hi friends!! I’ve been gone from tumblr for quite a few months (lost my job, depression, travels, etc etc etc) and while I’m not sure I’ll be returning in any sort of full capacity (or even partial capacity), I wanted to share that I will be visiting Aotearoa New Zealand for six weeks starting in February 2025 and I’m planning on visiting as many of the on site locations for filming of OFMD as possible. It would be so rad if yall could share any locations that you know of that I can add to my list 👀

Y'all, I absolutely get the sadness, but also, like, things are deeply unpredictable. I honestly didn't think there'd be so much behind the scenes and extended scenes that would just be released into the wilds of the internet. Didn't think there'd be months of campaigning for someone to pick up the show. There's a lot of possibilities of what can happen, especially given the major upheavals within the industry right now.

Max is not in good shape; I honestly wonder if Season 3 would ever have seen the light of day if it did get made with them. All sorts of shit can happen, and it could suddenly turn very good.

There's so much good stuff. Never say never. Try to enjoy that.

So much this! I know it's like we're mourning them all over again, but look at just how wonderful this "last" piece was! Everything about this campaign for renewal, this show, and all the BTS feels unprecedented in some ways. The amount of interaction we get with the cast and crew, the support we as fans get from them-- this is such a rare gem of a fandom/series and who knows what will happen! Feel free to grieve friends, but don't lose hope, so many wonderful things have happened, who's to say the cast & crew won't surprise us one day with more?

I love what we have so much. But Samba saying this is the last bts scene drop...it really fucking hurts, because this is the last time we'll get new content of them. And yeah, this day would've come eventually, even if we did get a third season.

But it just drives home how much we're missing out on, how much sooner we're losing this than we should have. We should be excited for a third season right now. It hurts so much that we're not. We should've gotten to see them get married, and have weird conversations, and do little improv bits. The chemistry between these two is amazing, and it hurts so much that telling an amazing queer story like this wasn't valuable enough to some rich fucking CEO to keep. The people who worked on this show deserved so much better. We deserved better.

I always loved the lighthouse and Kraken imagery of season 1 and how Ed and Stede had to grapple with the disparate parts of themselves in order to open up to the possibility of love (like waves washing over them).

Anyway, I'm feeling fuckin' great today now that ofmd is written on my skin in permanent ink 💖🏴‍☠️

Ahhhhh these are both lovely!

I got my first tattoo after OCMD—I’d always been on the fence about getting one, but standing in a roomful of queers all singing along to The Chain had me yelling “I WANT A FUCKING TATTOO! I WANT A FUCKING TATTOO!!” not twelve hours after telling my room person @buoymehome that I loved hers but didn’t think I’d ever be able to pick something for myself. I got one the night before the s2 finale.

What I ended up with isn’t purely an OFMD tattoo—the triangles represent an upside-down flying fox, my favourite animal, and there’s a book and some St John’s Wort too. But you see the orange, and the rainbow rays are from a flag designed by CAlixCapicua during the flag-making session at the con, and overall the colours and general exuberance is representative of how happy and joyful both fandom and queerness make me feel 💖🌈🥰🎉🏴‍☠️
