Dr. Alaa al-Najjar left her ten children at home on Friday when she went to work at the Nasser Medical Complex. Hours later, the bodies of s
Fucked as it is, he’s right: if you were in Gaza and desperate to die but your religion says it’s wrong to take your own life…becoming a journalist pretty much will guarantee your death.
Like, suicide by cop only this time it’s suicide by press vest.
Imagine making life so utterly miserable for entirely innocent children (children, who by the way, were not even born yet when Hamas was elected in 2005 and Hamas never held another election again.)
So miserable, that high schoolers are literally trying to find loopholes so they can be killed in cold blood and they don’t have to do it themselves.
I have seen horror films with less scary premises than this.
Makes the Saw franchise look like the Teletubbies.
Reminds me of the French 117 year old nun (at a point, the world’s oldest person) who kept drinking several glasses of wine a day and praying for death in her last few years.
But at least she was 117 years old. Not 14.
Western journalists right now:
Hmmm..., interesting idea you have there.
The newly freed sixteen-year-old Palestinian American shares his first account of 9½ months in Israeli military detention.
It is genuinely horrible what happened to these boys in that torture chamber.
Oh, one day they will make an Oscar winning movie film about it. I’m sure.
But by that point, it is too late. They’re all dead. Which was the point.
I feel bad for Mohammed Ibrahim. He’s only alive because he’s from Florida. And Florida Man survives all.
The horror of this.
If you're an American with a disability who receives government assistance, you likely qualify for an ABLE account, or you may starting next
The age of eligibility for an ABLE account, allowing USAmerican disabled people to save up money without losing their government assistance for having “too much,” is going to go up to cover disabilities diagnosed by age 46 (currently it’s age 26), meaning a much larger number of people will be able to access them. As the article notes, many Americans don’t know these accounts exist, let alone whether they or someone they care for could qualify for one, so please share this information around.
It seems to me it would obviously be better if the “no more than $2000 a month” limit were simply removed and disabled people could have whatever savings accounts they chose, but this is heaps better than nothing.
Effective as of January 1, 2026, eligibility has expanded to folks whose disabled diagnosis was established prior to turning 46 years old
About ABLE Accounts An ABLE account is a savings and / or investment option for people with disabilities who qualify. It falls under Section

Trump originally said the agents would be helping with passenger screening to help with lines (but, because he’s a racist, said that they would “arrest illegal immigrants… with a heavy emphasis on those from Somalia”). Instead border czar Homan said they’re there only for crowd control.
Airports across the country are seeing very long security lines because DHS has technically been under a government shutdown since the end of January. This means that “non-essential” personnel like TSA agents are not getting paid, while “essential” personnel like ICE agents (who have also been separately funded through the earlier OBBBA) are getting paid. The shutdown is continuing because Senate Democrats are refusing to fund DHS until ICE agrees to follow basic principles of the law (identifying themselves, requiring warrants to enter homes, etc).
[ID: Destiel meme, labeled "I love you" "ICE agents have been deployed to airports throughout the USA." End ID.]
The claim is not new — the Miami Herald published its findings in summer 2025.
source for the congresswoman thing as well, because i hadn't heard about that:
The Trump administration has repeatedly attempted to restrict or thwart congressmembers’ access to ICE jails.
I mostly like looking at insects but also have to live in the world.
If, like me, you are horrified and looking for ways to help, this recent article may be of interest:
ICE can’t function without help from the private sector. So we should force the private sector to stop helping.
If you are in the US and have any Democratic senators or representatives, it is critical to call them and demand that no spending bill be passed without reining in ICE abuses. Here are Robert Reich's key points on that:
Please call your representative and senators today and tell them not to vote for the DHS spending bill unless it (1) disarms ICE agents, (2) prevents them from targeting people based on their race, language, or accent, and (3) stipulates that agents who harm civilians are liable under criminal and civil laws. To reach your representative or senator, call the U.S. Congressional Switchboard at (202) 224-3121. Tell them the state and city where you live. They will connect you to any member’s office.
You can read the full article here:
What you can do to stop ICE’s mayhem
None of this feels like enough, but it is better than doing nothing. Being silent means consenting to what is happening now, and the even worse things that seem to be coming next.
Let this - January 2026 - be a turning point and not just another step down this hateful and immoral path.
Also, by the way, NVIDIA has explicitly stated it is in a partnership with Palantir.
I don't care how much you want your DLSS and your Frame Gen and your CUDA and all that shit. If you want your wallet to speak with sufficient volume, do not buy NVIDIA graphics cards! And get your company to stop buying NVIDIA AI equipment!
The "ceasefire" has not actually meant the cessation of Israelis firing on people across Gaza Strip. Israel has violated the supposed "ceasefire" over 1,520 times, and recent satellite images reveal multiple newly constructed Israeli military bases. They continue to injure and kill dozens of people every day, and are now engaging in large-scale demolitions of residential blocks in Gaza City and Khan Yunis.
Similarly, the "opening" of Rafah Crossing is not anything close to actually allowing Palestinians free movement to leave and return. Only those few people given prior authorization by Israel can cross, and even once they get through UN checks at the crossing, they must undergo "a second identification and control process in a designated corridor managed by the Israeli army in an area under its control."
My friend Mahmoud has been waiting for a long time for Rafah Crossing to open so that he can return to his sister @mahrahpalestine and the rest of his family in Gaza, but the crossing is not meaningfully open for them. He told me today, "We can't get my family out, and I can't even go back to them."
Even if he were permitted to cross, I would still fear for him deeply because everyone returning is completely at the mercy of the genocidal army currently bombing their people.
The three women who were allowed to return to Gaza through Rafah Crossing on Monday have been trying to share their experiences to warn others, because they were subjected to torture by Israelis. One of the women, Huda Abu Abed, described it as "a journey of horror, humiliation and oppression”
Another returnee, Umm Omar, recounted:
They took everything from us. Food, drinks, everything. Allowing us to keep only one bag. The Israeli army called my mother first and took her. Then they called me, and took me. They blindfolded me and covered my eyes. They interrogated me in the first tent, asking why I wanted to enter Gaza. I told them I wanted to see my children and return to my country. They tried to pressure me psychologically, wanted to separate me from my children and force me into exile. After questioning me there, they took me to a second tent and asked political questions, which had nothing to do with [the journey]… They told me I could be detained if I didn’t answer. After three hours of interrogation under threat, we finally went on the bus. The UN received us; then we headed to Nasser Hospital. Thank God we were reunited with our loved ones.
Mahmoud tells me that submitting to this, there is no guarantee you will ever actually make it back to your family. You could be permanently kidnapped, imprisoned, or killed. At best it will be a profoundly traumatizing experience.
"Everything remains the same; nothing has ended," Mahmoud texted me today. "Only the media has lost sight of Gaza."
This is the truth. The genocide is ongoing.
My wife, @cannilyuncanny hosts Mahmoud's family's GoFundMe campaign (which is vetted by @90-ghost and shared by fairuzfan). She transfers donations directly to Mahmoud's sister Mahrah (@mahrahpalestine) in Gaza.
They rely on these funds to afford supplies and nutritious food. If you can afford to, please donate to this family so they can survive and one day be reunited.
