Hey Everyone!

Host here, me and a friend are working on a tulpamancy discord bot + server together. We’d love if anyone would give us some ideas for the bot or server!

First of all, here’s some info about the bot. First off, this will not just be a tulpamancy bot. I want this bot to be able to do things relating to all kinds of thoughtforms. Anything to do with our community will be included and represented in this server/bot, so I’d love for y’all to help out! I don’t know everything yet, but I want to try to represent everyone. So far, our plans are:

An advanced profile module that keeps track of the entire system. (tulpas, soulbonds, servitors, wonderland, etc.)

A dictionary in the server that the bot can pull from if someone needs to know a definition

assistance for those who are new to the community (reminders of when to force, links to guides, any other suggestions???)

On Imaginary Friends

Alright let’s get something straight. A person does not have to be real to be important. The characters that we connect with and obsess over and cry about in media aren’t unimportant just because they are made up.

On that note, if somebody tells you that a character they have created is important to them and begins to experience intense emotions over this character, please don’t tell them that they’re weird and overemotional just because the character isn’t real. Clearly the character means something to them, and if their actions due to their connection to that character do not harm themselves or others, do not try to get rid of that character. Yes it may seem silly, strange, and even a bit concerning, but trying to rid them of that character is invalidating their emotions. Let people have their imaginary friends.

I think imaginary friends can be healthy to have around. They give people somebody to talk to when nobody else will listen. Let them have that.

Gaining Sight

I’ve been having trouble with seeing with my mind’s eyes recently. More than usual. 

It’s troubling and annoying, because my intrusive thoughts have an easier time barging in and causing things to warp and confuse me. So I have to stay away, though it aches me to do so.

Trying to figure out ways around it though, and I’ve noticed that using a fake chat app helped when their voices aren’t clear enough. So I thought writing things out could help.

Syrius and Morty were more than happy to help with that.

it’s genuinely fine for people to be like 40 on tumblr the same way it’s fine for people to be like 40 on other social media sites. it’s just assumed that on twitter or facebook people will primarily interact with people their own age and in their social circles, or their interactions with people significantly younger than them will be apropriate (eg, ur weird aunt commenting “you’re a superstar! i know you can graduate college if you try!” on your selfie or something. dumb but harmless).

the thing that’s weird about tumblr is that people in their mid 30s and 14 year olds are both on here and in the same spaces, and those adults aren’t taking into consideration the power dynamic that comes with age or thinking about how appropriate their interactions with those children are.

modern fandom originated with middle aged women who were really into star trek, and that was fine because that circle was adults interacting with and making content for other adults. there isn’t anything fundamentally weird or creepy about grown women making fan media or really liking a piece of science fiction. the root issue is people having inappropriate dynamics with people significantly younger than them, which i really hate having to explain to begin with.

I suppose with tulpas it's a bit weird. I don't think anyone in our system would really interact with a 14 year old or whatever unless it was in a tulpamancy setting. It's a bit complex when the entire system is 20+ aside from the host.
