"I love my body enough to go through whatever hell is necessary to make it feel like home."
-shards of blue
oh yeah, inducing hormone imbalance that negatively affects your health, in potentially serious and non-reversible ways over the long term is exactly what i picture when i think of as 'self-love'. Slicing off healthy tissue or rearranging clusters of delicate nerves that might prevent you from having functioning genitalia in the future, too.
And they call this mutilation "being their authentic selves" like no, accepting your body as it is is the most authentic thing you can do. Nothing less authentic than heavily relying on fake hormones, extensive plastic surgery, and using enough make-up to paint the Great Wall of China. It's the most fake idea humans have yet come up with.
Imagine saying this in the context of BDD (Body dysmorphic disorder) or anorexia/bulimia. No one would agree. Yet here we are
your natural body is literally your most authentic self what do they not get about that. your body IS YOU
You better not wear glasses, or braces, or dye your hair. You better not take any medications or God forbid you wear makeup. I hope I don't see you working out or doing any excercises to alter your natural muscles so that you can get better at sports. Better not take voice lessons either,, because that's altering your natural voice. I hope you won't need any reconstructive surgeries. You better not dress in any sort of fashion to express yourself.
Your "natural body" is a genetic blank slate mix-up of two wacked up homophobes who decided not to have an abortion). Your self is a soul. You can love yourself and your body, while you customize your blank slate to fit your soul a bit.
Besides, do any research and you'll learn that trans people have a biological component (usuly due to hormones in utero) that causes many of them to develop brains that more closely resemble their gender (not their agab). I literally have an AFAB body that grows a mustache and gives me masculine features and a deep voice, because my "natural" testosterone levels test twice what the average female levels are. That same natural body gave me the BRCA-1 gene which means I have a 1 in 3 chance of debeloping breast cancer- meaning that my lack of acceptance toward my chest is likely a good thing. Accepting my inherent transness was a part of Accepting and loving my body.
Grow up, kid.
“Grow up kid”? You’re twenty three. You are a kid and this attitude demonstrates it.
As a child, you have a low understanding of cause, effect and consequence. Since your brain doesn’t stop maturing until about 25, we won’t hold your immaturity against you, but we will provide the courtesy of bringing you up to speed.
Optometrists prescribe glasses to correct defects in the eyeball that cause visual distortion. They’re correcting an issue, which is why people wear them. Furthermore, glasses are a low-risk and high-reward medical change; you can remove them painlessly at will, but provide great benefit to the user when worn.
Dying hair — cosmetic.
Getting piercings — cosmetic.
Medication — medically required, and prescribed by a trained physician to correct a disorder within the body.
Working out — enhancing the body’s natural kinaesthetic ability. (Your analogy here would be to compare a naturally talented swimmer like Penny Oleksiak, and then compare her to an East German female swimmer circa the 1980s — there’s a reason steroid doping is illegal: it’s bad for you.)
Voice training — acceptable for singers when used to train their natural voice. Forcing the voice into an unnatural register can cause damage to the vocal chords, just ask Adele.
Reconstructive surgeries — reconstruct the body as it was; nobody gets a third arm.
So as you can see, your examples are either superficial (hair colour and glasses) or medical necessities (prosthetics, medication).
None of those things change the fundamental reality of the matter; a person who loses their leg is still a member of a bipedal species.
A man who fillets his dick and staples it into a surgically carved makeshift vagina isn’t a woman.
He’s a man who’s undergone some pretty aggressive plastic surgery in order to — hopefully — bear a superficial resemblance to a woman.
Your natural body isn’t a blank slate because people aren’t Sims.
You grow body hair because women can be hirsute, and the fact that your hormonal imbalance causes hair growth is just more proof that you are fundamentally female. If you were male, hirsuteness would be natural. Because you’re female, it takes polycystic ovaries to accomplish the same feat.
And only females have ovaries, so congrats on your peach fuzz but I moustache you a very important question:
What part of the brain — specifically: frontal cortex, parietal, occipital, corpus callousum, occipital, nuchal, white matter? Grey matter? Pink matter? — is this “male” essence found in?
And:
If changes in trans brains can be identified “in utero”… why are MRIs not the diagnostic criteria for determining transgender care?
How do you know you have a male brain if you haven’t been MRI’d for it?
“Souls”
Trans ideology is a new religion. Stop forcing people to try and believe your own religious bullshit. Believe what you want. Don’t pretend it’s scientific or fact. Keep your mind body split to your own church. Say five TWAW for talking to a feminist on the internet. Repent.
all this talk about souls and fuzzy feelings in the brain, and they have the nerve to tell us to grow up? lmao
'customise your blank slate' is the most dystopian thing Ive ever heard
the funny thing is too, dying my hair doesn’t mean i’m like… actually that. I dye my hair red, but i still know and say i’m a brunette, i just dye my hair for the look. i know it’s fake. my world would not shatter either if i suddenly couldn’t dye it anymore. if someone said “you’re not actually a redhead,” i’d say “damn right!” i don’t go “actually i am a redhead can’t you see” or “i identify as a redhead”
