, a rectangular green box with a gold ribbon, sender left blank. She frowned. It obviously screamed Slytherin. Narcissa wouldn’t have sent anything, would she? And how did it find its way in here? There hadn’t been any owls lately, as far as she knew. Hermione picked up the box and took it back to the sofa. It reminded her of a wand box, long and thin. Slowly, she unraveled the ribbon and paper, feeling the weight of Harry and Ginny’s eyes on her. The wrapping fell away to reveal a slender black box. Her fingers hesitated a moment before she pulled the lid away, opening it.
