I have no idea if I've made one of these before so have this

Hello! I am Shockwave the host of my system and I use he/she/they pronouns and I'm aroace and agender! I like to ramble about fandoms I like!

I like Stray, Madness combat, Creatures of Sonaria, and lots of other stuff I don't talk a lot about. Sometimes I draw and write. The problem tho is that I'll start stories and never finish them. I have lots of ocs, some I like to draw more than others.

This upcoming set of bases is meant to be mixed and matched into different combos with the different versions I have created (different eyes, mouths, lack of wings, limbs, etc.) and having this base dragon will make any edits for the Wings of Fire versions much easier!

While this isn't news to anyone who works in this space, it is useful to have this water-is-wet research to affirm that Indigenous knowledge and land management are extremely effective at storing carbon and protecting biodiversity.

I want to draw special attention to this part of the article:

New research shows that approach overlooks the key role that Indigenous knowledge and culture can play in mitigating climate change. It also reveals a dangerous misconception that has taken hold in global climate discussions: the idea that Indigenous lands are so rich because they are remote or sparsely populated. Nothing could be further from the truth. The health of Indigenous lands and their ability to store vast quantities of carbon stem from the stewardship of the people who inhabit them.

I'm actually bringing this back around to say another important thing.

I get a fair number of asks and comments on my posts expressing sentiments like "human beings are a plague on this Earth", "humans ruin everything, we deserve to be wiped out", "humanity is inherently selfish, evil, and irredeemable".

I don't think the folks saying these things have bad intentions, I know their words come from a place of very understandable pain, fear, and anger. But to act as though humanity's impact on nature is inherently damaging and extractive is to erase thousands of years of Indigenous stewardship of nature. These ecosystems are thriving because there are humans living there.

This is your regular reminder that you don't need to feel guilty for being a human. You are part of nature--viewing humans as inherently separate from the rest of nature is actually part of the problem. You will be so much better served redirecting that guilt into supporting the humans who are helping nature or resisting those who are hurting it.

Pretty sure that's the Nicholas Brothers. They weren't a permanent part of Cab's band, but they were collaborators and incredibly popular in their own right.

They were self taught dancers who basically pioneered their own style of highly acrobatic tap and jazz dancing. There's another clip that goes around here, from Stormy Weather that they did all in one take that is literally mind bending.

Oh I love this. This is actually the first time I’ve seen this clip colorized and whoever did it did a MASTERFUL job.

I’m obsessed with several things every single time it comes up:

1) That poor saxophonist in the first row at the beginning. Clearly either his first day on the job or he’s temporarily filling in for someone else. Either way he clearly was not warned about the tap dancers doing jumps directly over his shoulders cause he ducks and flinches EVERY TIME while the rest of the orchestra basically ignores them because it’s a day ending in y

It has a huge variety of historical recipes from different regions, taken from manuscripts, transcribed and translated, and a whole section of notes about the context for the recipe. It's really fun and I AM going to try a couple of these recipes.
