Details about today's performance! More than usual cause of reasons.

The fight in the library was brilliant! Scorpius got so upset during his monologue it was truly heartbreaking to watch. And I really liked how Albus reacted when he started the apology later. The comment about not talking enough about Scorpius' mom had such a sadness and guilt to it.

I love this scene in general. Because for one, it gives this one truly emotional outlet for Scorpius, but I like it most for Albus' reaction. I've seen so many different actors in this role and the way they react to Scorpius' outburst and how they apologize, for me, is one of the moments where I think you can really see their interpretations differ. And leaning into the guilt about it is one of my favorites. (since my favorite understudy whose reaction always read as 'oh god I fucked up. I upset scorpius! I could lose him over this and I can't lose him! He's the most important person to me! I have to make sure I never ever hurt him again!' is gone)

The owlery scene was also really good. It was so clear that Scorpius has feelings for Albus at this point. Maybe he doesn't quite know what exactly they are yet but there is no way you could've interpreted this scene differently today. Especially because Albus' adorable 'this is awkward but I'm pleased' reaction to the whole 'I'm fighting for you' build on that assumption too

The scene in Godric's Hollow didn't stand out today. Though both their reactions to figuring out the blanket thing were very excited.

And then the palace of Harmony staircase scene at the end. Albus really continued to run with the whole 'I have no idea what this is. It's new. It's kinda awkward. But I Really don't want it to stop' vibe and boy is that the cutest and most teenage thing. Like, he was ready for the hug! And then sure he says 'I thought we didn't hug' but what it felt like he's really saying is 'god I'm so glad this is happening!'

And then, the thing that really killed me cause I don't think I've ever seen or at least I never noticed it before: when Scorpius walked off, he did a little happy 'yes' gesture. You know the thing you do when you're really happy over something that just happened so you want to jump and scream in excitement but you're in public and the person involved is still right there so you have to tone it down? Yeah that. Which is so cute and just screams crush. Like why else would the mere fact that they shared a reciprocal hug and are gonna see each other again for dinner evoke such a reaction? Yeah. I loved that so much it had me grin like a Cheshire cat.

And bonus, unrelated side point because I gotta vent: again, Draco didn't have any sort of interaction with Scorpius during the final battle :/ for that alone I miss our old principal Draco so much. He was the only one who always made sure to physically protect Scorpius from Delphi the same way Harry and Ginny do Albus. Unfortunately it's a personal choice and not a stage direction which means no other Draco since does it and instead they just stand unconcerned next to Scorpius and wait for their turn to fire at Delphi... I think that might be my biggest pet peeve of the entire show.

Also the best part is JRK 1000% did NOT plan on Harry having a gay son, but it got taken out of her hands, and I think that's one of the most beautiful parts of Scorbus 🖤

- draco and harry’s conversations after the duel and in his office

- no more v-world scenes with draco and scorpius, polly, yann and karl

- ‘scorpius matters to me, you understand that don’t you?’
