Blind Tobirama AU

(See Through Your Eyes)

Reading all these fanfics and ideas about blind Tobirama has started to get me thinking. Whether he is fully blind or semi-blind, Tobirama wouldn’t be able to see anything around him (not in the traditional sense at least). However, he also isn’t able to see himself.

Now just imagine a blind Tobirama Senju who can only rely on the description of others in order to interpret how he looks. He can’t see, but others can! How he looks (or at least how he THINKS he looks) to himself is completed based on how others perceive him.

So I bring this idea forth: A Tobirama Senju who completely believes that he looks like a monster. An Oni. A demon. A ghost. Whatever description he’s been called by both his enemies and his clan. Not because he’s actually seen himself, but because that’s what other people who can see him say.

He can’t make his own observations so he must use references to extrapolate and come to a conclusion!

Additionally, as I am a sucker for MadaTobi, I propose Madara using his Sharingan in order for Tobirama to “see through his eyes”.

Mr. Scientist needs more substantial proof? Madara “I’ll be you be your eyes” Uchiha will show him his beauty every time.

And if Madara goes blind, well now he knows what it’s like to see through Tobirama’s eyes. (Tobirama of course does not approve. He won’t let Madara go blind, not as long as he’s alive).

Note: A good brother Hashirama tries to prove to his brother that he does not in fact look like a monster…but Tobirama takes it with a grain of salt because 1) they are brothers, he has to say that, and 2) Hashirama is one voice compared to a sea of voices

“oh no we need to practice for our fake dating” is the funniest trope to me cause like. there are so many people who force themselves into a shitty relationship they hate just because of amatonormatiivity that it’s an ingrained part of popular culture to joke about hating your partner.

which is to say, oh my god you dont need to hold hands and go on fake dates, you don’t even need to agree on a single detail of your cover story beforehand. you can literally stand 6 feet apart at all times and look profoundly uncomfortable and all anyone will think is “yikes™. not my problem”
