ok wait also. the famous bobby chasing john off the property with a shotgun line IS explained in the Supernatural: Bobby Singer’s Guide to Hunting book. Somewhere around the mid 90’s john drops Sam and Dean off with Bobby to go on a hunt in Montana and then essentially drops off the face of the earth. he’s gone for so long that Bobby eventually decides to tell Sam and Dean that he must have died. sam apparently takes awhile to process this and goes very quiet and dean gets really angry. bobby says this is the biggest fight he and dean ever had. then dean disappears into the night and returns hours later with john in tow. dean’d tried to hitchhike to montana on his own to find john and accidentally caught his dad, totally unharmed and completely fine (capable of answering bobby’s phone calls, bobby takes care to mention john did own a cellphone at this point), on the way back. john packs the boys into the impala and tells them they’re going to stay with somebody who “actually cares about them” and bobby becomes so enraged that he pulls out the shotgun and starts firing.

i want to put my thoughts behind this: this was supposed to be a piece for pride month, titled "you were loved". the sky is the color of the aroace flag (just upside down)!

basically, i wanted to show an aroace person — an old aroace person, to be precise. being aroace myself, i am always told that i will forever be lonely and miserable if i don't get a partner. so showing grace, who is aroace to me, as old and happy and fulfilled and oh so loved by his best friend, was really important to me <3

there are a lot of posts about how bad it is that students use chatgpt for everything but i have not seen much about how FUCKING ANNOYING it is to have coworkers who use it for everything

im in software development and i dont even mean using it for coding help (which is btw the only place where I am not 100% against it, if it is used for debug support and not for copy/past of code, it can be used as a tool to speed up tedious debugging, and in theory can be run locally)

but i am working on a large software right now, with a lot of complicated calculations and a lot of modules and a long workflow with a lot of complex data processing. we are at the start of the project, and we are 1 senior dev and 2 normal devs.

The other normal dev uses chatgpt for EVERYTHING!!!

I joined the project now that it started in development, but the other dev and the senior dev did the pre-study where they wrote all the architecture documents. Meaning the whole logic and set up how the code is going to work, what parts it has, what the code creates and what the input is.

Like 600 pages of documentation. which i have read. rip

and now every time stuff comes up of how stuff works, I talk about it with the other dev (who wrote the fucking documents) and he is just entirely fucking clueless about it!!!!!!!! like he has no idea

he acts like he has never seen the documents before while constantly annoying me about the fact if i have already read them (there are a LOT of problems with that guy beside his use of chatgpt)

He has written the docs with chatgpt, so he does not know what is inside! He does not understand how stuff is structured, what input we use, what each module creates, because he just took what the senior dev told him and had chatgpt write a nice text! other colleagues even told me they often have to fix stuff that this guy wrote because it is all AI slop and they need to spend time to fix all the wrong shit

and it costs so much fucking time to reexplain stuff to him that he should know better than me! i had multiple useless 1 h meetings who are not needed if he would just use his brain!!!

also he only comments code if chatgpt does it for him!

he is incapable of looking through the code i have written without me explaining every step to him

he is completely unfamiliar with the actual structure and pipeline!

i have now written a fucking user manual for him to read and he does not even do that!!!!!

all documents we get from partners he just lets AI to sum up for him, so when recently a new 200 page doc came in he said he skimmed it, and then in my code he asked at some point where i got the values from that i used and those were literally from the doc he said he looked at!

Like, this is INSANE!!! I hate it!!!!!!
