So according to a recent Reddit AMA answer from Maggie, there is evidence of some sort that there is a sweetmetal in TRC. My first guess is there is something in the Barns that kept Aurora awake for a few days and my second guess is that it’s the wooden mask Ronan had nightmares about and tried to destroy.

I'm not saying Ronan being angry Adam didn't immediately text him back is right, but the murder crab incident clearly worsened his already pretty terrible insecurities. So when his very important text goes unanswered, for even a length of time, Ronan's worry of making things worse got, well, worse. He knew that he was about to do something Adam already disapproved of, going against his promise of being there for when Adam comes back in one piece, so the easiest way to avoid conflict with the person he loves? Cut ties entirely, simple as that. It makes it worse, sure, but it's the sort of worse he can pretend isn't entirely on him, because, "why didn't you text me back?" Now Ronan doesn't have to shoulder all the blame, now it wasn't him, personally, ruining everything. But a lack of him.
