As a society, we need to go back to understanding that strangers on the internet are, you know, strangers. I feel lately that I'm seeing a rise in 'An author I love blocked me because they took my comment the wrong way' posts on the ao3 subreddit, and then the comment is them calling the author a fucking bitch or something like that.
Don't do this. Tone doesn't translate well in text, and if you don't have a rapport with that author, they are not going to interpret, 'You're a fucking bitch' as, 'Author I hate you for being so talented and making me feel so keenly.' They're going to interpret it as you being an asshole. You can shit talk with your friends because you have an established relationship with them and can distinguish between playful banter and genuine anger. You do not have this with a stranger, no matter how much you like their fics. You will have a much more pleasant time in fandom and not get cockblocked from interacting with your favorite writers if you remember this.

Furina feels ready to show everyone she can use her new Vision and protect Fontaine. She just wasn't expecting a threat of the Abyss to be her great opportunity.
Good thing there are others that are ready to lend a hand after the ordeal.

We want to hear from you! 📣 🗯️
Over the past two years, the mess that is generative AI has barrelled its way through human creative spaces. It’s been… a shit show.
The effects of this hostile takeover are well reported: slop, enshittification, deepfakes, misinformation. AI came straight for creative work first (because it was illegally trained on it 🙃)—and yet, beyond the (very real) concern of industry redundancies, and the (dubious) claims of AI “replacing” human creatives, there’s notably a lack of discussion about how it’s impacted creatives just being creative.
Writing, scrolling, reading online—the basic ways we live our daily creativity are being impacted by This Thing, and it deserves more attention.
We know you have an opinion—and we know it’s good. We’d love if you’d share it with us.
The survey is anonymous and takes about 3 minutes. We’ll compile some of the findings and publish for all to read. (And if you want to be quoted in a future essay or social posts, please feel free to leave your name/pseudonym or social handles in the optional contact form at the end.)
We're committed to supporting human creatives in the age of AI—and we’re working to build a human-led, human-affirming network to make sure that human creativity is protected. Because without art, we’d be really screwed.
So please, tell us how we can help! Take the survey here.

makes me sad when people run their own fics (or anybody else’s fics) through an ai checker.
1. an ai checker itself is, I believe, ai.
2. ai checker is known to be unreliable. it’s known to have incorrectly flagged human-made works as ai, and ai-generated works as human-made.
3. ai itself is trained on real human’s works, in order to mimic real human’s works and how real humans write. and whether or not you like it, ai as a writing tool is getting better and more developed. because it has more and more works to train on. so by running a fic through its machine, you are giving it more work to train on.
running a fic through an ai checker will not actually prove anything. it will either make you question yourself as a writer, or it will open a door for other writers to get harassed and wrongly accused of using ai.
if you suspect somebody’s fic is ai and if that bothers you, click away from the fic. harassing the writer or making a call out post will only encourage witch hunt behavior, and witch hunt behavior means innocent writers can and will get wrongly accused too. again, you cannot know for sure if a fic is ai unless the author themself says so. but even then, the best thing to do if it bothers you is click away, block the writer, scroll past the work. harassment, accusations and call out posts do more harm than good to the writing community.
“but why shouldn’t we harass writers if they admit to using ai”
1. under no circumstances will I condone harassment. I believe there are better, more productive ways to solve a problem.
2. chances are that harassing writers who openly use ai won’t make them stop using ai. it will just make them hide the fact they use ai — therefore their works are no longer tagged as ai, therefore you can’t know for sure that it’s ai, therefore there’s a chance of you, or anybody who is otherwise against ai, reading and giving it kudos without knowing that it’s ai.
3. the most efficient way you can avoid ai-generated works is if “writers” tag these works as ai. they will almost certainly stop tagging their works as such if you harass them.
Copyright class actions could financially ruin AI industry, trade groups say.
AI industry groups are urging an appeals court to block what they say is the largest copyright class action ever certified. They’ve warned that a single lawsuit raised by three authors over Anthropic’s AI training now threatens to “financially ruin” the entire AI industry if up to 7 million claimants end up joining the litigation and forcing a settlement.

Authors have until March 30th, 2026 (That is just 9 days as of this reblog, which I am posting on March 21st, 2026) to file their claim against Anthropic to be reimbursed up to $3,000 per work found in the list.
Updated February 18, 2026 IMPORTANT: The Claims Deadline Is March 30 Background Bartz v. Anthropic is one of the major copyright lawsuits b

!!!SIGNAL BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!!!
Be careful of the double-speak in the Update Post.
Staff has officially posted an update regarding the reblog decoupling, and while they are reversing the change for now, we need to look closely at the language they are using. This is a classic example of corporate "double speak" designed to de-escalate a PR crisis while keeping the door open for the same harmful features later.
The Post: Reblog Update: We’re Reversing the Change
The Red Flag:
"We still believe there's a better version of how reblogs can work. One that gives every voice in a chain the credit it deserves. But we want to get there with you."
The Breakdown: When they say they want to give every voice the credit it deserves, they are still justifying the decoupling of notes. They are framing the destruction of the original creator's attribution as a feature for the rebloggers or the loss of community. Their goal hasn't changed. They just realized their current execution was a technical and social disaster.
They also mention working "directly with some of you." This often means selecting a small, curated group of "power users" who may not prioritize the accessibility or safety needs that we have been fighting for.
if you comment some demanding shit like this on fanfic writers’ works, you don’t deserve the privilege of getting to read fanfiction for free
This is why I've set my fic comments to only those who have an account
So if they leave a shitty comment like this i can report & block them for being POS
It also eliminates the bot comments which this may be a bot tbh someone or multiple someones have set up bots just to bully writers
I hate that I had to switch it to registered users only but I am not being bullied on my own fan fics, u know?
"...I don't have to choose" UH So I didn't draw any WuWa for like....6 weeks because I was...too busy drawing Hundred Line haha. But yay! Happy Luuk release day! I hope everyone won their 50/50!
