Sometimes you just have to feel a little bit like a badass. I guess crazy hat day will do that to a girl ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ๐คช๐ค๐ป
Has this quarantine gotten everyone to go crazzzzzzy?! ๐คช I certainly have. Although I am fortunate enough to still be able to go to work as an essential healthcare worker, being cooped up in this house for two months has caused me to go a little house happy. So many plans have had to be cancelled or postponed such as my bachelorette and even... wait for it... my wedding!!!! I was supposed to get married this coming June, but due to covid-19, my fiancรฉ and I decided to make the difficult situation to postpone until December. #deckthehalls anyone? ๐ And to make this time even crazier (hence my hiatus), I officially was informed after battling a severe and chronic sinus infection, I am being scheduled for surgery. Iโm terrified. Iโve never had surgery. Iโm worried about having enough sick time to allow me to stay home and recover. But Iโm blessed knowing that I have my nutrition to keep me healthy and a side biz to keep the hustle going until I can make it back to work. Needless to say, 2020 is shaping up to be quite the year and Iโm about ready to finish playing this game of #jumanji ๐คช๐ anyone else ready to pack up 2020 and skip ahead? ๐ค
Planning a wedding, working a full time job, and working on my side hustle every. single. day is no joke. I barely have any free time, Iโm constantly stressed, and Iโm pretty sure Iโve gotten a few more gray hairs ๐ณ This month in particular has been extremely hard finding the motivation to wedding plan let alone work on my side hustle. Iโm struggling to not just come home and flop onto the couch and plug into the final episodes of #thebachelor ๐น But Iโm looking to find the strength and the energy to continue to push forward, despite how many days this week that I wanted to give up. Is anyone else struggling this week or is it just me?!
Does anyone else have a #furbaby that wants to participate in your workouts and cheer you on? ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ Because I totally do! This little one always tries to involve herself in my workouts. Not sure if she thinks itโs part of a game or if she truly wants to encourage me. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ Either way, receiving those little kisses definitely keeps me motivated to keep pushing, to not give up, and to finish my workouts no matter how hard they get. Wednesday is always my hardest day. Itโs the middle of the week, Iโm already exhausted from dealing with the stress of coming back to work on Monday, and Iโm sooo ready for the weekend. And this is exactly when itโs time to put my mind into overdrive. Today I am going to do my workout, despite the fact that Iโm so exhausted I could drop and my arms/back are so sore from yesterdayโs workout. I am going to overcome my negative self-talk and my laziness. I will not go home and sit on the couch, snacking and being lazy. I WILL go home, turn on that TV, and get busy meeting my goals. Any workout is better than no workout is something I have to live by. I will strive to complete my workout to the fullest and modify if I have to. However, just committing to my workout today will set up myself for consistency towards my goals. ๐ Drop a ๐ช๐ป if youโre ready to complete your workout of the day whether thatโs going for a long walk with your fur baby or going to the gym!

My life hasnโt always been this happy. Iโve gone through so many toxic relationships, horrible roommates, and bullying ever since I was a little girl. It has taken a lot of time, self-care, and positive thinking to help me overcome the anxieties and depression that developed over the years. One of the hardest things this year that Iโm still working on overcoming is my 30+ lbs. weight gain since my transition from a NJ girl born and raised to my new temporary home in Florida. It was hard to step on that scale. I was shocked to see how much weight I had gained in just a year! I knew I wasnโt feeling comfortable in my clothes, things were getting tighter, but I was in DENIAL. I didnโt want to believe that things had changed that much but they did. Fast forward to two months later. I committed to my healthier lifestyle (although, I have to admit Iโm not as consistent as Iโd like to be) and my workout programs and Iโd have to say, Iโm sleeping better, Iโm feeling better, and my clothes are starting to fit better. Iโm 12 lbs. down and Iโm close to my baseline weight. Iโm smiling more, Iโm laughing more, and Iโm feeling more confident each and every day. I donโt know what I would do without the positivity of my workout challenge group, my coach, and my family/friends who continue to push me towards my goals. I will become a better me in 2020. 4 Avocados ๐ฅ 1/2 cup finely chopped white onion 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro 1 small finely chopped jalapeรฑo (seeds/ribs removed) 3 tbs. of lime juice 1/4 tsp. ground coriander 1 tsp. kosher salt Mix together for pure deliciousness. And Iโll give you a secret tip! To keep it from browning, keep the pits and store with guacamole ๐คค๐ฅ

Thereโs so many things I love, and yes, I said LOVE ๐ about my challenge group. But let me make this simple for you. How could you not love a group of 26+ women coming together for one common goal? Empowerment. Every day, each of these amazing women post about their struggles that theyโve overcome, their accomplishments, their ideas, and suggestions. Itโs filled with positivity, love, appreciation, and encouragement. I am never alone. These women show up every. single. day. Regardless of their busy work days or personal lives and it blows ๐ฅ my mind. Without them, I wouldnโt have lost all the weight that Iโve lost in such a short period of time. Theyโve kept me accountable, theyโve kept me encouraged, and most importantly theyโve become my tribe. 2020 is the year for women empowerment. Letโs get it! ๐๐ป๐ช๐ป๐
๐๐ป this couldnโt be more true. Youโre not always going to see results right away and thatโs been one of my biggest pitfalls. Iโm expecting to see results within the first few days of any workout program I start, but guess what? I may not see my results but boy is my body sore after a day or two of my workout programs. I FEEL it. In order to get your results, to really see them, you have to stay #consistent as my fiancรฉ always tells me. And trust me, the results will come! Just keep pushing yourself. Donโt let time or stress or life get in the way of your dreams ๐๐ป๐
Today I chose compassion. Not only compassion for others who are struggling but compassion for myself. Compassion to understand that every day I may not be able to accomplish all that I want or complete a full workout without modifications, and thatโs OKAY! I need to learn to be more compassionate towards myself and not be so judgmental. This is one of the hardest things Iโve had to overcome. Iโm always hypercritical of myself. I guess thatโs the perfectionist in me. But itโs okay to not be perfect, to not be able to finish something, because guess what?!?! Tomorrow is a new day and what you couldnโt do today you have another chance to do tomorrow!
Everyone has been there, we have all given up on something and quite frankly we do it more often than you think. But how about this year we try something ๐๐๐?
Letโs ๐ ฝ๐ พ๐ give up, give in, surrender. This is our year to overcome the norm, to not conform to our bad habits, and to build a happier, healthier future.
