Have you ever downloaded something using Google Chrome only to have the download fail? If it fails during the download of a large file, it can a real time-waster and it can be stressful at other times. A little known trick is that you can use Firefox to resume and complete that download from where it left off. Follow these steps to salvage the failed download:
Re-open Chrome and copy the download URL, then paste it into Firefox.
As the download starts in Firefox, pause it, and navigate to the folder where you're downloading the Firefox file.
Copy the filename (without the .part extension) and delete the file.
Navigate to the folder where you downloaded the Chrome .crdownload file, and rename the original .crdownload file so that it matches the .part file (including the .part extension). Then, resume the download in Firefox. You'll see the download start at the point where it had stopped in Chrome.
