Yes! I agree with you. What I meant by "afterthought" is in golden trio fanfics. Mainly it's r0mione shippers who write it and they always emphasize Harry's relationship with his best friends rather than with Ginny. As if Harry is a child and r0mione are parenting him. Also many shippers from that ship are hardcore Ron stans and they bash everyone in order to defend Ron. They even say that Hinny exists because Harry needed a "girl r0n"
I understand now. I’m not sure where those shippers think Ginny is similar to Ron when she isn’t. One key thing is that she’s wayyy more confident than Ron among others. Especially since Harry chose being with Ginny over Ron.
I’ve never seen any Ron stans bash think Ginny (Apart from Reddit which was crazy to me, they said Ginny ‘virgin shamed him’ and that she’s cruel to him as if Ron isn’t cruel back) however I do see the Romione parents Harry which I think (hope) is a joke.

Of course — that’s exactly why I only consider as canon the things Rowling herself actually wrote, because she’s the author. The fact that Rowling let some people write a glorified fanfic and then took advantage of it by saying “yeah, I’ll sign off on that too” just to make more money doesn’t make it canon, because she didn’t write it. So I’m sorry, but The Cursed Child isn’t canon — it’s just something Rowling wanted to cash in on because being a billionaire still wasn’t enough for her.
CURSED CHILD IS TRASH. They need to calm down becuase a fanfic where Harry scar hurts even though the horcrux was removed 19 years ago is just horrible writing. It goes against the characterisation of any character. For example, Harry hating Albus because he’s a Slytherin when in the epilogue he explicitly states that after Hogwarts he’d grown to appreaciate sthe house because of Severus and learnt that all Slytherins are infact not evil. He literally says he doesn’t care what house he goes into. It genuinely feels like fanfiction and a cheap attempt of making drama.

Ginny Weasley (and the ship Hinny) deserved so much. I’m not saying she’s well written, actually the opposite.
But if people can see glimmers of nuance in characters near one dimensional characters such as Regulus black and Draco Malfoy why not Ginny.
For nearly a whole year she was groomed and possessed and nearly died at the hands of Voldemort. Her guilt and evident trauma form the situation. From a timid shy, traumatised girl athe confident girl. Sometimes the happens enritely off page which is annoying. We do get hints but a lot of Ginny’s development is just telling us about her change instead of showing us.
And Hinny by all means might not work.
They’re both stubborn, emotionally reserved, and shaped by trauma. Ginny, like Harry, isn’t weepy, and rarely cry, she doesn’t wear her emotions on her sleeve. But also understands him the most (For example, in order of the phoenix, he confides her that he wants to talk to Sirius, something h assumes wouldn’t be well received by Ron and Hermione and she doesn’t push but instead helps him find a solution.)
Harry is undeniably happiest with her. He choose her over Ron (something he didn’t need to do as Ron accepted them but A lot of people fixate on the fact that she was a fangirl and ignore anything from OOTP & HBP. She was a piece of goodness in a world that demanded sacrifice. She was his last thought before he surrendered to Voldemort.
So yes, maybe their relationship would have hiccups but don’t all relationships. That’s what makes it real. It’s not about perfection, it’s about choosing each other despite the wreckage the world provides.

For the hundredth time Snape said that Draco would most likely have little to no scarring if he got help immediately which Draco was provided with. i don’t agree with the whole “harry and sirius both saw james in each other” theory/headcanon.
to me, harry could not see james in sirius because harry did not know james. all he saw in sirius was family and a father figure, which sirius was! sirius was his godfather. harry looked up to sirius as who sirius was. it’s impossible for harry to see the ghost of someone he never knew in a person he knew and loved.
and while i do agree that sirius saw james in harry, i also DESPISE the “nice one, james!” line. those were not sirius’ last words to harry. in his final moment, sirius was trying to protect HARRY. not james. i hate hate hate that line with my entire being. if someone says it to me as if it’s a good addition or source of good angst, i will CRASH OUT.

And it wasn’t just about the stupid firebolt, Ron had just seen his rat all bloody on his bed and Crookshanks has been tryna attack for the past few months, so naturally everyone thinks the cats killed him and Hermione continued to defend it. Given that the evidence was right in front of them, they can’t be blamed for thinking the cats killed Scabbers nor can they be blamed for being mad at Hermione continuing to defend the cat they thinks killed their rat. They don’t know about Peter yet so that doesn’t matter.
And Harry was having a very tiresome year, and Quidditch is one of the few things that brings him joy and he lost his broom in the last match due to a dementor attack. And Hermione, without even consulting Harry, tells Professor McGonagall. Well-intentioned or not, having someone meddle in your business without your permission and have the choice taken away like that would annoy anyone. Also, they’re all literally thirteen in this and he’s got this brand new amazing broom, and it gets taken away because Hermione meddled when it wasn’t her business to do so. Whether it’s for safety or not, Hermione has no right to make decisions for people. That’s literally one of her main flaws, she’s meddling and controlling. Coming from someone who grew up with controlling parents.
If Hermione had simply talked to Harry first, no one would be mad at anyone. It’s the fact that she interfered with someone else’s business. Plus he’s literally on the Quidditch team, his team relies on him, he needs to practice.
And her breaking the wand, trying to say Hermione was wrong to be apologetic - HELLO??? THEY’RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A WAR AND THE WANDMAKER HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED SO HE CAN’T GET ANOTHER ONE AND BASICALLY HAS NO MEANS OF DEFENDING HIMSELF and that wand has been by Harry’s side from the very beginning so naturally it holds sentimental value and was his only protection. So naturally Hermione is wary that Harry is angry. Because despite that it was accidental and that Hermione saved him, it is still pretty bad that Harry now doesn’t have a wand at a time like this.
Hermione knows Harry’s life is a constant cycle of trauma and loss so she knows it isn’t fair to come down on him for his anger. And Harry knows Hermione can be meddling, controlling and stubborn and he puts up with that.
It appears Hermione has more empathy as a kid than most of the older people who post about these books.
Seeing as this person is a Romione shipper, I think the bigger concern is that one needs to put down another ship to make theirs look good, you’d think a ship actually worth its salt would have enough sustenance to shine on its own.

Well, my apologies not for not noticing. Sometimes things tend to go over my head. Personally, I don’t find the ship to be planned, but that’s up to you. I don’t know it’s just that a lot of people tend to defend their shit by bashing Ron and no offense. I know you didn’t do it and now I realize you didn’t do it sorry my fault but as a veteran of many shipping war, I get really tired of people bashing certain characters because they don’t like them according to the ship. Yeah I was shocked when I first read it, I didn’t even bother engaging with a conversation with her.
She was a Draco fangirl so I knew that she was already too far gone in her delusions. Like how can you hate James and like Draco, at least James grew up after hogwarts and gave his life to defend muggleborns and those vulnerable to Voldemort’s rule. 99.9% of Draco was being a bully to poor Neville, and the golden trio (but they continently forget that and act like it was a rivalry, if it was a rivalry why didn’t Harry ever seek Draco or instigate something?
