I love the idea that a lot of people if not everyone feels like a saiyaara, thinking and relating to "khud jalke jo roshan karde jag ye saara" and that corresponds with humans being made of stardust. we need to talk more about shane’s ilya album on his phone okay because ilya’s shane album is talked about so much but shane !! the whole world knows about them suddenly and that means shane can now have pictures of ilya on his phone without worrying about them being outed. he can take pictures of ilya and not have to worry about it

he comes home from his morning run and it’s still early enough that ilya is still sleeping, sprawled across their bed on his stomach and his curls are everywhere and his mouth is slightly parted and there’s just the tiniest bit of drool at the corner of his mouth and shane can’t stop staring at him because ilya is here in their bed and shane loves him so much and wait, he doesn’t have to memorize this, he can take a picture.

they’re on the couch when anya comes scrambling up onto ilya’s lap and ilya isn’t even watching the movie anymore, just cooing at anya and cuddling her and shane can just. take a picture.

ilya’s getting ready for an irina foundation event and he hasn’t put on his suit jacket yet and fuck his shoulders and back and arms in that shirt are fucking insane and so shane sneaks out his phone from his pocket and takes a picture.

ilya sends him a selfie from his car because he just got out of a captain’s meeting along with a text “i miss you” even though it’s only been a couple hours since he left that morning and shane doesn’t need to spend ten minutes tracing the lines of ilya’s face with his thumb before deleting it. no, he can just save it to his phone instead.

ilya laughing with his head thrown back at one of bood’s bbqs. ilya making a funny face over at him while posing for an ad campaign yuna got for him. ilya lying on the ground with a bunch of puppies crawling all over him, wearing the biggest, most contagious smile. ilya bent over a puzzle with a focused expression on his face. just ilya, ilya, ilya.

and shane can’t believe he gets to have this now, can’t believe it after having spent a decade not allowing himself to keep any trace of ilya on his phone. and he’s going to spend the rest of their lives taking enough pictures to make up for it

Shane working on verbally complimenting Ilya more, expressing the appreciation he's alway thinking but rarely saying. He sets a little vibration alarm to go off on his smart watch every two hours. When it goes off he tries not to overthink and just says the first thought that comes to mind. Ilya is too busy to notice, feeling extremely gooey from Shane turning to him and in an earnestly serious voice saying things like "I love your smile" or "I married a fucking sniper boys" or "your new haircut is really fucking hot" or "you were a fucking beautician on that powerplay Roz."

hook up era where during a game ilya checks shane into the boards and he comes away with this massive bruise across his ribs. later Ilya's rucking up shanes shirt and finds it n just stops dead. traces featherlight fingers over the mottled edges and asks 'is this mine?' n shane answers 'yes' or in other words not 'did I do that 🥺' but 'did i do that (horny)' and 'yes (somehow even hornier)'

hayden pike and cliff marlow and yuna and everyone under the sun individually telling shane how whipped ilya is for him when shane doesn’t realise.

one day hayden corner’s shane in his kitchen when him and ilya are over for dinner and ilya is distracted with the pike entourage of children and he’s like “dude rozanov is so obsessed with you it’s weird” and shane is all like “what are you talking about” and hayden exasperatingly explaining how ilya was texting jackie the night before making sure the food for dinner was macrobiotic diet friendly and that they had ginger ale on hand for shane and shane shrugs like what’s the matter with that and jackie comes into the kitchen after eavesdropping like “i think it’s sweet that his man wants him to be comfortable wherever they go” and hayden huffs and takes offense like apparently he isn’t doing that for jackie.

and then one day cliff marlow texts shane which is weird in of itself bc he never texts shane and is like “hollzy let go of roz’s leash for one night please” and shane is like what are you talking about and cliff responds “roz just dropped us to go home to you! we’re here one night only!” and shane is like “and?” and cliff just responds with the “🤦🏼‍♂️” emoji but shane doesn’t get it.

yuna pulls shane aside when they’re all having dinner at her house and goes “honey, I love you, and i want you to be comfortable obviously, but if you’re cold put a jacket on or im going to tie Ilya’s hands up if he keeps touching my thermostat.” And shane is like wait what and yuna just rolls her eyes and is like “how are you so oblivious, my god shane. he’s so whipped for you he keeps adjusting the temperature so it’s what you have it locked to at home. he’s obsessed with you being comfortable.” and shane will scrunch up his nose like “that’s a normal thing to do.” and yuna will shake her head and say “no baby that is something you do for someone who you love more than anything in the world”.

and then over the next week shane really tries to pay attention to all the little things ilya does for him that he didn’t even realise. like make sure there’s no tiny bits of food scraps in the kitchen sink bc shane haaaaates that and makes sure that the blinds are pulled by exactly 8pm when the sun starts to hit a mirror and makes the room too bright for shane and making sure shane’s favourite mug is always clean and dry for him each morning. shane doesn’t know what to do with being so so so loved by someone so so sweet.
