FINALLY, SUB 9:00/mile!
I’ve made so much progress over this past year and I really couldn’t be prouder. It feels good to finally see my efforts paying off.
5/15/16 - 1:59:58 Half-Marathon - 9:09/mile pace
I DID IT! A goal of mine for the past three years has been to get sub 2 hours for a half! I DID IT! Crushed my previous PR by 6 minutes! And this is one of the hilliest courses they have in Michigan!

Beginning of May, 2016 Weight: 148.8 Lbs lost since September 2015 (Starting at 165.8): 17 lbs in 8 months. Roughly 2.125/month OR 0.49/week. Miles Ran since September 2015: 622 miles. Roughly 77.73/month OR 18.14/week.
Thoughts: - I ran a marathon last month…. Am I living in a dream!!?!?! - I started college at 152 lbs. I was 149 lbs at my lowest in college. I’m now skinnier (AND HEALTHIER) than I was in college!?!? That’s a check off the list! - I’m 4.8 lbs away from where I was when I was at my fittest. That is my ultimate goal. - “Shock Tarts” (which I thought were completely gone and never coming back) were actually bought out! They’re now just called sour sweet tarts! I’ve had a lot of these lately… - Donuts is a foodgroup itself. They are good for your soul. - My stomach and chest have really been on the fritz. There’s days I feel like I could take on the world, and then there’s days where I’m dizzy and not feeling so great. - I’ve burnt twice now in the past two weeks….
Goals to Focus on throughout May: - June and July are busy busy bee months, and it begins to get hot. If you want to get in good mileage, now’s the chance! (Drinking is also a big part of these months. Really focus in May so that you don’t have to remember June or July) - SUNSCREEN. Come on now, this is a simple one! - WEIGHTS! If it’s getting too hot for longer distances, focus on bettering your strength. This will make a better runner come fall! - >10,000 steps a day. EVERY DAY. Even if it’s a rest day and running is not a part of it, get up and get moving! - 1 half marathon at the end of this week and one half/full marathon (pending decisions) at the beginning of next month. Get a PR! The rest of the summer will be 5Ks and 10Ks. Take advantage of these opportunities.
