the Gotham/ithaca effect

Having navigated diverse social groups in my lifetime, I have discovered there is a strange liminal overlap space where the hetero, hyper-masculine, far-right, men and the the gays, theys, and the mentally ill friends are in alignment, and that is with Batman and the greek (and roman) empire.

Both for different reasons, of course, but I think it’s fascinating that somehow, a hyperfixation on Batman & co. and ancient world powers has been a powerful social currency no matter what circles I find myself in. 

because I have very different political views than my many conservative uncles, when thanksgiving comes around, the only safe space is in Gotham city and Ithaca. 

Thus, the GrecoRoman/turkey/batman theory was born.
