People were crying their eyes out online because someone FAN casted an Indian woman as Rapunzel. Suddenly talking about how no,no she has to be German it’s so important to the story.
But then the project gets greenlit and no one in that movie is German but they’re all white so no one cares.
Same fucking people who said Rue in the Hunger Games being played by a black girl ruined the story for them. Despite the fact that Rue is described as being black in the books.
You don’t care about accuracy you’re all just a bunch of fucking racists who want to erase black and brown folk from these stories.
You don’t want us in period pieces because you like to pretend we didn’t exist back in the ”the good ol days.” You don’t like us in romances cause you’d rather die than admit you can be attracted to us or admit that we’re capable of being loved.
You don’t like us in fantasy or action because what kind of power fantasy is it if it’s not an all white paradise. You like us in horror but only if we die a horrible death to further the story of a white protagonist.
You like us in comedies and dramas but only if we’re the butt of the joke to make you feel better about yourselves. You hate and review bomb any piece of media about us, made for is, by us because it’s not about you.
Even Black Panther had to have a sympathetic white guy for you to relate too. Cause god forbid you watch a movie with only black people and you find yourself enjoying and even relating to them.
It’s not about accuracy and it never has been and quite frankly even if it was I don’t think the people who’s history includes doing black and yellow face and who still continue to whitewash POC roles get to complain about this.
Oh I’m sorry was it accuracy when you lot were painting your skin yellow because having an actual East Asian person in your movie was “too ethic” for your audiences to handle?
Was it accuracy when you made Dr Doom, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, the Ancient One, Jubilee, Heathcliff, Bane, Ra’s and Talia Al Ghul white when they aren’t?

So I’ve discussed before on this blog how my grandmother just refuses to drink water and now it’s landed her in the emergency room.

I tried to get her daughter on the phone in order to yell at her for me but her daughter is on an international flight right now so I’ve gotta do it myself.
She almost fell over and I was like did you drink water today and she was like “well I had a tiny glass of juice with my pills”
