The Campaign 4 parties poorly described:
-Hal and the Gingers
-How Many Different Ways Can You Be Obsessed With One Dead Boy
-The Wizard of Oz (1939) and Peter Pan (1953) had a baby and it's killing people

@staff as a Tumblr user for the last 12+ years, the idea of reblogs turning to "Twitter/Bluesky-like" chains is repulsive beyond comprehension. Tumblr is a blogging website. What makes Tumblr unique is the reblog system, where users can reblog a post to their blog and others can do the same.
What's NOT unique is hiding reblogs behind separate "chains." That just makes navigating this site even worse. Not only that, but it kills engagement.
Listen to the users of this website and DO NOT consider implementing this update @staff
"What do you have in there?" 💀 Kudos to Occtis Tachonis for having the coolest description of Chill Touch ever💚
[id: art of occtis tachonis casting chill touch. the art focuses on his skeletal hand, drawn in neon green and white and reaching through a runic circle full of splatter marks out of the image and towards the viewer. occtis, to one side, is staring at us with a disconcerting, wide-eyed expression. end id.]
Actually so funny to me that the Seekers have an 800 year old war veteran elf, an experienced druid of an ancient path, and a battle tested soldier and commander, and they're all looking to a 20 college student who died last week for answers, because he can kind read fantasy Latin and his dad is the BBEG. And meanwhile said dead 20 yo college student is frantically waving his hands going "guys I was busy with my Cantrips 101 class and my dad doesn't talk to me anyways, I have no idea what the fuck is happening."
Sir Julien Davinos, if it pleases the court.
*draws cartoons like one of your live action movies*
i'm still and forever on that Kryn Drow Are Bug Elves train, so i absolutely had to redraw that beautiful shot with my version of kryn armor. totally headcanon that Essek is wearing one of his mama's suits by the way, specially enchanted to facilitate being used by squishy wizards i assume
tip jar!
Little spark
Julien Davinos gives me big "would akira slide across a battlefield if given the chance" vibes.
[id: art of sir julien davinos. he is drawn glaring at the viewer, low to the ground in a lunge with his sword drawn and his teeth bared. his cape swirls around him. he is in motion, having just slid down the length of a path which leads directly towards/past the viewer. track marks from his boots are visible, as are a set of grooves where his gauntlet has dug into the ground. it is still pressed against the path, with blue and yellow magic sparking at its fingertips, flaring in the grooves, and arcing up in the air. behind him, the background is blue and purple, with shadows similar to buildings or stones. end id.]
Hi! I was wondering (if you’d like to share), do you have a name for Dice & Larna’s pirate crew? Also, am I correct in assuming they’re co-captains? I really like your comics about them!
Heheh thank you! They’re the Snake Eye pirates.
To your 2nd question: Yes, but also no.
Dice is the captain. But Larna is the captain’s deeply respected older sister.
you hear the call of the nightingale vaelus!!! print club for november is C4 themed! you can join here!
God I’m so gay and predictable. Like “oh you’re kinda shipping Thaisha and Vaelus because they’re soul bonded and blaming each other for the (un)death of the same guy? Of course you are. Idiot. You thought it was kinda hot when Julien told Occtis, who he loathes, that he’s going to follow him everywhere from now on? Obviously you did, you freak.”
So Occtis is totally gonna use that big ass syringe to continuously embalm his own body to keep it from decaying, yeah?
I feel for Aabria rn, because she made a character who is a mother with strong maternal feelings, yes, but that is not all Thaisha is by a long shot, and already that's what people are reducing her to. Like yes, she is maternal and caring and amicable, and she's also a strong warrior and a natural leader and someone who had to leave her family behind for a time to go out into the world and try to fix it. Which is a story we see with male characters all the time, but the minute it's a woman people are calling her selfish, or presuming she feels guilty/ashamed for her choices, or ignoring that part of her character entirely. And in reality it's already been well established that she's acting out of a strong sense of duty to both the legacy of fighting oppression as a Lloy, and the responsibility to be a steward and protector of nature that comes from being a member of the Old Path, because those are a part of her identity as much as motherhood.
And I imagine Aabria anticipated this reaction to some degree, because this is how people are with female characters, especially black female characters (or in this case, maybe black-coded/character played by a black woman would be more accurate since she's an orc, not sure though), and she could've removed those aspects of her character to avoid it, but she stuck to it and I commend her for it because it's the kind of story we don't see so much and it's so worth telling.
So yes I love Thaisha's maternal side, and her relationship with her children, and the mother/son sort of dynamic she's got going on with Occtis, but I also love the conflict in her between wanting her loved ones near and her ambitions of fighting for/protecting the divinity in the balance of the world. I also love the way Aabria has steered the depiction of a druid away from just plants and animals and growth and towards earth and ore and death and decay, because these too are a part of nature, and they reflect her family history in such an interesting way. Can we talk about this stuff more? Pretty please?
