I wanted to make a post to talk about an experience I just had with Lord Hermes!
I was ferociously searching for a very particular pair of earbuds, couldn’t find them for the life of me. I needed them to check and see if the old iPod nano I’d found still worked. Eventually, I made an offering to Lord Hermes and asked for his aid.
I spent another ten or so minutes still fruitlessly searching before deciding to forego the affair all together.
I go to plug in the iPod again, and no sooner than I do does my stick of deodorant fall off the shelf on its own. I followed its path with my eyes, trying to figure out what just happened, only to immediately spot the missing headphones, tangled on the doorknob on the opposite wall with another similarly coloured cord.
I can only imagine that as being Hermes being like “here! Come on! You can’t miss this!”
This isn’t the first time He’s helped me find missing things, but every time it brings a smile to my face. Love Him!
Does anyone have any advice or tips on cartomancy using playing cards and a guide to reading them? I’m super closeted with a house of religious people so making do with what I have
I did a tarot and have them all written out, it’s just a matter of making sure I’ve translated properly and connect it 😔
I’ve been where you are, so here’s a link to the guide I use!

Returning to the gods after a long time away from worship and just. Feeling unconditional love regardless. Like "you've lost nothing. we were here the whole time." Incredible. Such a warm, honey-coated feeling.
Saw this post after a long time away from proper worship. I can only take this as a sign. Thank you for sharing.
One day I'll make a proper post about how calling Dionysos just "the god of wine" doesn't really work in modern context. But I can't articulate myself right now so you guys just have to imagine what I would say.
Real as fuck
Does anyone know what some specific signs of Lord Poseidon are? I have a suspicion that He’s calling me and have invited Him to send signs as confirmation, but I’m not entirely sure of what to look for. Is there anything beyond His standard imagery that I should be watching for, or is He pretty by-the-book generally?
Okay, so an update for this post:
About two days after making it, I had one of the most vivid dreams of my entire life.
I was standing in an enormous room of white marble, completely alone. Then, I saw a huge, wriggling whale skeleton flying through the air. As it approached, the bones shifted and flesh began to take root on it, becoming a massive, almost kelpie-like horse that stared down at me. Not threatening, but definitely powerful and with far more intelligence than your average horse. It was blue-green with a mane of what may have been seaweed or some other marine plants.
The scenery shifted and I feel like I got a glimpse as to His palace/domain? It felt like there were two dwellings, one that was a coral reef and thriving in the warm, temperate waters. It never bleached nor suffered and provided a home for all. The other was a whale fall, still being picked clean by the scavengers. Far larger than normal and resided in the darkness of the abyss. In the dream, I stood in the black that housed the whale fall as what seemed to be a spotlight illuminated it. Beside me stood a tall, muscular man whose face I could not see, but he held a trident, enormous and deep bronze.
He spoke to me, gesturing to the floating bits of flesh still clinging to the bones and saying in a very matter-of-fact tone: “When one dies in my domain, their meat eventually comes here to feed the scavengers. Such is life.”
I think I’m gonna take that as a pretty clear sign, holy shit.
Where I notice Lord Hermes...
In retail/fast food jobs
In a cup of coffee/an energy drink
In the poor animals killed on the road
In public transit
In the long, deep conversations at 2am
In the sheep in the fields
Also in the cows in the fields
In large crowds
In the crows that hang out around town
When crossing intersections (especially when they're clear)
Where do you notice Lord Hermes?
- In the fluttering wings of clever magpies
- In long drives where the highway stretches to the horizon
- In the chaos of airport terminals
- In game-winning dice rolls and well-timed Nat20s
- In hitting every green light on your communte
- In deciding to take the long way home, solely because you like the journey
- In that brief startle when waking up in a new place for the first time
- In moments of liminality, where you don’t know where you’re going next
- In moments of grief, where you have to trust His loving hand to guide a soul truly.
A personal story...
A while ago, my friends and I were going to leave to do...something. I forget what. But we were just about to leave when one friend realize he lost his wallet. We looked for at LEAST an hour. And we looked everywhere. It just wasn't there. I prayed to Hermes and offered him some wine if we could find it. A few minutes later, we lifted a bag of pasta on the table and there was the wallet. Everyone swore we looked under that bag of pasta already. But there it was! Now whenever they lose something they ask me to pray to Hermes.
Has Hermes helped you find anything you've lost?
I was in the middle of a last-minute cross-stitch project a couple of weeks ago when all of a sudden the thread came off my needle and I lost it.
I scoured the couch for it, spent probably a good 15-20 minutes searching before I remembered this post.
I stopped my search, took a deep breath, and made an offering to Hermes for His help.
Sure enough, as soon as I walked back into my living room again, there it was right in the middle of the floor.

Do you have any songs that you associate with Lord Hermes?
Kickstart my Heart by Mötley Crüe has always been a big one for me :)
