The other thing that pissed me off today is that my friend (also a wheelchair user) messaged a hair salon that prides itself for being “accessible and inclusive” and found out that their version of “accessible” doesn’t extend to wheelchair access.

When my friend asked why they brand themselves as accessible but don’t even have a ramp she was told that they can call themselves accessible because they allow neurodivergent people to “be themselves” and “stim without judgement”.

Pro-tip: if you ever have a body butter that is too thick to spread easily, try placing it in a warm place for a while to soften it up (do not microwave, set it on an air vent or something) and then vigorously stir in about a teaspoon of your favorite body oil until you like the texture. I tell you this because I’m sick of companies marketing whipped body butter when you can whip body butter yourself. If you add too much oil, it CAN start to separate if the emulsifier sucks so add a little bit at a time.

I feel like all the "they broke weird al" "weird al got serious we're so cooked" comments about the killing in the name cover are missing the point. that is not a broken man. comedy is politics. comedy has always been politics. weird al has been satirizing politics for a long time because he knows the court jester can say to the king what other people can't. by doing a serious cover of an explicitly anti-establishment song that his gen x and millennial audience knows by heart when he's built his career on parody, he's saying this can't be satirized anymore and he's saying it in a very deliberate way that his audience will understand. those aren't the actions of a broken man, they're the actions of a man who is trying to tell you something. are we going to listen?
