When Victor and Yuuri retire they decide they want to expand their family and give a child a home so they adopt.

They bring home their child, a little girl named Masha and tell her they’ll get her a welcome home present. Masha’s obsessed with dinosaurs. They know this as it half their conversations with her during interviews and the visitations were straight up lists of her favourite dinosaur facts.

So it’s not the biggest of surprises when the four-year-old says “Please, please, please can I have a dinosaur.”

Yuuri blinks and smiles. He says “dinosaurs are extinct, sweetie. They’re all gone.”

Victor jabs him in the ribs for crushing her hopes and dreams but Masha only looks a little sad before they move in with their night.

Still, Victor’s baby girl wants a dinosaur? She’s getting a dinosaur.

Victor does research and consults with Yuuri as he plans the ultimate gift for little Masha. He buys supplies in secret and after about a month and a half of planning the surprise is ready.

When Masha comes home from school one day Yuuri tells her that they have her present waiting for her. When she gets home what does she find but a big, beautiful bird cage and three little budgies contained inside.

They’re beautiful with there green and blue bellies and excited little voices.

“When disaster hit some dinosaurs survived,” Victor says, smiling as Yuuri opens the cage, reaches inside and teaches Masha how to properly pet and handle the new addition to the family. “But to stay around on the new earth they had to adapt. These little guys, birds, are some of the dinosaurs closest living relatives.”

Masha’s eyes go wide and bright. “You got me three dinosaurs!”

And so goes the tale of the Katsuki-Nikiforov household and their pet dinosaurs.

Hey I stumbled on your most recent post about your friend and I want to tell you how much of a amazing person you are because you called the police to save your friend.

thank you. I really needed messages like these because it was a really difficult situation for me. he didn’t want me to tell his parents about his depression because he was afraid he was going to be shamed for it. I promised not to let them know. But he was in a lot of trouble and I knew calling the police was the best thing to do but it also broke that promise, ya know? Thank goodness everything turned out okay and now his parents know and they were luckily pretty understanding. But it kind of separated us as friends because I am upset at him. Anyway, thanks! I needed a good message.

been a long day. I was forced to have to call 911 bc a friend of mine (he thinks we’re closer than we are) convinced me he was about to commit suicide. bawled my eyes out bc I thought it was gonna be my fault. it was an interesting, traumatizing day. he’s okay though. just needed to rant about that for a moment don’t mind me.
