Dwarves are short, powerfully built, with presumably a strong circulatory system and a culturally strong warrior ethos as well as a cultural tradition of strong and intricate craftsmanship. All of these factors make them ideal jet fighter pilots.
Oh, SHIT, and then that leads to Dwarven astronauts? Good with the cramped conditions, modules that are designed to let the astronauts get their hands into the wiring if they needed to, rugged designs, less likely to go stir crazy if they don't get out in the open air. They'd be incredible.
I see only one Issue. No way a subterranean race is not going to be afraid heights. Especially one whose physiology is designed to be sturdy and immobile in the face of aggression. In the air is exactly where their evolutionary instincts DONT want to be.
No race is a monolith however. Humans often do things that would cripple other humans with fear. So I propose this compromise:
Dwarven pilots are very rare, but they're invariably the best there is. But the ones that do it are daredevil adrenaline junkies that are crazier than a sack full of wet cats.
You think the people that made this
No guardrails, no nothing, have a problem with heights?
No, it's the vast open spaces that are the issue. Getting the dwarf into the jet or the space capsule is easy, getting the dwarf up into the air inside them should be near impossible. No dwarf is going to soar through the sky with nothing in all directions, far as the eye can see. Absolutely no EVA of any kind will be possible. They need to be given the jobs where you have to look at instruments and control buttons all day, not the ones where you look out the window, or leave an airlock.
