And why do I think Seffie will win?
When asked by Krosp if Orotine's supporting either Tarvek or Martellus; she says "Martellus is a distance third at best".
Everyone knows Travel had the best claim.
So he was the first place.
He's the oldest surviving heir of his family, and the boy.
His older sister pre-deceased him.
For a while it looked like Gil could have been the second best choice.
Because both times the option of Gil being a storm king candidate is mentioned, it's with something else mutually exclusive that's turned out to be true instead. That Zeetha's his sister, and that he's a Martin prince.
And Orotine does give Gil advice, like she was created to do for the storm king.
But Gil even points out that she's done this because Tarvek asked her to. Not because he's really in the running.
(Also Zeetha and Gil having the same mum kinda ruled this possibly out.
She is a Queen but the Skifand royals aren't in the line for the lightning crown, and neither is their dad, Klaus).
So why can't it be Tarvek?

He's dead technically lol. The still moving about, and breathing thing doesn't count for succession rules.
And he's not the one who knows.
Agatha and Violetta know but would never say.
(Violetta is a cousin from Tarvek other side of the family).
Von Zinzer definitely knows, he shouldn't say, but it's possible he would on accident?🤷
Zola seems possible, but unlikely. She's shown as not near them when Agatha kills the castle then Tarvek; before both get brought back.
(Though she's sneaky and was nearby the original attempt).
But the biggy is that Klaus knows.
Gil tells him as about the the reanimation process as a way to try to explain his trust in Agatha and Tarvek.

It's even lampshades that Klaus always finds out when royal resurrects themselves. 🤦Yes, because some idiot had to go and blurt it out like a numpty, Gil.
Ok, so it not Gil, and he was never in the race.
And Martellus was still described only the 3rd option. (Krosp's also been giving Martellus the good advice, to give his claim to the crowd. Because it's killing all the the creatures who care about him, and he cares about).
And Tarvek isn't the first as he's now disqualified.
So why do I think Seffie is above her brother in the rankings?
Because the guy family nickname is Tweedle lol; and that's the nickname you give to the cousin you don't like, who's a twin😆.
Especially if you think their not the brightest bulb. Tarvek definitely thinks Martellus is both a prick and an idiot, but seems fine with Seffie.
Seffie appear to have been spared the other half of the nickname because of this.
Ok so if their twins; then boy should get it right? Cus same age, and he's the boy...
But their not anymore. Martellus is now two and half whole years younger.
Which is why Orotine even say that there's a debate over the rightfully heir.
She is the muse of geometry. As Gil says "basically Mathematics".
Lady muse had done the maths, and it no longer adds up easily, because now there's not a difference in ages between Tarvek and Seffie.
Which explains why pre time skip Tinka, Moxana and Otilia all accepted Tarvek. Now who knows.

See I got you. Travel was only in the line for the lighting crown through his mother.
In purely patrilineal system Tarvek would have never had a good claim. Most likely being passed over for Tweedle.
And Orotine tells Martellus he'll need much more than the support of two popes, and an army.
What a success heir needs is the support of the muses.
And she gives for both Tarvek and Seffie. (Even Tarvek asks if she's mind advising Gil in his stead).
Seffie's good claim is even the reason that Grandma is pushing soo hard, for Seffie to have a political marriage to Gil.
Even if Grandma's old fashioned attitude was telling her to step back from going for the crown directly.
What Seffie ultimatly needs is the muses backing, not the 50 families.
The world has shifted with Agatha and Colette ruling their own cities. It's no longer only Alba all alone in a boys club.
I think Colette is going to be one of the biggest power's Seffie corner, supporting her claim.
So yer Storm King and the Master of Paris. Cus aren't they an adorable power couple. 😁
