I think some of the loneliness of autism is that you feel like you hurt people just by Interacting Wrong, but you don’t know how to Interact Right, and the more effort you put into it, the more exhausted you are and the more artificial it comes across (with the end result of people still being upset with you). and it’s not anyone’s fault for not liking Being Interacted With Wrong, and it’s not your fault for doing it so wrong, but it is very, very lonely.
sorry to be a broken record every month but christ menstruation is a stupid concept. oooooh excuse me for not getting pregnant, why the fuck is there goo falling out of me about it? grow the fuck up and reabsorb that shit for nutrients.

prayer to whichever dead catholic person is most appropriate: may I not have to run a whole week of surprise camps on crutches. in a knee brace.
Im agnostic raised liberal protestant, but absolutely the catholics got saints right. Sometimes your problem is so fucking specific you need Some Guy. If you're listening, Guy of Workers Who Have Strain Injuries,
No fucking WAY, there's actually a knee injury Guy? Catholicism accidentally reinventing the medical specialty system......
I know you're wondering: are there slutty pictures of him revealing his knees?
Saint Roch, by Francesco Ribalta, c. 1625, Museo de Bellas Artes, Valencia

A tragic scene:
My turtle notices the blueberry I put out for him but in his excitement he drops it into his pond. He considers a recovery mission on his own, then turns to me for assistance instead.
Fear not- the berry was retrieved and the turtle was able to enjoy it as intended
I love this girl. awesome protagonist
Billboard names Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” as the best LGBTQ+ anthem of all time
Inspired by the empowering music of the ‘90s, Gaga told Billboard that she wanted to create a “freedom record” that didn’t beat around the bush: “I want to write my this-is-who-the-f–k-I-am anthem, but I don’t want it to be hidden in poetic wizardry and metaphors.” She followed through, with lyrics like, “No matter gay, straight or bi / Lesbian, transgendered life / I’m on the right track, baby / I was born to survive.” Fans responded positively, as the song debuted at No.1 on the Hot 100 and remained there for six weeks.

i think one of the core flaws of internet activist culture is the lack of any boundaries between venting and discussing one's personal situations, and proper theorizing and anti-oppressive work. and like the solution is not a hard boundary between these, because ultimately this is the challenge we must reckon with once we accept "the personal is political." its an important feminist slogan for a reason, and the challenge of how we navigate the personal-as-political is one we are still grappling with (in large part because the forces of capitalist modernity obviously have an investment in feminism and other liberatory movements being as fractured and philosophically muddled as possible). you CANNOT ever fully divide the personal and the political; but simply recognizing that fact is NOT the same as developing an actual framework and compatible culture to navigate these different but intersecting spheres in a productive way.
i think this is the problem with "i hate all men" and "i hate straight people," not so much that the feeling of either of those is wrong. but that "your feelings are valid" and "you are right to be angry about injustice" and "oppressed people should not need to react to being oppressed in a "nice" way to be deserving of compassion and care and justice" and "anger can be a motivator for social change" are all true statements that, without a good overarching framework, i think have collapsed into a culture where being angry IS activism, and that is where activism stops. and at the same time, we are all geared towards seeking ideological "perfection" and especially on tumblr there are frankly a Lot of neurodivergent people who (and i say this as one myself) are prone to nitpicking and treating everything people say as a philosophical puzzle to solve.
and all of this and more combines into an environment (on tumblr, on Tiktok, wherever) where its hard to distinguish between a post thats meant to be taken as a vent or as theoretical contribution, because the authors don't even know, no one's even really thinking of that boundary or how to navigate it, and at the same time everyone is angry and their anger is both justified and unjustified. everything is both an interpersonal relationship and a public political event and the social expectations for both are all over the fucking place. any nuanced criticism of the personal-political gets easily grapevined and recontextualized until you have people who are earnestly trying to be politically engaged and take that criticism into account, but in practice it just gets sapped of that nuance and continues stirring the discourse pot. which is how you get people taking the genuine and, again, often very nuanced criticisms made by transandrophobia / anti-transmasculinity theory and applying it sloppily, emotionally, falling into black-and-white us-vs-them thinking, and contributing to further conflict and misunderstanding.
and i don't think that is at all a solely personal failing by "psyops" or "idiots" or "illiterate teenagers" or whatever Other we want to construct. we are all a part of one big discourse rat king (one might say the Discourdian Knot, please laugh). this disorganization is the result of many traumatized people and external pressure (from platforms to encourage fighting to retain engagement, from political powers to keep potentially insurgent groups fractured and distracted). we need to all be critical of ourselves and others, compassionate towards ourselves and others, and i think more principled in how we approach The Discourse and everything related.
my apologies to the lovely lady who had only just begun constructing her beautiful spiderweb in the immediate path of the side door this morning when i, in my self-centered desire to vacate my home of assorted household refuse, came oafishly barging through the sum of her efforts. i shall meditate upon my actions and how they harmed not just her, but all women of the world, and endeavour to do better
Gold and Enamel Bracelet from Sweden dated between 1600 - 1625 on display at the Royal Armoury in Stockholm, Sweden
This piece of jewelery is inscribed with the initials APS, Anna Principessa Sveciae (Princess Anna of Sweden) and is one of the few links to princesses of the Vasa royal family. In Sweden she is often overlooked but is remembered fondly in Poland. She accompanied her brother Sigismund when he became King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania in 1587. However in an attempt to deal with familial conflicts in Sweden, he sent her back to act as his proxy against his uncle Karl. This escalated further as the religious wars escalated and Sigismund was eventually deposed from the throne in Sweden for his Catholic faith. Anna returned to Poland among other Catholic Swedes.

it's really funny how the entire world basically just blew the fuck up six short years ago and nobody wants to admit that that may have had some lasting consequences lmao
like so much of Everything today is premised on the idea that the earth-shattering catastrophe which happened within living memory of everyone older than a third grader has had no meaningful material or psychological effects on the general public and i don't think that's good, lol.
"(some of) the top-line economic indicators (sorta) recovered (in most places) so everything is fine and we don't need to talk about it" is not a sustainable framework for interfacing with reality
"why is everyone so angry and paranoid now?" "why is politics so dysfunctional now?" "why is [x] [y] and [z] now? blah blah blah"

New Projector Short! George MacKay and Callum Turner are two fishermen who set sail on the mysterious Rose of Nevada and are sent back in time, in a slightly more mainstream film from Mark Jenkin, who famously shoots on clockwork Bolex, but is still uniquely his own.
