Here it is in ASL aswell!
This game is so fuckin goooood aaaaaaaaaa
MILES MORALES CAN SIGN I AM CRYING THEY INCLUDED THIS IN THE GAME THEY EVEN LOOK DECENT (though there’s a miss on the fact that his mask stays on, I do love that Deadpool in the comics lifts his mask when he signs with Clint because facial expression is important in ASL)
One plus is that his body language helps offset that. He emphasizes it more by throwing back his head to show he’s laughing, nodding his head, and showing it through his limbs and torso. ASL expression isn’t limited to facial, it’s also body language!
Yes, it’s not perfect but I can suspend my disbelief as a deafie.
Don’t leave out any hard of hearing children who come to your door this Halloween, take a minute out of your day to learn a few seasonal asl signs! These are two different variations of “Happy Halloween” Click here for my source.
halloween is for everyone!!!!!!
this is honestly the cutest thing ever 10/10 will do this year💗💗
And here are the British Sign Language versions. (I love the BLS sign for Halloween. It’s so cute.)
Deaf inclusion for every holiday!
Love this! I also posted a video the other day of different signs from about 90+ countries for “Happy Halloween” :)
Two years ago, I had a Deaf girl show up in my drivethru on Halloween. Her mom was kind of sad when I tried to offer the girl candy, and you could tell it’d been a rough night. I asked her to get the girl’s attention, and then signed to her the way I learned from those top gifs. She started laughing and clapping her hands at once, and when I held out the bowl of candy she was DELIGHTED. I think there’s a very serious possibility I was the only person all night who was able to share with her that way.
It matters. Learn.
IT MATTERS. ASL is the THIRD most used language in the US yet most schools don’t offer it as a language course.
If you are at all interested, even in self-study online, check out www.lifeprint.com. It’s free and an absolutely marvelous program.
This only took forever to make OTL i hope i didnt screw up the signs
But hey Link signing is rad nintendo make it canon
EDIT: reuploaded! tumblr fix your videos
How to tell a deaf dog it's time for a walk.
really it is wild that sign language exists and is perfectly accessible and yet its not a taught second language in schools
yeah you can use it under water and in situations where u need to be silent and thats all cool and everything but you can also use it to talk to deaf people which is more than enough reason already. just let sign language be an option in schools.
Put together an ASL packet to give out at Clexacon!
that post about facial expressions was super helpful, thanks!
No problem anon, I’m glad I could help!
hi, i'm sorry if this is weird, but i've looked it up a lot and i can't find any information: i'm autistic and struggle a lot with reading facial expression, controlling my own facial expression, and maintaining eye contact. how much will this affect my ASL fluency?
Sorry it took so long to answer this anon! Trouble on the mun’s end of things.
While I can’t speak for ASL specifically, as I’m only fluent in Australian Sign Language, I can say that issues with facial expression will affect your fluency. Theoretically you should be able to manage with not maintaining eye contact as primarily you’ll be focused on hands, but facial expression is used to convey meaning, particularly with emotions, open-ended vs closed-ended questions, and negatives (shaking the head while signing to mean ‘not happy’ instead of ‘happy’).
Unfortunately your fluency will be affected, but I can say that you won’t be completely unable to sign without it. You or whoever you’re signing with may need to seek clarification at times, but that’s a normal part of learning the language and everyone has done it.
Some symbols I made yesterday for the page number buttons on an Auslan website. Based on the way numbers are counted on the hand in Australian Sign Language.
