I've been poor my entire life and yet somehow I've managed to avoid invading other countries and murdering civilians just fine.

As long as there isn't a draft, which there hasn't been since the 70s, every single person in the military is there because they CHOSE to be, and they DECIDED that they were okay with committing war crimes in exchange for their own financial gain.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to be a part of the military without being utterly morally bankrupt, and to hold up poor people as if we're all brainless idiots scrabbling around in the dirt until someone holds up a dollar in front of us and we follow it with dollar signs in our eyes into the enlistment office, is fucking insulting.
