In the morning, after a mind-blowing hookup with his intern, Robby wakes up alone in bed

He really should’ve expected it, still, it hurts

He lies in bed, just staring at the ceiling, wishing he still had Dennis’s warm body next to him

When he feels as though he’s wallowed around enough, he hauls himself out of bed and slowly shuffles to the kitchen, just wanting some coffee and to go on with his day

That’s when his front door suddenly opens, startling Robby so badly

Dennis comes in holding plastic bags from the small family-owned grocery store around the corner, and smiles when he sees Robby

“You have, like, no food.” He teased, walking past the shocked man and setting everything down on his island. “Not even eggs for an omelet, so I had to go get something for us.”

Robby feels his heart swell. He didn’t leave. He just went out so he could make breakfast for the two of them

Robby comes up behind Dennis and just hugs him, burying his face in the crook of the younger man’s neck and pressing a soft kiss there

“Still sleepy?” Dennis hummed, reaching back and petting his messy bed head as he diligently unpacked the groceries

Robby’s just consumed with this love and realizing right there and then that he can never let Dennis go
