If a person was dosed up on a cocktail mixture of venom and blockbuster serum; what strengths and weaknesses would the person gain from this empowerment? (I'm just asking for note purposes while outlining a fics first couple chapters.)
Well, there's been variations of both over the years.
Venom traditionally has a timeline of effect, so it's basically a comics steroid and the character bulks up massively and increases their strength/stamina/speed for a limited period, or while being delivered a dose (so Bane's hoses). Venom generally doesn't have any intellectual effects - it's basically just 'get roided up', though it's traditionally addictive, characters go through withdrawal after using it, might need to detox.
As a side effect of using it for so long, Bane's usually permanently affected to an extent by having taken so much Venom, but sometimes even he still shrinks down to his original build after using it. Colin Wilkes has a rare side effect where he can transform between the form of a grown up adult on Venom and his normal kid build at will, though given Colin doesn't get used much we don't know if that was temporary.
Blockbuster serum is a permanent effect (at least pre-2016, Seeley has Roland using it more like Venom). It also transforms characters into a super strong, brutish, 'roided up' version of themselves, like Venom, but it also made Mark (and Roland initially) extremely stupid. Mark couldn't even talk; Roland could when he used it. Roland ended up becoming highly intelligent via making a deal with Neron - it didn't have anything to do with the Blockbuster serum itself, it just fixed the problem he had.
Blockbuster serum is also extremely hard on your body; Roland has heart issues due to the strain of supporting his huge frame.
In the 2016 version that I've read so far, Roland has modified the chemical so he gets the boost temporarily, and so it also doesn't have the 'makes you stupid' aspect.
In terms of a combination of the two? The general increased strength and oversized muscles is the same for both. You'd need to decide if you want it to be a temporary or a permanent effect, and you'd also need to to decide if it affected the intelligence of the user. Personally for storytelling purposes if I wanted it to have weaknesses I'd keep the temporary effect and withdrawal symptoms from Venom, and the 'decrease intelligence' aspect from Blockbuster serum, though I probably wouldn't take the decreased intelligence to the 'mute brute' stage.
It might be interesting for the combination to have the opposite effect and BOOST intelligence during use, leading to even more reason to chase that high, and ever increasing withdrawal side effects and dependence, in tribute to how both Bane and Roland have used it over the years. It's just that this is not actually a known effect of either drug; it's just that Bane and Roland Desmond were both extremely intelligent characters to start with, and Roland specifically did a deal with a devil to be even MORE intelligent.

If you're not American and you live in the global south where libraries are not well funded, it's morally okay to sign up for American public libraries digital memberships using fake addresses to access their Libby/Overdrive.
The US owes us a lot, not the other way around. So go ahead, babes. Find fake addresses and access their digital libraries for free.
Yes, yes, pirating is easier but the Libby app is convenient
@hongkongtaxi you're a real one thank you
Bad news: NYPL would terminate your account after three weeks because they required in person address verification while Brooklyn Public Library no longer issues e-card.
Queens Library should be the easiest to sign up.
Look for American libraries that have Kanopy and Mango Languages because you can also access those services.
Adding my best friend, the library in Northern California that has a grant funding it to give out ecards worldwide to anyone anywhere (as far as I know).
Brooklyn Public Library has a program called Books Unbanned where anyone in the US under 21 can get a free online card (this was to combat library censorship and book banning) and I remember it being pretty easy to get signed up for that. I don’t think I really had to give much personal information, so it’d probably be pretty easy to get no matter where you are. Also, if the library you sign up for has a Hoopla subscription, you can get access to a lot of free music, TV, and comics.

Man, life is just so much brighter and more vivacious when you give yourself permission to have batshit insane OCs if it makes you happy. Mary Sue is supposed to be an insult? Mary Sue is my best friend, she's my pal, she's my homegirl, my rotten soldier. My sweet cheese.
I'm gonna write spirits falling in love with mortals and Jedi winning the hearts of imperial princes and demigods kicking the shit out of other gods for their boyfriend and fat girls being the heroes and I'm gonna have so much fun doing it
The world is awful in so many ways. Give yourself permission to make your own joy
Frackles
The Frackles are a group of monsters who first appeared in the 1970 special The Great Santa Claus Switch as the henchmen of Cosmo Scam, the villain who tried to replace Santa Claus. and later on Frackles were reused or reworked for other projects, including The Muppet Show. And some changed to monsters or other creatures - such as Gonzo (originally known as a cigar box Frackle) who moved away from the Frackle label to become a "whatever".
Is it wrong to like Mandalorians and Delta Squad more than anything Karen Traviss has written in her SW career?
Not at all.
Karen Traviss did great worldbuilding for Mandalorian and Clone Trooper cultures. The problem was her incessant Jedi-bashing.

Anyone know where New Holland could be centered on the map? I don't know if it would be in California or in New England territory? I'm down for any guesses, geography's not much of my own forte.

"Dognapper's from Beyond!" (A Fic of Martians, Dead Dogs, and Intrigue)
I had an epiphany when getting into two new fandoms as of this month; the epiphany many fanfic authors get when once they delve into a series or book or movie or show they're interested in.... "How would these two series work if crossed over for a fic?" And that was where it hit me towards both the films, Mars Attacks and Frankenweenie; twin tributes made to classic horror/sci-fi by the macabre mind of Tim Burton. But one may ask me, how does one combine a dark comedy film about invading aliens with that of a loving tale of a boy and his undead pet. What can a sane mind, let alone, one with some standards do with such an idea. The answer is a little less complicated than one may think.
It starts off with a scouting crew, not an invasion force or mothership, but an ship meant for spying on Earth. Martian spies and their aids have descended on our little mudball to prepare for a future hostile takeover, their leader intending on making this a secret gift for his Grand Emperor back on Mars. However, they decide to start their campaign on one of the most "quaintest" suburban towns in America, New Holland. Cloaking their ship and disguising themselves, the Martians descend upon the town as its recovering from a prior week of mayhem, especially a certain pet rampage at the local fair. Heading up the group as a new family looking for a fresh start, the leader guises their trail of captured live specimens as the others observe human behavior for any "ill-looking effects" on the future interplanetary occupation. Civilians begin to slowly vanish from public eye as the leader's family becomes talk of the town, save for a few whom find his kin creepy. Victor Frankenstein, a bit shakened by his newfound friendships made with the other kids and keeping his reawakened dog alive, is a bit unnerved by the new family taking residence in the haunted Pretorius House. This has extended to his dog, who was terrified off the property by some unseen force after wandering off his leash.
Soon enough, his school then acquires a new science teacher; replacing the rather peeved gym teacher with a new specimen, a timid man named Claude Griffith. He's interconnected with the new family, yet, seems resentful and rather fearful of being mentioned within their vicinity. Investigating into this matter after discovering a few of his friends missing; Victor, Sparky, and the townsfolk soon find themselves embroiled in a scheme beyond the stars.
I intend for this tale to present every B-Movie and Burton trope up the wazoo (And maybe even beyond) but in a more wholesome manner that Frankenweenie had in its style. It will have science horror, friendship, peculiar romance, cow-explosions, and enough ACK-ACKS to shake a stick at. However, I am still outlining the matter and open for discussion with others on questions or conceptual ideas (I'm not one for saying no to criticism on a fic idea and mutually open for adding touches that might make it a bit improved.)
New Fic Idea (And further fandom obssessions update)
Due to some issues involving long-distance work with a co-writer on my previous VB fic, I have seen to it that it is put on hold until some semblance of interconnection with my co-writer is made. In the mean time, I have become obsessed with two fandoms, one is the works of Tim Burton...
And the works of Laika (Mostly Missing Link and the Boxtrolls!)
Due to having gotten into these new fandoms, I have a little idea involving a crossover of one property or so; unfortunately its of the B-Movie persuasion. What if the realm of Mars Attacks crosses into the wholesome realm of Frankenweenie? I have furthermore on the subject coming up in a later post this week but the concept felt too much not to share with everyone else. ACK! ACK! ACK! ACK! ACKACKACK! - Martian Translation for "Be prepared for the next fic post after this update!"
Like/Reblog this if you DON'T hate Anakin Skywalker
please do this, i really want to know how many people don’t actually despise him

When compared to Burtons other work; what's your take on Mars Attacks?
I haven't actually seen the whole thing to give you a proper opinion 😅
But from what I have seen, it looks a bit intense. I'll have to look into it a little more
