So I finally made the side blog I've been vaguely talking about for a while. This is basically just the place for me to dump all of my original posts from my main blog, because I reblog a ton of stuff, so if you're just interested in my art, writing, and analysis, come here.
Tags underneath this post, #aly yaps, #aly's art, and #aly's writing are for all of those in case you want to filter, and #the rising storm for my original story. I also use #sideblog steven for any and all posts, that's just a funny reference for me lmao.
My fandom of choice tends to change over time, but right now, I would say most of my work is in the gosiplier fandom, plus some tma and tadc stuff on the side.
Aaaaaand here's my ao3: I_defy_categorization
Here's my main blog: I-defy-categorization
I'll probably edit this later to add stuff I've forgotten but yeah enjoy!
β¨πStuntstar (Actor Mark x Colt Seavers) Propagandaπ€Έβ¨:
Because I'm actually going insane over these stupid little guys mostly in private and I need to talk about it. So, some reasons why you, yes you π«΅ reading this right now, should get invested in stuntstar:
Reason 1:
Because frankly I think Colt would be really annoyed with himself for starting to fall for a douche like Actor Mark at all, and it's funny to think about him just. Realizing it's happening in real time.
Reason 2:
Because yes, Mark definitely is an asshole, no doubt about it, but he, Damien, and Wilford were once friends, good friends even, and he and Celine must have gotten married for a reason. Clearly there must be some sweetness underneath.
Reason 3:
Because I think Colt is actually kind of the perfect person to uncover that. He's not gonna roll over and just let him do whatever he wants, he clearly has some level of sass, but he's also very genuinely kind and sweet.
Reason 4:
Because Colt is very avoidant when he starts to have genuine problems, and Mark is many things, but someone who would just give up on him is not one of them.
Reason 5:
Because gay panic is funny and by God do I think Colt would cause it. He's hot and cute. At the same time. Double whammie for our good friend Mark, who I don't think is anywhere near self-aware enough to realize he's attracted to men until it punches him in the face.
Okay that's probably enough for now--but just. Consider stuntstar. Enemies to lovers my beloved πππ
AND me and my brother already wrote a fic about them and I'm planning on more so if you wanna check it out πππ
There's a chance for some romance (but frankly I'm feeling nothing)
I think that both Grace and Simon should be trans men, but neither of them said a thing fearing how the other could react. In one hand, Simon thinks that Grace may have a "old way" of thinking since Simon is not sure how been trans was percieved in 2026. On the other hand, Grace doesn't know with what kind of believes Simon grow up with in Eden, only that this place seem to have a very religious focus, and trying to avoid conflict he just never mentioned.
The thing is that they aren't lying, they just never ask and they do not have the courage to ask. They would try to look for clues to know how the other would ract, but do not want to risk it and said it aloud.
I thing they should be walking in eggshells around each other until one of the fallin sick and the eridian that is in charge of making sure that the humans in Erid are healthy, Rocky and Adrian decide to make some physical evaluation so they can compare a healthy human body, with a sick one and know what is wrong by by comparison.
Simon and Grace panic, trying to dissuade this from happening since the physical exams would show what they do not want to say and may show a lot more of differences they weren't planing to explain, just for Adrian and Rocky saying that besides a couple of things, like Simon lack of an arm and Grace need for glasses there is not a lot of difference between them, at least in the physical sense.
This make Simon and Grace point at each other and be like "You too?"
I can't help but notice I've been talking and thinking and drawing a lot of these stupid little guys and yet another complete fanfiction has failed to materialize on my computer. How could this be
Man I really would love to start properly stuntstar and actor Mark posting but how do I explain that this asshole is the one I've gotten attached to?
Like that bitch? That's the one my brain chose? He has a singular scene of being alive in the main piece of media he's from and half of his other screentime is a long-ass self-absorbed villain monologue. How did this happen. Why.
And the worst part is that's only half of it.
Because I've genuinely gotten far too deep into micro-analyzing why he is the way he is--and why I think he still could be genuinely redeemed and deserves love--that I fear I would be simply be unable to engage with at least 3/4 of the fandom.
Like,,, "okay, yes, obviously we've already covered the fact that he is clearly using the overconfidence as a mask and has (canonically!) had major bouts of depression and suicidality, and all his actions are ultimately motivated simply by hurt--hurt stewed in for far too long and used to justify hurting others of course, but simply hurt nonetheless--now, can we finally start to get into his clinical diagnosis and how he's going to unlearn his hyper perfectionism and need to perform at all time--"
And just.
"Oh. Oh you think he's an irredeemable asshole who needs to 'get over' his wife leaving him for his best friend--oh sorry, 'stop being butthurt that he couldn't keep his woman around.'
I see... I fear we simply will not be able to have a productive discussion, have a nice day."
Back to pondering him for hours, and yapping the ears off of like the five other people I have talked with extensively about this fucker.
I just- I love him. I'm so sorry to anyone who hates him, like I know he's an asshole but damn it he's MY asshole now. And by God it's gonna be a lot of work but I am going to redeem him thank you very much. He will not escape the character development.
Oh and also the yaoi. That too is inescapable. Ily Colt Seavers πππ...Sorry for making you put up with him. You'll like him eventually I swear.
Anyways.
This is all to say that I do actually have the first stuntstar fic written and ready to be posted in a day or two after some editing. And when I find a name because I'm struggling and none of the song lyrics on my playlist are woRKING.
Maybe some more actor mark yappage to come? If I can find the proper words for it that aren't just me vibrating and rattling the bars of my enclosure.
This is how I feel when people say Mark is nothing more than an asshole btw. Like in the least offensive way I can say that,,, it's all a facade guys. It's all lies. And I will be slowly tearing it all down for him so I can systematically build a more healthy sense of self btw.
This is such an oddly specific ask for help but I'm just gonna go for it because I really do want advice and I'm quickly finding the rest of the internet cannot be trusted to give me info on NPD that isn't heavily villainized.
Basically, I'm trying to write a fanfic with a character who I strongly believe to have clinical NPD, and I'm just looking for any advice on how to write him, from people who actually know what it's like. I don't have the disorder myself and I want to make sure I'm making accurate representation, because yeah looking anywhere else I very quickly find that it's so villainized it's actually insane.
Honestly I would also take anything from people who are actual psychologists or therapists who work with cluster b disorders. Or if there's anyone who has a partner with NPD but doesn't have the disorder themselves, that would also be great. (Mostly because it's a shipfic) And maybe some specific information on narcissistic collapse would be super helpful, but also do not feel an obligation to share that because I can only imagine that could be not fun to talk about.
(Also gonna put it out there, you don't have to answer or share anything if you don't want obviously, but any info you want to give me would be very helpful.)
The way I hesitated over the choice between Simon and Actor, like "am I really gonna pick this asshole over like... the character of all time?" But unfortunately I am far far too deep into dissecting everything about Actor for my stuntstar fic so. I fear his bitchy behavior as a mask for his hurt has entranced me too deeply.
I feel like Dave should be higher, but alas there are simply too many good Mark egos man, like tell me why Wilford is 7, I love him, but there's so many options.
Some art for the digital circus fic I just released!! Which you can read right here if you'd like :3
Stabbing Stars Through My Back
Jax and Pomni go stargazing... again. I know they already did it in canon, but they clearly spent some time together before episode 6, so this is just my take on what that may have looked like!
Constantly torn between loving bloodymary because it's a fun crackship that allows Simon to get a happy ending and Grace to have another human and being really annoyed as an aroace person. Completely understanding the frustration a lot of others feel in finally getting a story that is 100% about strong platonic relationships and yet. And yet. Every allo person ever saw it and then completely threw out the obvious aroace coding in favor of shipping. Like they literally always do. (*cough cough* remembering the *canonically* ace character of Jonathan Sims and look. He can have sex. There are authors/artists who show him having sex and still being ace, and try to be clear about how that affects things and I love them. But so many of you don't even consider how his ace-ness would change the way he views it and it's kind of pissing me off--okay sorry for the derail.)
So I am once again asking all allo people who write bloodymary to make it just a little bit less strictly romantic and/or sexual.
Look, you don't have to stop shipping. I don't like telling people what they can and cannot enjoy, because I think that trying to decide what is "acceptable" to enjoy sucks so much joy out of fandom. But please for a moment at least consider an aroace lense to this.
Make them platonic. Make them a qpr (and I do mean genuinely changing how they interact with each other, not just throwing the label on it and calling it a day--like for example maybe kissing is fine but they don't make out. Or maybe how open Grace is to physical affection changes based on the day and they figure out a rhythm.) If you're dead set on romantic feelings--weird hill to die on but okay maybe you just want to write/draw them being intimate--you could make Grace demi and highlight how unusual of an experience this is and how out of his depth he feels. I'm also a fan of Simon being some flavor of aroace too, and I can only imagine intimacy was something he never really got to experience at all, or pushed down in favor of his other duties.
Just. Please I'm begging you. Look, I love shipping. I'm here with you guys. But don't have that be the end all be all, because it can be really disheartening to be constantly told "you'll find the right person" and "it'll happen eventually" and to have every where you look be filled to the brim with romance and sex, as though just a few experiences could somehow be the pinnacle of human experience. I am enough on my own, but it's hard to remember that when all of society tells you that you need another person to be fulfilled.
Reblogging with my comment on another post because I had a lot to say. And I'm honestly scared to post this because I don't want to rock the boat or ruin anyone else's enjoyment of the ship, frankly feel free to ignore me and move on with your life. But this is also my Opinions Blog where I can say whatever the fuck I want.
Can you guys see how this is annoying for aroace people? I guarantee there are many of you who don't even see this as aphobia, because it's not intentional. But it is a noticeable pattern that everything needs to be about love and sex and I'm not going to pretend that that messaging doesn't get to me sometimes. Just something to consider.
