really hate how the term "lesbian" has been erased from media. now it's queer, wlw, sapphic. that tells me nothing. are they ACTUALLY lesbians or will there be male-fucking at some point?

on the flip side, when "lesbian" is actually used as a content descriptor, you can guarantee a male will be involved (threesome/poly usually). there's no critical thought beyond "two women kiss this is lesbian!!!"

lesbians have no surefire word for media that exclusively includes us, because lesbian media is an extremely unpopular niche that nobody besides lesbians wants to watch, and i'm so sick of people telling me that i have nothing to complain about because a sterilized lesbian background character pops up in a kid's cartoon once a year.

Men have hindered the progress of humanity by suppressing geniuses from half the human population. Women were prevented from making meaningful contributions to mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, geology, ecology, etc. for thousands of years.

Think of all the genius women who were forced to become homemakers and housewives, overburdened with 10+ children until their bodies gave in to stress, and perished their intellect - only utilised when a man would steal their ideas without credit.

Men talk about how they "contributed everything" to history and science. The question that should be asked is, how much more advanced would humankind have been were it not for the barbarity of weak men? How much have men slowed human progression because the genius of women made them feel emasculated?

The thing that I find so exhausting about "if the roles were reversed" is that the roles will NEVER truly be reversed. There is too great a difference between a man doing something, his motivations, his capabilities, and a woman doing something with her motivations and capabilities. Fundamentally a woman breaking a restraining order to show up at her ex's wedding will never be the same threat as a man doing the same. Not when women commit only 10-20% of violent crimes and carry guns at half the percentage men do. Not when the average man can overpower the average woman.
