@sealsbutlatin
some of u need sleep really really badly
the discourse on shaving and wearing makeup is starting again so i'll say one of the more subtle and consistent ways tme ppl have consistently fucked with me is by saying i'm not progressive for wanting to learn makeup and shave my legs lol
noooo don't transition that's so regressive haha. I'm progressive btw đ
cis women are not on the hook for normalizing unshaven legs or bare faces because their performances of femininity are thought of as natural and innate. they go unremarked upon
trans women's femininity is treated as contrived and artificial, so every little thing we do to perform it is thought of as a Choice, which means we are Choosing to uphold regressive beauty standards
we and cis women are both held to the standard that women are supposed to have bare legs, but we are thought of as being responsible for this standard, rather than being influenced and subjugated by it just like every other woman is
part of this comes from the idea that trans women are somehow immune to misogynistic standards. people seem to think that we won't face any consequence for not performing patriarchal standards of femininity, unlike ~real~ women, who are under ~real~ pressure to do these things. so the responsibility falls on us to normalize these things, because we are supposedly in the best position to do so
distressingly few people seem to have gotten it through their skulls that trans women are held to especially high standards of femininity, and the consequences for failing to perform it are especially bad
yes, we are punished for our femininity, but this does not mean we are rewarded for not achieving patriarchal femininity either. it's not either or. we are punished for both. there is not actually a win condition, trans womanhood is a double bind under patriarchy
Imagine being so braindead that you think the UK being one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world is a good thing đ€Ą
wtf are you talking about, they didn't "deplete" the nature of their country, they cultivated their wilderness over centuries into some of the most idyllic pastoral landscapes in the entire world. And they did such a good job of it that the phrase "English countryside" is now synonymous with beauty and serenity and peacefulness. They didn't destroy their country's nature, they became its caretaker, they're right to be proud of it. All you're doing is pretending that the only kind of nature that should count is whatever is completely untouched by human hands.
The UK is literally ranked in the bottom 10% of most nature-depleted countries in the world. The 2023 State of Nature report shows just how dire the situation is. A third of UK bird species have declined since the 1990s, 97% of the UK's wildflower meadows have been lost since the 1930s, raw sewage is constantly being pumped into our rivers and seas with agricultural slurry also causing massive damage to rivers, three quarters of Britain's hedgehogs have been lost in the past 20 years and UK butterfly numbers are at their lowest ever, a sign of impending ecosystem collapse. Plus people in Britain are the most disconnected from nature in Europe.
Not to mention over populated deer destroying what little is left due to a lack of predators, 60 million non-native birds released for sport shooting every year, plus huge amounts of wildlife crime, including large numbers of birds of prey being shot/poisoned.
There is nothing beautiful about a sterile, ecologically damaged landscape that contains nothing but sheep and deer. Don't comment on something you clearly know nothing about. I live in England. I can see first hand just how dire the situation is.
REBLOG TO ADD WE ARE NOW IN THE
BOTTOM 5%.
:)
The UK turned its entire countryside into a damn golf course and they're dumb enough to think that's a good thing ecologically.
theyre green for an amazing reason
continuously amazed at how easily people view JK rowling's bigotry as completely and entirely abstract. like she's not "a famous author who has some bad views" she's an influential bigot, as in, directly funds projects that harm trans women, directly contributes to transmisogynist legislation. to buy harry potter merch isn't just like, oh, i support the art not the artist. it's basically forking over cash to someone who is openly, publicly, fostering a more bigoted world through direct action. it's like watching elon musk do the hitler salute and going "oh well i don't know i just bought the cybertruck cause i like it"
let's all put our thinking caps on and think about if it's more important to be personally comforted by hate symbols or if it's better to be an ally to the trans woman you live with who constantly has to put up with your cutesy megaterf merch.
i don't want to be near someone who constantly invests their fucking hobby money in hate symbology. i don't care how much you like your fucking fandom plushies, i do not want to be reminded day in day out of world's most famous terf who would love for me to die. I don't care if your terf merch was ethically sourced, i don't care if your terf merch has a lot of emotional sentiment, you're cuddling up your bedroom with fucking swastikas for all i care. I don't really care that the trans woman you live with was mean to you actually.
For an interesting look into the mind of a transmisogynist, take a look at this post and pay attention to who the word "you" is referring to throughout this post and how it changes
OP starts off by declaring her hatred for people who use tma and tme, confidently lecturing and reminding 'you' [trans women/fems] about the fact that while 'you' [trans women/fems] experience transmisogyny, 'we' [trans men/mascs, not trans women] experience "regular misogyny"
Set aside for now the way op implicitly positions trans women as not being subject to "regular misogyny" same as her, and watch what she does next.
She recounts a recent shopping experience with her father and then starts going off about how if 'you' [OP's father] would just do a little bit of actual research then 'you' [OP's father] would not be so ignorant about period product. Why are 'you' [OP's father] stigmatizing 'your' [OP's father] child's body!
At the beginning of the post, OP is venting at and lecturing 'you' [trans women], but by the end OP is all caps yelling at 'you' [OP's father].
We can see that her father is the actual source of her current anger and frustration, but OP takes that anger and vents it at trans women and fems instead of her father who it should be rightfully directed at.
When we talk about trans women being "girls you can hit" or "whipping girls", its not just about physical violence directed at us, its also about the way people like OP will use us as sin-eaters and scapegoats for the actions of others. OP is having a problem with her father, but instead of dealing with that problem in a healthy way she instead decides that the best thing to do is offload her anger onto trans women as a collective class that she feels an unjustified sense of superiority over.
I don't even have the words right now to describe how angry this whole "transfem headmate in a transmasc body" makes me.
I hope this person gets hit by a bus.
This interaction summed it up perfectly to me
The whole thing is just another example of transmisogynists believing being transfem is just an `~âaestheticâ~` that anyone can embody, and its only being transmasc that is a material reality exclusive to transmasc people.
cat
if youâre a certain level of tall as a trans woman people will start acting like they genuinely believe itâs ok to treat you like transmisogynistic futa porn is real life and youâre the futa
The thing about the "trans women are capable of harm" type posts and blogs like transmascvoicesproject is that on a daily basis trans women are told that we are predators, that we are violent, that we have the rape organ, that we solely exist for fetishistic reasons and that makes us dangerous to be around. Society never lets us forget this. Cinema never lets us forget this. Terfs never let us forget this. Political parties on either side of the spectrum never let us forget this. These people post like they live in a world where trans women/transfeminine people are shielded from the consequences of our actions by our identities, but that's a fantasy. We are not only held accountable for our actions, but responses to our mistakes and transgressions are often extremely worse than that of other people. Not to mention, a lot of trans women are lied about, marked rapist/pedophile/abusive by an abusive, transphobic ex, and then isolated and removed from friends groups for the crime of coming out as trans. This is so, so, so common.
We do not need you to remind us we are capable of harm, trust me when I say we fucking know.
Every trans girl I know is too afraid of being seen as a predator to allow herself to be intimate with someone else. It takes years of understanding ourselves as something outside of the common archetype for us to get over that.
But go ahead. Tell me again that I'm capable of harm.

Never forget what Matthew Mullenweg did to Predstrogen. Never forget our sisters vanishing faster and faster, while staff jumps between denying and admitting it was them.
