Oh hello, it seems you've stumbled into my blog! Welcome, welcome! I hope you're having a good time wandering. What's all this? Well have a seat and we can discuss it over tea.
This is a magical place of wisdom and inspiration, where we get together sometimes and listen to nature in it's infinite wisdom to learn how to live a new lifestyle- one that doesn't reject technology, medicine, and the miracles our ancestors worked for us to have while still keeping nature and balance in our hearts and lives, always striving for balance and sustainable, if not regenerative, practices. Nature has honed it's process over far longer than we can conceive and if we can just be in step with them and work with them instead of against, we can be fruitful and resilient.
We are living in a time of unprecedented change, and a new age is struggling to be born. We are more connected, more dependent, more watched, and more advanced than we have ever been. And we are least in balance with nature and her cycles and systems than ever before. In the west especially, but even globally, we are seeing the cracks as the roots of our society try to push out the flat concrete slab of classism and exploitative processes. In a lot of places, people are rejecting the religion, gender roles, career culture, etc pushed on them by a system that focuses and collects wealth for a small few, while leaving our communities and nature worse for it. We pay to exist, and we are paying for our mistakes.
People are being kidnapped, jobs are shrinking, climate change is destroying food security, and the rich will jump ship if they can, be it country or, eventually, planet (unlikely, but that's what they tell themselves), keaving the mess for us to deal with. After Nature's raw creations of course, we, the normal people, create all of the value for this system. It's time we create it for ourselves, for our community, and for our planet. We can use green technology, and we must. We have everything we need on this planet to feed, house, and support everyone, and we can make most if not all of it sustainable and regenerative. If we wanna keep this whole humanity thing up, we must. After all, nature always wins and if she ever doesn't, we will fall with her.
All that is to say, as a species, we must work toward properly utilizing technology in harmony with nature to most sustainably live, and actually enjoy, life and be free of the madness and slavery that capitalism and classism perpetrate; we must earnestly use permaculture, guerilla gardening, decentralized social media, freely distibuting information, resilient Peer to Peer systems that don't ask the government's permission, data privacy, regenerative agriculture, reducing/reusing/recycling, native plants/animals, herbalism and mycology, ustainable hunting/conservation, sustainable land management, repair cafes, tailoring/sewing, metalworking, food preservation, composting....
Every one of us can do SOMETHING. And on my blog you'll find solarpunk lifestyle stuff for everything from apartment hydroponics to how to self host on peertube from your homestead. My focus for the prepping phase will be amassing resources, ideas, and just plain old Inspiration/aesthetics for the heart. Once we move, I will chronical our process and lifestyle (I have a wife and dog, and my wife's family lives on the land too) and post how to's, share videos or live streams we do, recipes, stuff we make, slice of life stuff, etc.
I will never take sponsorships or product deals or any of that crap. Money is a tool to me that I don't consent to and I only want enough to pay for stuff I can't get out of: insurance, specialized tools, taxes, emergency, etc. If I sell stuff, I will sell for as cheap as I can considering our expenses and upcoming projects.
You do not need to agree with everything I say to benefit and be a benefit to this change. Our diversity of style, skills, insights, and characteristics make us strong. Doing something is better than doing nothing.
Grow where you're planted.
