More Sonia for today. And a bit more to come! It’s hard spacing it all out when I’m excited to be enjoying cosplay again! I love that my partner had the idea to grab one of my mom’s books off the shelf. She would’ve been proud that it’s Dr. Sleep. I still want to go to a library and get photos with a bunch of serial killer books but this is perfect for now!
This page hasn’t been active for a while and I wanted to let everyone know that I’m way more active on Twitter and Facebook. Just search up Sovereignflaw or Sovereignflaw Cosplay
Speaking of inclusion in photo shoots...My Dog!! We couldn’t get any serious photos but here he is enjoying a cookie!
I, too, can train Hellhounds.

I promised I would start including my mobility aids into more shoots so that other disabled cosplayers feel motivated! You can cosplay with a mobility aid and look great! I’m still not the most confident doing so but I want to build everyone up that I can!

HELLO FELLOW SHORT COSPLAYER!!! Would it be too much trouble to ask what shoe lifts you use and/or expand on your hidden heel process? Thank you!
This is stuff I’ve posted to my FACEBOOK PAGE before, but I’ll share it on here for you!
1. Use polyfill fiber to fill in the giant gap for heels, and hand sew on a bias-stripe of fabric to your boot cover so you can hide just how much extra height you’re packing.
2. Buy shoe lifts! (Can be called ‘heightening inserts’ or ‘shoe lifts’ or ‘shoe inserts’) You can get them from Ebay for $10-$20. I LOVE THESE THINGS. I started using them in 2009 and they work wonders. Especially if you want the slimming and heightening effect of heels but you don’t want footwear with a spike or platform heel (i.e. for female->male cosplay).
Ive wanted to cosplay this little shitlord since I was like 15. And finally- it has happened. So here's a makeup test that no one asked for. Please disregard my fat stomach.
Another BEAUTIFUL wig from @fastmelodicwigs this time #viktornikiforov from #yurionice Their work is absolutely amazing and I feel ten times more confident than I did before. If you’re in the market for a wig, HIT THEM UP. Base is a Blue Steele in Victory (or should it be Vikturi) Blonde from @ardawigs (Between Viktor and Apollo I finally like my large forehead..,) #cosplay #cosplaywig #cosplaycommission
Write up coming soon.
I just wanted to share this. A friend got it for me and it works really well. You just wet it down with cool water, squeeze it out some and hang it or hold it up for a minute. I over heat & get heat exhaustion way too easily so I always carry a mini fan with me at crowded events. I guess this will be added to my convention packing list! If you overheat easily or if you're just concerned because you're wearing a hot costume, especially in summer, Is recommend getting one. It's $5 at Walmart in sporting goods. Pros: stays cool/cold for literal hours Helps with my nausea & overheating Refreshing Cons: Can mildew Dries really stiff

http://ko-fi.com/sovereignflaw Hey y'all - I finally got around to setting up a ko-for page. This is just another tiny way to show support if you can't commission a wig or anything right now.
A sample of some of my more recent commission work.
Nona (Death Parade) Wig Tutorial
I’m going to attempt to write a tutorial for Nona from Death Parade. She’s a more obscure character and a lot of different techniques went into making this wig possible. While the finished product isn’t perfect, I strove to work with what my client had and create a beautiful piece I could be proud of.
supplies needed: Base wig (recommended: Jeannie in Powder Blue) 1-2 packs of Powder Blue Wefts thinning sheers hair cutting sheers clear elastic bands Aleene's clear tacky glue hair dryer hairspray a bit of stuff interfacing glue gun hot glue bobby pins small, clear bump-it comb & hairbrush separator clips T-pins Ponytail clip (if using imaldris) Wig head
The Base wig sent to me by my client was an Imaldris in Powder Blue (discontinued) from @ardawigs, which she had sewn wefts into so it could be pulled up into a ponytail without much cap showing. Again - for it may be easier for you to use a Jeannie. ALWAYS SECURE YOUR WIG WITH T-PINS
(Pictures from Client - wig before being styled by me)
The above wig was a lacefront which had difficulty wig the wefts adhering. I had to put down a bit of hot glue on the leftover netting for the hair to stick. For a Jeannie - this method is very useful: https://www.facebook.com/ArulithiaCosplay/videos/481985918662288/?autoplay_reason=all_page_organic_allowed&video_container_type=0&video_creator_product_type=2&app_id=2392950137&live_video_guests=0
Once you have removed the hair that you need to, Open your pack of wefts and brush them out. Carefully cut the wefts into about 1 inch sections and then cut off the stitching piece that holds them together.
I started the hairline on the above wig before deciding to build the widow’s peak down; I recommend making your widow’s peak first. To do so - cut a triangular bit of stiff interfacing - keep the top of this piece rounded. Measure where on the wig you want it to be and glue it in place.
Using a bit of wefts at a time, cover the ends in glue. I like to smear the glue back with my finger about an inch so it fully adheres. Hit it with low heat on your hairdryer for about 5 seconds so it gets tacky and carefully apply it to the hairline, starting farther back, closer to the existing hair. I started with the right side of the wig, then the left, and then the middle. Once you lay the glue-covered fibers (glue-side down) against the wig, I recommend placing a clip on the area and hitting it with high heat for about twenty seconds. If the clip is left on too long, it can cause little lumps of glue (these can be removed with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol).
Do not rush this process. Do one section, let it dry for a few hours; do another section; repeat. Keep bringing the wefts closer to the hairline until they create the desired look. This is also recommended for the widow’s peak.
(I do not have a finished photo of the widow’s peak and hairline aside from final looks).
Once the wig has completely dried (about a day’s time), comb out any excess wig fibers (I like to use a teasing comb as the teeth are closer together). Should any pieces on the hair line come loose, re-glue them and clamp them with the clips longer. Do touch-ups as needed. Once the glued hairline is finished -lift the layers of hair at the front of the wig and slide in the bump-it. (Pictured is one I made before changing my mind).
Separate the hair as much as possible to cover the bump-it and hairspray any fly-aways. Pin the bump-it in place with bobby pins (I recommend white if possible) & begin smoothing the hair back. I left a few sections out, clipping them in front of the wig and using them for the braids and side burns. From there, smooth the hair back into a tight ponytail, going as high as possible. (if using a Jeannie, leave the ponytail in place and just use a clear elastic to secure all of the added wefts.)
From there, I braided the pieces left down and clipped them back in the front. After securing the high ponytail, chop the base ponytail as short as possible - enough that it will still hold - and thin it as much as possible with thinning sheers. Wrap the braid pieces around the tiny base ponytail and use a clear elastic to secure them.
(The sideburns have already been trimmed here)
Trim the side burns and clip the ponytail into place, resting slightly atop the mini-pony. Braid it, starting a couple inches down.. Secure the braid. Use the hair from the clip-on that wasn’t braided and spread it out to cover what is still visible of the mini-pony.
Spray any fly-aways down and you’re done!
