yet again. another transfem falls for my stupidity.
the fun thing about having a mental health crashout in your thirties is that sure yeah you're crashing out, but at the same time there's a part of you standing across the room smoking ben affleck style, going yeah yeah you're crashing out. you crashed out before you will crash out again can we wrap this up yet. and the most annoying part about it is that they're right, and that that does Not stop you from crashing out even a little. love and light on planet earth.
always some new bullshit in the ocean
Why is it always orcas or dolphins
Why can't a salmon do some bullshit for once

here comes the airplane
👥 Readers added context they thought people might want to know
If Utena Tenjou ate a lithium-ion battery, she would turn into an electric car, not an airplane.
Did you find this helpful?
Yes
Yes
It’s a big mistake to think you’re the only one who can turn into a electric car
Thats not what "here comes the airplane" is referring to. The phrase "here comes the airplane" is something parents (supposedly) say when feeding fussy infants. The joke is that it looks like someone is gently feeding her a battery, not that a battery causes airplanes or whatever yall thought
👥 Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The phrase “Here comes the airplane” is spoken by parents while feeding their babies batteries, so that their babies can become airplanes. Becoming an airplane is considered good because it is a high-paying job. Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
If you were on a plane about to crash and there was only one parachute, which member of The Beatles would you give it to?
Paul Simon
Yoko Ono
George Michael
Patrick Starr
it’s weird that professional letters are supposed to start with “dear.” i don’t even call my mom that

please vote for tylenol to have her face on a beer can $1 for 1 vote and the donation goes to the baltimore animal rescue and care shelter
TYLENOL HAS MADE IT INTO THE TOP TEN LETS FUCKING GO
VOTE NOW SO WE CAN SEE TYLENOL'S FACE ON BEER CANS IN THE DITCHES BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!
If you all will allow me a moment to analyze the competition as it exists, there's something interesting going on with the numbers.
As we all know, thanks to the support of the good people of Tumblr, Tylenol has experienced a meteoric rise to second place. Even though her competition is stiff, I believe in Tylenol's ability to go the distance.
But let's take a look at the competition:
Elmer seems to be a lovely boy. I have no qualms with Elmer, and think he would look fantastic on a beer can. But what about Elmer's campaigns? Who is the power behind the throne here, and how have they managed to find such breakout success on this competition?
A handful of wealthy donors are trying to buy this competition.
At the end of the day, all donations are good donations here. This is a charity event so every penny earned is going to help animals in need. But it's not lost on me that Elmer's current ranking is thanks entirely to a few individuals with the financial means to put their thumbs on the scale.
Tylenol's donors, comparatively, are small and numerous, mostly $1-10 donations from many passionate believers in what she stands for (autism and pain relief I think).
Overall, the donations tell a very different story than what the base ranking shows you. Elmer is held aloft by just 24 donors and bolstered by a few wealthy patrons, whereas Tylenol has won the hearts of literally hundreds of people. Even the current third place, Abby, owes her ranking to numerous small contributions rather than one or two large ones.
Tylenol is the people's princess.

Good news!
Tylenol is real! I love you Tylenol!
A vote for Tylenol is a vote for the people
Games from older consoles are being made less and less available to the point so much of the industry's history could easily vanish without
Preserving classic videogames from consoles past.
I'm just gonna slide this on in here for anyone that is interested in preserving old games. They take it very seriously too, they want an archive of every single game. Like, they have lists of every game ever released for a system, and once that system gets old enough, they add it to their archive and start collecting. Their latest addition was the Xbox 360, they opened that vault up in September 2022, and proudly announced they'd finished their collection of games for it back in April.
Also, while their game archives are almost entirely complete, they've got another project of archiving the manuals that came with those games, and that is... considerably less well filled out. Their collection of Xbox 360 manuals is especially rough, they've only gotten manuals for three games. So if you've got some Xbox 360 games kicking around, and the manual's still with them, please consider scanning them and submitting them to the site!
Game preservation is important, but people rarely consider preserving the manuals as well; I really respect Vimm's Lair for being so thorough in their archival work.
I've been using Vimm's Lair for years, I have yet to see a single bad link or virus on the entire site. It's arguably the safest and most comprehensive archive of video games in existence. Preserved history
mid-air refueling is really embarrassing… just out here in the open…?

Instead of the new dogshit Odyssey film you should watch Iphigenia (1977). It’s made by actual Greek people and focuses on a mother-daughter relationship to explore how women are sacrificed by powerful men in times of war. Also the main actress has the face of an angel 🙏 the whole movie is available on YT with English subtitles.
Plugging this once again to remind you that my queen Irene Papas is also in it!! It’s unfair just how gorgeous and ethereal everyone looks
idk what neurodivergent young adult needs to hear this but you are NOT supposed to give 100% at your job. I've gotten more promotions and raises since I started giving 40-60%, which my evil CEO uncle informed me is what bosses actually expect when they say 110%. My mental health has improved tremendously. I've spent 2 out of 5 workdays secretly writing my novel for the last 2 years and I've never been more respected and appreciated. Also--when you see glaring wasteful errors in the company's operating systems, say absolutely nothing! Embrace inefficiency. It is your friend in this capitalist hellscape.
@sparrow-va Seen a lot of people asking this and here's a starter-pack, which others have also added in the comments:
Start on day one. It's almost impossible to scale back if you started out giving 100% —it might be possible though, so don't give up hope.
If you can get away with it, 'waste' roughly half of your time. You can work on a personal project if IT won't clock you, or go for long walks if you can sneak out of the office. I walked 3-4 miles every day when I started my current job. I also walked to Barnes & Noble to sit on the floor and read comics. I've spent a few days just watching TikToks or Fall of Civilizations. If you have Work From Home days, buy a mouse jiggler! (Don't install mouse jiggler software, that shit's traceable.)
If you're still not sure, pay close attention to how much work your worst coworker is doing, and copy that. I bet you it will be 40-60% of what you feel you could easily do, especially if they are 50+.
Never finish anything immediately. If you want to get a project done, knock it out, and then set a reminder to send it at least 2-3 days later. I fuck this one up the most, if I'm honest, 'cause shocking people with how fast I can accomplish things is like a drug.
Remember!!!! Being the fastest and the best will get you NOTHING—except possibly the kind of attention that gets you abused and fired. Promotions for hard work are a myth. It's capitalist propaganda you MUST expunge from your brain. Aim to be the worker your manager expects, not the one they're impressed by—except in a social sense. I got a $2 raise for singing in 3 part harmony with my bosses once.
Survive.
Adding my office work tips here as a person actively making efforts to give less;
-If you've got your own computer/laptop and work from home, set your stuff up in a place you can either have both laptops or is next to your computer
-If you like reading and have a library card, check out your library's website and see what's available to read online, no one will look twice at you reading a wall of text
-Already past day one? Start slow, take an extra day to send an email, you can build up (a great way to start this is if you get new job responsibilities you can use that as a reason you can't do everything as fast as you used to)
-If it makes you anxious not to send an email right away, schedule a few times throughout the day that you're allowed to send emails at (I also have a personal rule not to include any emails written within 15 minutes of send time)
-Another email tip, if you have an email with questions, or you don't want to follow up on responses today, Gmail lets you schedule emails to send whenever you want in case you worry about forgetting
-Take a coffee break, even if you don't drink coffee, office people will forgive needing more caffeine as a reason you weren't available for a bit
-Google calendar lets you schedule "focus time" blocks, what this does is automatically rejects meetings scheduled over it, I currently have my entire Fridays blocked off so if I need focus time I have it, and if I don't I'm free all day unless I approve something getting scheduled then
-Still having a hard time? Make your own "motivational" posters. Mine say "you're too cool to give 100% at your job" and "fuck 'em." If you don't work from home you will have to get creative with phrasing to avoid getting in trouble, but honestly it has helped
(petting you gently and whispering in your ear) you’re so fucked. it’s over for you
someone tell OP i did it, i spent about 3 hours on it
