There are actual psychiatric rubrics and things for determining if a "persistent false belief" is a delusion (symptom of illness) or if it's just... a persistent false belief. If it's widely held by some in-group that the person belongs to (a religion, a political group, an online forum) then it's not generally a delusion.

Humans are really good at believing false things if the people around us are believing them too.

I just read that Donald Trump and his circus took down a website called reproductiverights.gov
