i wanted to draw an outfit for link, and then zelda showed up, and then GANONDORF showed up. so. i dunno. an au where theyre adventurers or something. its very late and i am very tired.
do you ever become obsessed with a character and you just go "of fucking course its that one" at yourself because you are so incredibly predictable
On twitter I’m seeing dozens of threads from Black activists warning people against burnout, giving all sorts of useful tips about preventing and managing it for the sake of a long-term, sustainable effort.
On tumblr I’m seeing a hell of a lot of young white kids yelling at anyone who actually follows those steps, and acting like burnout is a moral falling rather than a well-proven psychological phenomenon.
Be careful who you get your information from. Don’t let guilt lead you to make choices that will harm both you and the movement.
I’m going to reblog this again since I see more individuals are inquiring about burnout prevention tips in the notes and it’s why I sought out this resource. I hope it helps you!

Anger and rage are very real but right now the fuckers want blame, they want fracture . Scared and alone, humans are easier to control.
fools will face the same reality as the rest of us, let it be. Pull together. It’s the only way we’ll survive
This may seem silly but this is what I needed to hear in 2016, so I’m going to say it now. It’s okay to feel hopeless or angry or scared or betrayed or even just mildly nauseous. However you feel is the right reaction for you. You’re just not allowed to kill yourself. You are too good, too valuable, too important for this to be the thing that takes you. Yes the world is a mess, but taking one good person out of it isn’t going to make it any better.
So take care of yourself. Wrap yourself in that blanket. Get that hug. Eat that mug cake. Find your life preserver whatever it may be and keep going. You are stronger than you realize.
Deciding to do something when you’re feeling defeated is hard. If all you can take care of is you today, focus on doing that. Tomorrow or a week from now you can look at what your community needs to do to weather the storm in the long term. Yes communities are hurting now, but having to grieve one more person isn’t going to make anyone’s life any better. Please keep going. Please don’t let this election take you too.
at some point we gotta acknowledge that getting the majority of your news and takes and general opinions from tumblr is not meaningfully different than getting it from tiktok even though on here it's in textual form. understanding the world through the lens of viral videos vs understanding it through breathless unsourced text posts written by dykeastarion69
#this is what made me switch to actually reading news sites regularly some years ago#(and when something's controversial or doesn't seem quite right I look up multiple news sources to try to get a fuller picture) (@thirddoctor)
A quick reminder that the Associated Press is totally free, and also often covers the news stories that Tumblr users say no one is covering. NPR is also free. So is ProPublica.
Also, here's a chart that might be helpful, in terms of determining bias and reliability: Interactive Media Bias Chart

Summoned
not submission. I really hate the "My OC, my rules" thing. Cause like, no? Just because they are your oc doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with them. If you want to make your oc suffer and not like them get help, you deserve to lose rights over them. Especially if you only do that stuff to purposely trigger people. Once you do that, your oc no longer belongs to you. they belong to the public who will take better care of them instead
Making a comment to get this to post.
You do not get to take someone else’s OCs for yourself just because you don’t like how their creator is treating them.
I’m absolutely adding this to my Online Entitlement collection. Raymond’s already on there.
this reminds me of the time that someone asked me to change my name because they had bad memories of someone named trixie
god what a wild day
I took the liberty of harvesting more examples from the notes. This genre of guy is an invasive species to fandom and freelance art spaces alike.
This entire post reminds me of how I RP’d with someone and they got upset over how my OC wasn’t reacting to things the way they wanted him to, so when we agreed to end the RP she didn’t want to break our characters up and instead changed my OC’s name, gave him some highlights, and called him “hers.”
living with ADHD is being stuck in a Matrix of your own making, and forgetting you made it
Would be asleep right now, but there are Fictional Characters to imagine in emotional situations. You know how it is.

Knowing that Howl went "Fuck finishing this PhD, I'm ditching this universe to go chase girls, consort with demons, and live my wizard ladykiller dreams, while owning my own home at age 27" makes him much more understandable as a character
