there's a type of person you run into who is very enamored with their own queerness and particularly how radical and countercultural and punk their own gender is, but who has still done very little work to unlearn the misogyny we are all drenched in from birth, so all that punkitude is overshadowed by a clear disdain for womanhood and women and often trans women in particular, although they are of course wildly offended if you point it out. and, like, such people are a minority in the grand scheme of things and have less power than the 200 shitty cis men that exist in proportion to him, but they still do have power over you as a trans woman, and also they just have that extra layer of annoying that comes with thinking they're more queer radical gender than you.
also these people are basically running the queer show on tumblr and have been since time immemorial and can and will evict a tranny if she so much as blips on their radar so i get to be pissed at them
and this type of person knows on some level that no matter how they present or what they call themselves they will never be perceived as a transgression as much as a transfeminized person. a lot of this type will latch on to whatever performative object of transfemininity they can find- real people performing like drag queens and closeted f1nn5ter, fictional characters like frankfurter or anime "femboys"- and do what they can to make that part of their identity. others will straight up insist that they get to call themselves transfeminine or trans women. either way the image of the transfem becomes an object of queerness- a transgression that they will never be as targeted for as transfems, and so becomes prestige- while actual transfems, those who establish their own identity and politics and spaces, continue to be gross annoying whiny freaks. actual transgressions, as opposed to the game tmes get to play. anything transfems are, anywhere they unite, anything that is targeted at them- must become another obejct of Queer Prestige for genderpunks to flaunt like peacocks. anything they do not want is perverted and dangerous, and any attempt to construct transfeminine language and center the people they're fetishizing is seen as a threat.
to you, the tranny is an outfit you can put on and show off to all your other radical genderfreak friends and take off when you need to or want to. to us, it is a gun pointed at our backs that we can not escape from so long as its loaded. come to terms with this or get the fuck away from us.

Every polycule needs:
