"guys.. i just got the most awesomest idea ever" kaminari exclaims as climbs up onto the couch in the common room, "lets make a playlist together!!"
"a playlist? thats actually a pretty good idea.." jiro replied "and awesomest isnt a word, dimwit"
gorillaz,panchiko,mgmt
denki kaminari's music taste developed heavily throughout the school year (he used to listen to white boy pop), a lot of the music he likes is from jiro, at first he listened to panchiko, gorillaz etc to impress her but he ended up liking them too, jiro still thinks hes faking âĄ
lil hero, ayesha erotica, prime doja
mina ashido's music taste is centered around girly hyperpop, it keeps her moving and energizes her when she wants to breakdance, or when she wants to lift her/others moods. shes very accepting of all music taste's but she tends to make little jokes here and there about sad music âĄ
sombr, gracie abrams, katseye...
mineta. he invited himself to the playlist, nobody wanted him to be there nor did they want him to add any music (except for sero and kami they vouched for him) they got rid of all the songs he added later
nujabes, king geedorah, dean blunt
shoji is calm and collected, his music taste reflects his personality, he prefers instrumentals and calm music âĄ
king krule,mf doom,earl sweatshirt
katsuki bakugo likes british rap, but not british drill like central cee dont be mistaken, he likes artists like king krule. he often plays songs by these artists on the drums, he never, ever plays the drums for anybody else âĄ
newjeans,illit,fifty fifty
ochako uraraka loves kpop!! her and hagakure meet up after school and chit chat inside hagakure's dorm with ochakos playlist in the background (ochako's playlist isn't actually on her phone, she has to borrow hagakure's whenever she wants to listen to music because her phone doesn't have music facilities) âĄ
wave to earth, foo fighters, deftones
kirishima eijiro's music taste is very diverse, he could listen to literally anything, even country. he's like the guy to go to if you want someone to listen to this cool new song you found, he'll listen and he'll instantly add it to his 45 hour long playlist âĄ
the official hero guide podcast
izuku midoriya doesn't listen to much music âĄ
panchiko, paramore, linkin park
kyoka jiro loves music, her music taste isn't diverse but she likes indulging in different genres like kirishima does, but only because she feels like she needs to be open minded if she wants to advance in her music journey âĄ
miyagi michio,goro yamaguchi,joe hisaishi
momo yaoyorozu's music taste reflects her expensive taste, she enjoys traditional japanese artists, but she is very open minded and has no complaints when listening to a different genre âĄ

so whatâs yours?
series m.list: here (chapter 1,2 and 3 are completed!)
The silence in the ruined training room was thick, only broken by the distant, muffled echo of the sirens, and you and Camie just stood there, staring at the empty mat where the blonde guy had been slumped two minutes ago.
"Well," Camie breathed, finally breaking the quiet while she tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, "the doors are actually open now thanks to the loudmouth, so should we just leave?"
You looked at the dented titanium door, then back up at the jagged hole in the ceiling where the insulation was still fluttering like snow. The sheer absurdity of the last hour finally hit, and a bubble of hysterical laughter escaped your throat, turning into a full-blown fit of giggles that made your ribs ache.
"Yeah," you wheezed, wiping a stray tear from your eye, "sure, let's get out of here before Hawks comes back and blames us"
"Exactly, my hair literally cannot handle another hour in this humidity," she joked, already stepping over a pile of plaster toward the exit.
As you both slipped into the hallway, she leaned closer, her voice dropping to a whisper, "what do you think we should tell 'em if they ask why we weren't there?"
"We can say we were out chasing the intruder," you said, your mind already spinning the lie into something believable, "we can describe him too, since we saw him, i am sure we'll be fine if we do all that, we just have to look like we actually tried."
You both moved through the halls with a practiced, casual speed, hitting the fingerprint scanners and the facial recognition hubs with perfectly steady hands. The green lights beeped in approval, the system blissfully unaware that its two top-tier residents were deserting their posts for the night.
Once you were safely tucked into Camieâs car and the engine roared to life, the neon glow of the city started to feel like a fever dream compared to the sterile white walls of the HQ.
"So," Camie asked, glancing at you while she pulled out of the parking structure, "should i head to The Pinnacle? isn't that the first place you met the cute guy?"
"Gosh shut up," you groaned, leaning your head against the cool glass of the window, but you couldn't hide the small smirk tugging at your lips.
"Oh and that one night? look he was cute, but, i wasnt really following you guys," she said, her voice suddenly turning a bit more serious as she navigated the late-night traffic, "i ended up there because the boss told me to keep an eye on you, since you were behaving off after that night in the ring"
You whipped your head around, eyes wide in the dim light of the dashboard. "Camie? what the hell?"
"Sorry!!! ahh it wasnt my choice!" she squealed, looking genuinely apologetic for a split second, "but hey, after tonight, i think weâre even, spying is way too much work anyway"
The tension that had been between you two for months finally seemed to melt away, replaced by a weird newfound friendship. By the time you reached the club, the bass was already thumping through the pavement, and you both headed straight for the bar.
The Pinnacle was packed, a sea of moving bodies and flashing lights that made everything feel blurry and perfect. You were a few drinks in, the heat of the crowd making you feel lightheaded and brave,
"Wait, wait, wait," Camie squinted through the crowd, her hand gripping your shoulder. "Is that⌠no way." your eyes followed her gaze, until you spotted a familiar shock of ash-blonde hair in the corner booth.
Bakugo looked like he had been through a blender. He was alone, nursing a drink with a scowl that could peel paint off the walls. After the chaos in the vents, Kirishima and Kaminari had basically staged a mutiny, insisting that they finish the main mission themselves and that he needed to "rest his nerves" before he actually murdered one of them. He had fought them on it, obviously, but eventually he just snapped and walked off to find the strongest drink in the city.
Drunken Camie spotted him and immediately lit up like a Christmas tree. "Go get him girl!" she shouted, giving you a massive, uncoordinated shove that sent you stumbling right toward his table.
You didn't even try to play it cool. You just ran to him and hugged him really tight, burying your face in the crook of his neck.
Bakugo froze, his whole body going rigid like a statue. He had dealt with high-stakes heists and lethal combat, but a drunk, clingy girl was a variable he hadn't accounted for.
"Hey! what the..let go!" he barked, though his hands stayed hovering awkwardly in the air, not quite pushing you away but not hugging back yet.
"Noooo," you mumbled against his skin, "you're warm and you smell like expensive laundry detergent"
"You're wasted" he grunted, finally sighing and letting one hand rest on your waist just to keep you from sliding off the seat, "fine, hug me, but while sitting, and dont you dare throw up on me"
He was being so awkward, his ears turning a bright shade of red that you could see even in the dim light. Camie was a few feet away, laughing her head off at his discomfort while she danced with some random guy, and Bakugo just flipped her off with his free hand.
"Hey," you whispered, pulling back just enough to look at his face, "how was your day?"
"It was okay," he muttered, his eyes darting around the room to avoid yours.
"You're not gonna ask for mine?" you pouted, leaning back into him.
He let out a long, weary sigh. "How was yours?"
"Booringgg," you drawled, dragging out the syllables, "was training alll day today, just constant drills."
Bakugoâs eyes sharpened instantly, the hunter in him waking up. "Training? for what?"
Before you could accidentally leak the location of a secret government facility, Camie appeared from the corner, grabbing your arm. "Oh! she means training WHEELS! she was helping this little girl ride a bike today and it was like, so moving, anyway we gotta go!"
She dragged you away toward the dance floor, and you just laughed, looking back at Bakugo who looked utterly baffled by the lie.
"Fuuckk," Camie hissed suddenly, staring at her phone, "its the boss, what do we do?"
"Girl just ignore it," you said, pulling her back into the crowd, "we can't show up drunk anyway, weâll deal with it later"
"Yeah, you're right" she agreed, tossing her phone into her bag, "let's just have funnnnn!!"
You spent the rest of the night dancing until your feet went numb, eventually sneaking back into the HQ at dawn, your heart still racing as you bypassed the biometrics and collapsed into bed, the memory of that awkward hug the only thing on your mind before you finally passed out.
The morning sun was hitting the glass of the HQ. The air inside was way too quiet, no more sirens, just that clean, sterile smell that usually meant someone was about to get chewed out.
You hadn't even made it to the lockers to change out of your gear when a shadow cut across the floor.
"Briefing room. Immediately," a voice clipped out.
It was Best Jeanist, and he didn't even look back as he strode away, his posture so stiff it looked painful. You and Camie exchanged a look, the kind where you both knew that if you messed this up, you were going to be spending the next month in solitary.
You straightened your jacket, rubbed your eyes one last time, and tried to look like an elite agent instead of someone who had been hugging a stranger in a corner booth three hours ago.
The room was dim, dominated by a massive screen showing a high-res still of the training room door, which was currently hanging off its hinges like a piece of scrap metal. Jeanist stood at the head of the table, his back to you, watching the footage of the empty room.
"The lockdown was absolute," he started, his voice low and vibrating with that dangerous calm he got when he was genuinely furious, "the magnetic seals were hard-coded, yet I return to find the door battered from the inside, a high value prisoner missing, and my two most promising agents nowhere to be found."
He turned around slowly, his eyes pinning you both to the spot. "Explain yourselves, why did you desert your post when the facility was under a Tier 4 breach?"
Camie didn't even blink, she stepped forward with this perfect mask of professional outrage, her voice crisp and totally sober, "we didn't desert, sir, we adapted, when the power snapped, the intruder we had on the floor wasn't the only threat, we heard a second breach in the vents directly above us, a heavy-hitter."
You caught her drift and jumped in, keeping your voice steady and flat, "the doorâs magnetic seal flickered for a microsecond when the electrical hub was pulled, we realized that if we stayed in that room, we were just waiting to be executed or taken hostage, so we used that window to force the door and intercept the extraction team."
"And where did this 'interception' lead you?" Jeanist asked, his eyes narrowing as he walked a slow, predatory circle around the table.
"We pursued them through the sub-level service tunnels," you lied, the words coming out smooth because you knew the layout of the building like the back of your hand, "they were using high-frequency jammers, which is why our comms went dark immediately, we chased them toward the North Exit, we saw the blonde one being hauled away by two others, one with a heavy build and another in tactical gear."
"We stayed on them for hours," Camie added, nodding like it was the most exhausting night of her life, "we followed the trail into the city to see if they were heading for a safehouse or a hand-off point, we ended up scouting the perimeter of the warehouse district until dawn just to make sure they hadn't looped back."
The silence that followed was heavy, you could literally hear the clock ticking on the wall. Jeanist stopped right in front of you, leaning in just enough that you could see the sharp reflection in his eyes. He was looking for a twitch, a smell of smoke or drink, any sign that you were lying through your teeth.
"You took it upon yourselves to leave the facility without a backup team or a working radio," he whispered, "do you realize how reckless that is?"
"We prioritized the intel, sir," you said, meeting his gaze without flinching, "if we stayed locked in that room, the trail would have been cold by the time the backup generators kicked in, this way, we saw their silhouettes, we saw their exit route, we have more than just a broken ceiling."
Jeanist stared at you for what felt like an eternity, his hand resting on the edge of the table. You could feel Camie holding her breath next to you. If he called for a blood test or checked the GPS on Camie's car, it was over.
Finally, he let out a sharp exhale and stood up straight, the tension in his shoulders dropping just a fraction.
"Your initiative was... extreme," he muttered, turning back to the screen, "but under the circumstances, I suppose I cannot fault the results of a pursuit, even an unsuccessful one, at least you didn't sit around waiting to be rescued."
"Thank you, sir," Camie said, her voice a perfect mix of relief and duty.
"Don't thank me yet," he clipped out, "I want full descriptions of the extraction team on my desk by 09:00, and if I find even a single contradiction in your reports, you'll be back in solitary."
"Clear, sir," you both said in unison.
The second the heavy doors hissed shut behind you, you both walked about ten feet before Camie collapsed against a concrete pillar, clutching her stomach.
"Holy... shit," she whispered, her voice shaking, "i actually thought he was going to see the glitter on my shoes from the club, i felt my soul leave my body for a second"
"He believed it," you breathed, leaning your head against the cool wall, the headache finally roaring back now that the fear was fading, "the North Exit lie worked, he thinks we're just over-eager instead of totally irresponsible"
"we are totally irresponsible" Camie giggled, pushing off the wall and checking her phone, which was now flooded with missed alerts, "but hey, we're alive, and we've got two hours to draw some fake sketches of your 'cute guy' and his friends, let's go"
After three long hours of describing the faces of the intruders you didnt totally DID see, you and Camie, finally realized that you're in a bit of a messy situation.
"Girl.." you hear Camie whisper to you while walking across the halls "What if they find the intruders, take a good look at their faces and realise.."
she suddenly stops in her tracks as she holds your shoulders.
"...THEY DONT LOOK ANYTHING LIKE OUR STUPID SKETCH!!" she cries
You quickly put a hand over her mouth, "Shhhh, you're drawing attention" you whisper, people already starting to murmur.
"I'm not sure Camie, what could we do?"
"We could go into hiding."
"No."
"We fight like the entire organization and then make a living off of stocks"
"Camie.."
"WAIT HOW ABOUT WE PAY ONE OF THOSE WITCHCRAFT LADIES TO PUT A SPELL ON US"
"CAMIE!"
"WHAT?!"
"How about we just find the intruders?" You sigh
"Oh, yeah that sounds good!" she chirps "But no more sneaking around, if we do it, I want permission from the Boss, he was so scary today!!"
You pause for a bit, and then "Okay, I have a plan"
⥠momo would offer ochako an insane amount of money to buy her necessities , it would take her a while to accept but in the end she would.
⥠i feel like mina would be the most âawareâ of the friendgroup and would boycott specific brands, i do not see her using shein/temu either, at all, she shops from small businesses .
⥠hagakure on the other hand⌠sheâs a temu warrior , she buys all her cute room decor from temu, all of it.
⥠momo and jiro go vinyl picking together, they recommend each other their polar opposite music tastes (classical and rock) and they both actually enjoy it (i never expected jiro enjoying classical music but itâs actually canon that momo put her on)
⥠mina usually stays at the mall after the girls leave, she loves shopping for clothes, she is gyaru!!! (so is denki, fight me)
⥠tsuyu and ochako love miniso and shops of the sort, they LOVE it.
⥠mina tries her hardest to educate hagakure and teach her about reducing her shopping from shein but hagakure could not care less, she just wants cute clothes and decor đ
⥠jiro and tsuyu love giving each other fashion tips , idk i can just see this happening, even if their styles are a bit different
⥠hagakure and ochako got lost from the others and ended up finding the boys instead.. hagakure tried to pep talk ochako to get her to talk to deku but she ended up floating away
⥠momo would insist on paying for everybody but they wouldnât let her
⥠momo also attempted to pay for everyone in the line in front of her
⥠mandatory ice cream, non negotiable.
⥠they were recognised at the mall due to the sports festival , many times, to the point where it got a little bit aggravating
⥠mina, momo, jiro and hagakure came with schedules and things theyâre looking to buy. tsuyu and ochako came completely unprepared and had no idea where they wanted to go
hiie i hope you donât take this personally but wanted to ask if there is a reason you put semi unrelated tags in your hcs đ
i love them, i think theyâre super cute! it was just a bit annoying because i was searching for a different character but got kats and denki (;_;)
obviously your not the only writer that does this, itâs even worse when people tag memes as x reader. again, i hope this doesnât offended you bcz your writing is very pretty and accurate!!
ofcourse!! i usually put characters that they're often shipped with and characters that are briefly mentioned in the hcs :)
⥠his main tiktok is also his meme page and he keeps trying to go viral, (it worked once)
⥠he takes pictures of people when they make funny faces while crying
⥠he defo takes things out of context to try to go viral like he'd take a picture of mina and ochako sitting in the common room and caption it "they just begged on their knees crying for the goat's number, should i give it to them?"
⥠thirdyear! kaminari was so jealous of the attention bakugo was getting from girls that he ended up trying to be more like him by pretending to be angry and eating heavily spicy food (he threw up)
⥠people say he's reckless and hurts others with his jokes, but i feel like that would be a more sero type thing to do, hes def a little mature inside with how his jokes might affect people
⥠he doesn't have friends outside of UA, maybe except for one or two kids but thats all
⥠he's def a tiktok meme trendhopper one day he'll be laughing at a certain meme on tiktok and the other he'll be calling it corny and saying everyone who laughed at it should get cremated
⥠he's NOT a player/bop/whatever u wanna call it, when he finds his chance with a girl that wants to date him, he'd be extremely loyal, though i can see some points of vulnerability but it would all be in his head, he is def not a cheater
⥠everyone hc's him with great style but, middleschool! kaminari defo wore skinny, ripped jeans with lightning bolts on them and got bullied out of it and delved into the fashion rabbit hole
⥠kaminari does not have diverse music taste.
⥠he larps.
⥠jiro's the one accusing him of larping when he says he listens to panchiko too and cant name a single song
⥠he larped the cyberpunk anime to seem cool for jiro and ended up having to watch it because of her intense quizzing
⥠he was a closeted gacha kid i do not want to hear otherwise.
⥠he made one of the "how to make slime no borax no glue" and fooled a bunch of kids on the internet when he was little..
⥠personally, i dont feel like he listens to heavy metal! he seems like the type to be loud and then get pissed at others for being loud..
⥠he would def listen to king krule
⥠people say he'd be extremely chronically offline but i feel like hanging out with kirishima and kaminari would make him unknowingly brainrotted
⥠adult! katsuki has one of those organised fridges with the little containers designated for each vegetable. (DO NOT, mix his vegetables up.)
⥠in a relationship,at first katsuki would refuse to hold hands with you, you thought it was because he was embarrassed until you found out it was actually cause his palms are so sweaty
⥠he def calls people geeks for liking anime or reading mangas, unbeknownst to them he has a whole shelf full of manga in his room
⥠he would make fun of one piece fans while secretly watching the show
⥠ragebaited very easily i think we all know this
⥠not a good ragebaiter because he gets agitated and ends up just ragebaiting himself
⥠he is not good with technology.
⥠he also cant send emails
⥠he takes long showers and deadass has a whole beauty regime
⥠he doesnt save peoples names in his phone so whenever he gets a text he has to guess who it is based on their texting style
⥠middle school! katsuki would be a cyberbully... he would have unrestricted screen time and stay on his laptop typing up the most diabolical comments under tiktoks of people just having fun (he would do it from a fake account,he claims to not have social media)
⥠he would be extremely ashamed of his antics in the future
⥠thirdyear! katsuki would not gaf about how people live their lives, he'd still get angry regularly dont get me wrong, he just wouldnt judge others, i feel like even if he wanted to judge them he wouldnt care enough to
⥠mina and hagakure, regularly send him the boyfriend asmr people make about him, infact they even play it when he's in the room. (they asked jirou to help them taunt him but she was too busy) sometimes even ochako joins in
⥠he loves fan edits a lot, obv he never admits to it but he has a little folder full of his favorite fan edits (the ones that make him look strong) he reports the cute edits with lovey-dovey songs and tries to get them removed..
⥠the lowest he's ever gotten in an exam is a 70 in middle school maths
⥠he was off school for a week because he got ulcers in his stomach from eating too much spicy food

series m.list: here (chapter 1,2 and 3 are completed!)
âFuckâŚâ
The word was a jagged snarl, barely audible over the rhythmic, soul-crushing pulse of the alarm. 4,4,4. The sequence vibrated through the metal plating of the vent, mocking him.
Bakugo Katsuki, a top-tier agent, the man who lived by the blade, had just tripped a goddamn proximity sensor. He was currently folded like a pocketknife inside a cramped, dusty ventilation shaft in the heart of Viper HQ, and the whole building knew there was a rat somewhere around.
"What the hell am I supposed to do now..." he hissed, his jaw tight enough to snap bone.
He stayed pinned to the spot, his heart hammering a frantic rhythm against his ribs. He hated being trapped. He hated being still. He waited for the red strobe lights to dim, praying the security sweep would pass him by.
Then, a sound.
Thump. Scrape. Thump.
Something,or someone, was moving in the darkness behind him. Fast.
Bakugo didnât hesitate. In the narrow, suffocating space, a combat knife slid from his sleeve into his grip before he could even think. He didnât need to see a face,he just needed to draw blood.
He lunged, driving the steel toward the silhouetteâs shoulder with lethal intent.
"Ugh! FUCK! BAKUBRO, CHILL! ITâS ME!"
The voice was high-pitched, panicked, and painfully familiar. Bakugo froze the blade mere millimeters from a throat, his crimson eyes narrowing as the dim emergency light caught a shock of blonde hair and a pair of very wide, terrified eyes.
"Kaminari?" Bakugoâs voice was a low, dangerous growl. "What the fuck are you doing here?â
Denki winced, clutching his shoulder where the knife had sliced through his tactical gear. "Damn it Bakubro.. You almost got my beautiful face!â He whined âWatch where you're stabbing!"
"And I'm back here too! Mind the boots!" A second voice echoed from the shadows further down the shaft.
Bakugoâs head hit the top of the vent with a dull clang as he tried to look past Kaminari. "Kirishima? Youâve gotta be shitting me. This is my solo mission. Get out. Both of you. Now."
He tried to shove Kaminari backward, but the redhead was already crawling forward, offering a sympathetic, toothy grin that made Bakugoâs pulse spike with pure irritation.
"Easy, Bakugo," Kirishima whispered, trying to keep his voice steady despite the blaring alarm. "The Boss figured you might need backup. You know, since you kind of... lost track of our target at the ring? He didn't want you getting bagged by the Viper's clean-up crew."
The air in the vent practically hissed as Bakugoâs temper hit the breaking point. His grip on the knife tightened until his knuckles turned white.
"Iâll kill you. Iâll kill both of you right here and tell Endeavor the ceiling collapsed," he barked, his voice lethal. He glared at them, his eyes glowing with a feral intensity that usually made grown men flee. "If Iâm stuck working with the holy trinity of incompetence, weâre doing this my way. No talking, no 'friendly' bullshit, and if either of you trips another sensor, Iâm leaving your corpses for the agents to find. Got it?"
Kaminari gulped, nodding so fast he nearly hit the floor. Kirishima just gave a little grin.
"Go on Bakubro, Lead the way." He giggled while nudging Kaminari next to him, as they both gave each other a sly smirk.
Bakugo simply grunted ââŚNever fuckin listenâ He turned back around, his eyes focused on the vent grate ahead. Somewhere in this building was the target from the ring, the person he allegedly âmissedâ. And oh how he was going to find them.
Meanwhile, you were exhausted, it was nearly 3:00 AM. The air in the training grounds felt recycled and stale, sticking to your skin like a second layer of grit. Youâd only been given 2 hours of sleep after your written exam, they preponed it. You and Camie were literally straight, forced into "remedial" drills because Best Jeanist decided your "attitude" needed recalibrating. Every muscle in your body throbbed with a dull, heavy ache that made you want to put your head through the nearest reinforced wall.
Hawks stood by the observation glass, looking far too caffeinated for this hour. Heâd been pushing you and Camie against each other all night, watching the sparks fly with that annoying, detached curiosity.
"Again," Hawks commanded, his voice echoing in the vast, empty gym.
You wiped a smudge of sweat from your forehead, your eyes locking onto Camie. She wasnât even winded,or if she was, she was hiding it behind that plastered-on, glossy smirk that made your blood boil.
"You look a little slow babe," Camie cooed, adjusting her gear with deliberate slowness. "Maybe the white room made you soft? Itâs okay, I can take over your shifts if youâre too tired to keep up."
"Shut your mouth, Utsushimi," you snapped, your voice rasping. "And donât call me that.â
Suddenly, the red emergency lights finally flickered to life in the sector, bathing the room in a bloody, rhythmic glow. The sirens, which had apparently been screaming in the rest of the building for minutes, finally reached the training hall speakers, a deafening, distorted 4,4,4.
Hawks reached for his belt, his relaxed posture snapping into a combat-ready stance. "Lockdown procedures. Sector 7 is compromised." He didn't even glance back as he hit the manual override, sprinting toward the exit. "Do not move. If the doors open before I get back, you're both finished."
The titanium doors hissed shut, the magnetic locks sealing with a heavy, final clunk. You didn't wait. You stormed toward the exit, grabbing the handle and wrenching it with enough force to dent the frame. It didn't budge. "Dammit," you hissed, kicking the base of the door.
"Wow, real mature," Camie sighed, sliding down the wall and pulling her phone out. "OhâŚâ She looked horrified at the screen. âOh my fucking god..â
âWhat? Camie talk to me what happened?â You hurried to her side, you hated her but, you were still worried.
âMy.. One fucking hundred and four day Snapstreak ended. Because of this stupid fucking lockdown oh my fucking GOD.â She screamed, this is as angry as youâd seen her, ever.
âOh my god you bitch i thought something happened to youâ you sighed as you slid down to sit next to her.
Scrape. Thud. Clang.
You tilted your head back, eyes narrowing at the ventilation grate directly above. "Camie, shut up for a second."
"Excuse me? Iâm literally mourning the death of my social life right now.. can youââ
"I said shut up."
The metal above was groaning. It wasn't the sound of the building settling; it was the sound of weight. Heavy, shifting weight.
Bakugo was currently losing his mind. The vent was barely wide enough for his shoulders, and now he had two idiots pinning him down.
"Move your damn foot, Shitty Hair!" Bakugo hissed, his voice a lethal whisper. He was trying to peer through the slats.
He recognised those voices from down below. "If I can just get a look at their facesâ
"Bakugo, stop squirming!" Kaminari gasped from behind him.
Suddenly, Denkiâs entire body went rigid. A small, eight-legged shadow scurried across his peripheral vision, settling right into his yellow bangs. "Oh... oh no. Bakugo. There is a spider. In my hair. Kill it. Kill it before it lays eggs in my brain."
"I'm going to lay eggs in your brain if you don't shut up!" Bakugo snarled.
"I CAN FEEL IT TAPPING!" Kaminari let out a muffled, frantic shriek, his legs flailing. He kicked out blindly, his heavy boot catching the support bracket of the vent.
CRACK.
"You idiotâ!" Bakugo grabbed for the side of the shaft, but it was too late. The metal was screaming.
You stood up slowly, your hand instinctively reaching for the tactical knife tucked into your waistband. The ceiling wasn't just vibrating anymore,it was sagging.
"Uh, is the decor supposed to be... falling?" Camie asked, finally looking up from her dead phone.
"Get back," you ordered, stepping into a low crouch.
A shower of dust and a single, frantic scream was your only warning before the entire ventilation unit tore away from the ceiling in a spray of sparks and twisted steel.
The ceiling groaned, a sound like a dying beast, as the central ventilation unit buckled. You and Camie both slid into combat stances, weight low, hands up, eyes scanning the dark, jagged gap where the metal had peeled away from the concrete.
The air was thick with the scent of old dust and the sharp, electric hum of the sirens.
âWhere are they?â you hissed, your eyes darting across the shadows of the exposed ductwork.
Camie squinted, her pose faltering as she tilted her head. âUhh babes thereâs literally nobody there. Itâs just.. an empty holeâ
You didn't drop your guard. âThe alarm didn't trip for an empty hole, Camie.â
But as you stared up, the dust settled. There was no drop-down. No tactical team. Just the hollow, dark throat of a part of the buildings ventilation system.
Above the gap, Bakugoâs heart was hammering against his ribs, but not from fear, from pure rage. He was currently horizontal, his fingers dug into a remaining support bracket with a grip that could crush stone.
Behind him, Kirishima and Kaminari were literally latched onto the sides of the shaft like oversized geckos, their boots pressed against the rivets to keep from sliding into the ground for everybody to see.
âDonât. Fucking. Breathe,â Bakugo mouthed, his eyes burning.
He was inches away from the edge, but from his angle, he could only see the tops of two heads, one blonde and the other... moving too much.
He didn't recognize them. To him, they were just two more obstacles, two more nameless Viper drones standing between him and the exit. He had no clue the girl standing right below him was the same one who had nearly taken his jaw off in the ring a few nights ago.
âBakugo,â Kaminari whispered, his voice trembling at a frequency that shouldn't be humanly possible. âThe spider. Itâs still in the hair. I can feel its tiny, fuzzy feet... it's doing a mating call on my scalp..â
âI will gut you,â Bakugo hissed back, beginning to crawl softly, inch by inch, toward the next stable section of the vent. âWeâre almost out of this sector. These are the training grounds. The blueprints said this is where they keep the newbies and the washouts. We aren't getting caught by some low-level recruits.â
âBro, I think Iâm gonna sneeze,â Kaminari whimpered.
âIf you sneeze, Iâm dropping you,â Bakugo promised.
They were so close. The exit to the sector was just five feet away. Bakugo was already mentally preparing his report to Endeavor about how heâd successfully navigated the two dumbasses through a breach.
Then, Kaminariâs eyes caught a glimpse of a shadow on the vent wall. The spider. It was jumping.
âGET IT OFF!â
Kaminari didn't just sneeze, it felt like he detonated. He thrashed, his foot slipping off the slick metal. With a pathetic, muffled yelp, he tumbled backward, sliding right through the gaping hole in the ceiling like a sack of flour.
âKaminari!â Kirishima reached out, but Bakugo grabbed the back of Kirishimaâs vest, pinning him to the wall.
âLet him go,â Bakugo snarled, his eyes cold. âHe can handle the fall. We have the intel. If we go down there, weâre all burned. I'm sure he can handle himself, he didnt get into the Horizon for nothing"
THUD.
You and Camie jumped back as a body hit the padded training mat with a sound that could only be described as 'un-athletic.'
You both stared.
There, sprawled out in a mess of yellow hair and slightly too large tactical gear, was a guy. He looked like heâd been through a blender. He lay perfectly still for a long beat, the wind clearly knocked out of him.
âIs he... dead?â Camie asked, poking a finger toward the body.
âHeâs breathing,â you said, stepping closer, your knife still gripped tight. âBut... this is it? This is the high-level security breach?â
Kaminariâs eyes fluttered open. He looked up, his vision blurry and swimming. The red emergency lights cast a soft, ethereal glow around you and Camie. To his concussed brain, the sirens sounded like harps and the dust motes looked like glitter.
âWhoa,â Kaminari breathed, a dazed, goofy smile spreading across his face. âAm I... in heaven? Are you guys the beautiful angels who came to take me to the..." drool slowly seeped down his mouth "..biiiiggg party in the sky?"
Camie let out a long, loud sigh, her shoulders dropping as she tucked her dead phone into her pocket. âOh my god. I wish my stupid phone wasnât dead" she smirked "I would've genuinely gone viral with this, he looks fucking incompetent"
You stared down at him, completely dumbfounded.
âYeah,â you muttered, the adrenaline leaving your body in a cold wave of disappointment. âYeah, he really does. This is the intruder?â
âAlright, heavenâs closed. Get up, Blondie,â you muttered, grabbing one of his arms. Camie grabbed the other, and on the count of three, you both hauled him upward.
The second his dead weight hit your shoulders, your knees nearly buckled.
âOh my god,â Camie gasped, her face turning a shade of pink that definitely wasn't in her color palette. âWhat the hell? Why is he so heavy? Is he made of lead? my glutes are going to be so sore tomorrow, and for what? This guy?â
âHeâs just... dense,â you grunted, struggling to keep his arm draped over your neck. You tried to shuffle forward, but it was like trying to move a boulder through mud. Out of pure frustration, you gave his leg a sharp kick toward the exit. âMove! My god, heâs like a human anchor. How does someone even weigh this much?â
It took a grueling five minutes just to drag him ten feet. Camie eventually let go, stumbling toward the titanium exit and yanking on the handle. It didn't even rattle.
âDude, itâs literally still locked,â Camie wheezed, leaning her forehead against the cool metal. âHawks must have hard-coded the lockdown from the outside. Weâre stuck in here with... this.â
She gestured to the guy, who had slid back onto the mat and was trying to high-five a dust mote. You let out a long, jagged sigh and dropped down onto the floor right in front of him. You were too tired to be angry.
âSo... what do we do?â you asked, wiping sweat from your temple. âWe canât leave. Should we just use him as a punching bag for our training?"
Meanwhile, Bakugo and Kirishima had finally slipped out of the ventilation system, dropping silently into a darkened corridor. Bakugo immediately checked his corners, his knife held in a reverse grip.
âBakugo, man, Iâm worried,â Kirishima whispered, grabbing Bakugoâs shoulder and stopping him mid-stride. âI saw those two women down there. If he starts doing that weird drooling thing he does when heâs nervous... they're gonna kill him! Or worse, theyâre gonna make him do chores!â Kirishima whines âHe hates chores man.. what if he goes crazy?"
âLet go of me, Shitty Hair,â Bakugo hissed. âMission first. We get the data, we get out. If the idiot got caught by two newbies, thatâs his problem.â
âPlease!â Kirishima practically fell to his knees, clutching Bakugoâs tactical vest with a look of pure, exaggerated agony. âThink of the paperwork if we lose him! Itâs not manly to leave a bro behind!â
Bakugo stared at him, his eye twitching as Kirishima continued to sniffle dramatically. The silence stretched until Bakugo let out a long, explosive sigh that sounded like a tire deflating.
âFine! Stop crying like a damn baby,â Bakugo snapped, shoving Kirishimaâs face away. âBut we arenât just walking in there. We need a plan. If we blow the mission, Iâm killing you both.â
Bakugo crouched down, tapping the GPS tracker on his wrist.
"So, here's the plan."
Bakugo realizes they canât force the titanium doors from the outside without a keycard. He tells Kirishima to find the nearest electrical hub. Kirishima has to short-circuit the lighting in the training sector. In the five seconds it takes for the backup generators to kick in, the magnetic locks on the doors will flicker. Bakugo will use that split second to kick the door in, grab the idiot and vanish back into the vents, fast.
âYou have sixty seconds to find that hub, Kirishima,â Bakugo growled, checking his watch. âGo.â
The tension in the training room was thick enough to choke on. You were staring at the ceiling, every nerve ending on high alert, while Camie was pacing the length of the mat, her boots squeaking rhythmically against the rubber.
"If I lose more streaks because of a ceiling leak and some random blonde guy, I'm literally going to retire," Camie hissed, though she kept her voice low. "Like, the security here is supposed to be good, right?"
You didn't answer. Your hand was steady on your knife, your eyes tracking the dark, jagged hole in the ductwork. Something felt wrong. The air was too still.
Kirishima was hunched over a massive, humming metal box, his face illuminated by the flickering green and amber status lights of the sectorâs power grid. His fingers were trembling just a fraction as he hovered over a thick, red-sleeved cable housing.
"Bakugo, man, I found it," Kirishima whispered into his comms, his voice cracking with nerves. "But this looks like it powers the entire wing. If I pull this, the magnetic locks are gonna fail, but the sensors go with it. Is this... is this manly? It feels like I'm sabotaging a hospital."
"Itâs a black-site training facility, Shitty Hair! Pull the damn cord!" Bakugoâs voice barked back, sounding like he was struggling to hold up a mountain of dead weight. "The internal sensors are on a separate loop, they'll reboot in five seconds. That's our window. Do it NOW."
Kirishima braced his feet against the wall, grabbed the housing with both hands, and gave a sharp, violent yank.
POP.
A shower of blue electricity hissed from the panel, reflecting off Kirishimaâs wide eyes.
SNAP.
The world plunged into absolute, suffocating darkness. The low hum of the ventilation died instantly, replaced by a silence so heavy it felt like it was pressing against your eardrums.
"Oh my god i'm blind! babes are you there?!" Camieâs shriek echoed off the high ceilings, pure panic lacing her tone.
You were already moving. You didn't need light to know where the intruder was. You lunged toward the center of the mat, your hand sweeping through the empty air where the blonde guy had been slumped just seconds ago.
"Camie, shut up! Get to the wall!" you commanded, but your voice was drowned out by a massive BOOM.
The titanium door didn't just open, it groaned as something hit it with the force of a battering ram. The magnetic locks had failed, and someone on the other side had been waiting for that exact microsecond.
Footsteps thundered into the room. Heavy, synchronized, and fast.
You swung your blade in a wide arc, feeling the rush of air as someone narrowly dodged your strike. A low, jagged grunt sounded just inches from your ear,a rough, biting rasp that sent a jolt of adrenaline straight to your heart.
"Got the weight! Go, go, go!"
"Wait, he's so heavy! dude, my back is literally screaming"
"Shut up and climb, Shitty Hair!"
You lunged for the voice, your fingers grazing the rough fabric of a tactical vest, but a heavy boot caught you in the shoulder, shoving you back. By the time the secondary backup generators kicked in five seconds later, the red emergency strobes flickered back to life, casting a ghostly, rhythmic glow over the room.
The mat was empty.
The intruder was gone. The heavy door was slightly ajar, the frame bent outward as if it had been hit by a truck. You sprinted to the hallway, but it was a ghost town, nothing but the fading, rhythmic clang-clang-clang of metal vibrating deep inside the vents above.
You stood there in the hallway, chest heaving, staring at the empty shadows.
"What... what just happened?" Camie asked, breathless as she smoothed her hair back, looking genuinely rattled for the first time all night. "Did we just get robbed of a prisoner by some... loud-mouthed jerk?"
You didn't answer. Your mind was stuck on that voice, that angry, arrogant snarl that felt like it belonged in a boxing ring, not a high-security breach. You looked up at the vent, your jaw tightening as the sirens continued to wail.
"He's gone," you whispered, the realization sinking in. "They actually got him out."
can we start writing more mha fics with strong female characters?
why does fem! reader always have some sort of a useless quirk where she can create rose scented bubbles that make you ticklish for a whole 0.8 seconds or a quirk to give other people power-ups using her deep love and affection for them..
and then when there's an actual moment for redemption where she can show her skills she slips under 20 rocks and some big strong hero has to save her and she falls in love with him
and then when she (rarely) has an actually strong quirk, she leaves her hopes and dreams of stepping into the action by joining the support course to cheer on bakugo from the sidelines or smth
and if she is portrayed as strong, sheâs like stripped of her femininity đ. as if she canât be strong while still being feminine or girly or whatever bs ppl think
