DEMONKINS I NEED ADVICE

im planning on making a masterlist of divinekin euphoria tips, but I myself am an angel and I don't understand the experience of demonkin. I want to make it as helpful and inclusive as possible so if anyone is open to giving me information on what things give you species euphoria, what helps with dysphoria, things that make you feel more in touch with your identity, etc. i would really appreciate it <3

Heya!! Demonkin here - for me, some things that give euphoria are:

• Making art, crafts, a pin board, etc regarding demons

- Making a demon tail out of fabric, wearing it places, stimming w it, etc

- Bracelets saying things regarding demons, like "demon," "demonkin," "born in hell," a bracelet that looks like it has horns, red and black jewelry, etc

- I also have a patch on a jacket I wear daily that says "Demon" on it

• Long nails, painted black nails, red hair, sharp teeth

• Talking to other demons, talking to angels, divinekin, etc

• This one may come off as iffy, but being the "devil on someones shoulder," aka telling them to do whatever they wanna do so long as it doesn't hurt them or anyone else [also so long as it doesn't put anyone in possible danger]. Wanna try cutting your own hair? Go for it. Rip up an old shirt and turn it into something else? Do it. Paint something on your walls? So be it

• Watching demons in media. This one can either help a lot, or make things worse. It either makes me feel less alone, or it makes me wish I had the features I'm meant to have

OTHERKINS SHOULD START GARDENING

I should probably start of by saying that I am not an otherkin, and I do not know much about the communities, but I have yet to see a discussion about gardening, which I think is a shame. I think gardening is a great opportunity to get in touch with otherkin identities whilst benefitting your local area, particularly for those with animal-based identities. Potential Benefits for Animal Identities (including extinct or mythological, some of this applies to nature-linked mythological identities too)

For carnivores and omnivores, gardens attract insects, as well as the various animals that eat insects, though you shouldn't harm these animals, it can be fun to search for them or watch them

For omnivores herbivores, it can be fun to research edible plants, and grow and harvest them. Whether these are fruits, vegetables, herbs, or other safe-to-eat plants, it can be a lot of fun, and potentially introduce more nutrients to your diet

Many animals enjoy sitting amongst plants, or hiding in foliage, even if there are only a couple plants in your garden, it's still closer to a natural habitat

Many animals like to dig, and gardening provides a good opportunity to do so

Benefits for fictionkins This largely depends on what character you are, but some characters may be potentially interested in gardening or farming. Otherwise, it could be fun to create a garden that is thematically or aesthetically linked to your character (e.g. if your character likes a certain flower, or a certain colour, you could choose linked plants accordingly). You could also base the plants you grow on their symbolism, choosing plants symbollic of things linked to your character.

Gardens can be very pretty

Growing local plants can help create spaces for local fauna and flora to thrive in

Gardening can help you develop relationships with housemates and neighbours who share your interest, or if you join a community garden

Gardening can be relaxing and benefit your mental health, as well as giving you a new hobby to explore, talk about, and get you out of the house

Growing food specifically can help save money on ingredients in the long run, and provides a source of healthy, natural nutrition with no added chemicals

Like a month ago I messaged a craft group about accessibility for wheelchairs and the answer I got was “there’s a lot of stairs but we have cute boys who can carry you”. And it’s…not good. As a wheelchair bound person I largely depend on people when I want to go out and do *anything* so I’m used to it, I laugh it off, make an annoyed post about it and off I go. But I wanna just say a thing real quick.

Even if I wasn’t gay, wasn’t a survivor scared of men, getting help as a disabled person is just…Not a pleasant thing to us! Imagine for a sec how you’d feel being carried up a flight of stairs. You’re a grown person. You’re being touched in an awkward way. You’d rather do it yourself. You’re So Uncomfortable. It’s not where I look for the beginning of a romantic relationship. So like…could abled people stop doing this thing where they think helping us in a condescending and infantilizing way is cute? Cause I’m real tired. Just get me a ramp or lift and I’m cool. I don’t need a dating service when I’m just trying to go about my day

Another aspect making finding somewhere harder for me is that I am openly/visibly transgender and autistic, meaning I have to be very careful with which areas I move to, who I’m moving in with etc.
