Who pays for his suit & shoes?
As with flower girls, it’s something that needs to be worked out with the parents of the child. It’s a matter of preference. You can choose to cover the cost as gift, or maybe the parents of your little ring bearer would want to help out.
How much do they cost to rent/buy?
Ring bearer tuxedo rentals can be almost as much as adult tuxedo rentals, averaging around $89. From doing a little shopping around myself, I found places where you can but a ring bearer tux for nearly half the cost. While your little guy is growing…you never know when your next formal occasion will be… and if it’s cheaper to buy it…I mean, why not right?
How to take care of your little guys~
This is arguable… but I’d say little boys can be a bit antsier when it comes to weddings than little girls. They can just become straight up bored… and when you’re bored… it’s either a) hard to stay awake or b) hard to keep your hands to yourself. With all that said, they need some form of distraction. It’s not a bad idea to whip out that iPhone in your purse, or maybe even a coloring book. Something- would definitely be advised! These little guys, (unless they’re shy and just want to hide in between their mommy or daddy’s legs) love being the center of attention. A little love from the groom and his men… never hurts.
Creative ideas for your ring bearers~ Let’s talk outfits and pillows shall we?
Ring bearer outfits generally fit in with the rest of your wedding color palette but this is not a must. Once again, feel free to branch out! If you’re going formal, try a white tux for the little guy… this is absolutely charming. If you’re going casual, suspenders and bow ties are ADORABLE! And if you’re having a beach wedding and have a toddler as a ring bearer, why not a give the kid a break & let him go without a t-shirt, and instead a darling little tie around his neck with some blue jeans. Remember, a comfortable kid, helps make a happy kid! And- you’ll save a few bucks : )
What’s the average cost of a ring bearer pillow? $43
If you choose to have your ring bearer walk down with a pillow, get creative and get colorful! You can add patterns or designs to the pillow. You can customize the pillow with prints, colors & designs that are specific to you as a couple. For instance… if you’re musicians- why not add a musical note? You can then use the pillow after your wedding on your couch or on your bed!
And… you don’t even have to use a pillow. I saw pictures of two little guys coming down the aisle with fishing rods and the rings were the bait! Hehe…
