Higher Further Faster!

I loved Captain Marvel. Saw it twice, and realised it was exactly the kind of representation I was CRAVING as a child. A super heroine, a fighter, an adventurer, who is defined by that, and that alone. She’s not fighting in heels, she’s not sexualised, her outfits are not made for her to be “sexy”, she has no makeup (as far as you can have “no makeup” in movies, you see what I mean).

Lot of people said she’s “cheated”, but , actually, what defines her? What is her TRUE super power? The fact she gets up again. And again. And again. Not matter how many times she falls, no matter how many times she’s pushed down. She knows her skills, her strenght, she has resilience, she has confidence.

Just like Rey. I was waiting for these characters when I was a child. When I was a kid who came to despise her own gender because representation in medias were mostly alien to me. To this day I still dont know how I feel about my gender, actually, and representation of women in medias and society has a lot to do with that. I’m glad that, even if I’m not a child anymore, I get to learn about fantastics women, reals and fictionnals, that went beyond the norms society pushed on us.

I love her so so much, I had to draw her again after seeing the trailer for the next movie. I love The Force Awakens, I don’t like The Last Jedi, but I have faith in The Rise of Skywalker!

Happy Pride Month everyone!

I had some very rough times in the last three years, but I fought hard and feel way better now, and as a result, found myself to be more assertive in my life in general. I’m getting to know myself better and better everyday, and will keep moving forward!

 So I wanted to do something this month because why not~ I'm grateful for the safe environment I'm in. Wish all of you the best!

Hello guys !

So, this is Fanette~ She is our oldest cat, 18 years old, mind you! She’s the sweetest and we love her very much.

Today, we discovered a tumor on her belly. She’ll have it removed by surgery on monday, and we hope everything will be okay for her, we’re doing our best for that!

If you have a pet, you know that vet fees are usually quite expensive. So I’m opening emergency commissions to help my family going through that unexpected event!

Ducktales, woo-oo !!

I freaking love the new serie! I liked the old one, I grew up with it, but I was always a bit sad that Donald was not part of the adventure. Donald is my favourite character from the Fab Five, and as a kid I loved reading his adventures, weither it was with Scrooge and the nephews in Carl Barks’s comics, or the comics published in Le Journal de Mickey about his everyday life. 

I somehow was always touched by the fact he had to raise all by himself these three ducklings ! The new serie seems to focus a lot on it, and I won’t spoil it but the ending of the pilot was exciting and I can’t wait to see what it has in store for the Duck family!

Congrats to all the artists involved in the new serie, you did a fantastic job, and thank you for bringing the Ducktales back to old and new generations! Woo-oo!

Colored sketch after I saw the “Valerian and Laureline” movie, which I liked very much (which is a surprise since I usually don’t like Besson’s movies.)

I remember trying to read the comic when I was younger but didn’t really get into it. However, I LOVED Sillage and the art of Philippe Buchet. Tho I gave up on the serie years ago, I still like the books I own, and Nävis was a huge influence on my personna Crys, both in spirit and physical appearance. I learned to draw trying to copy Buchet’s art style, and the “Artbook” of Sillage is still one of my favorite book.

Anyway, I guess I liked the Valerian movies because it reminded me of Nävis’ adventures (which is logical considering Sillage was inspired by Valerian; eh.)

Tho there was some dialogues that made me facepalm a bit (and some sexism in it?) I really enjoyed the dynamic of Valerian and Laureline as partners and fighters. Reminded me of the dynamic I put between my characters soooo... Here they are.
