"Tutorial" on how to draw an OC with dwarfism (well, some of it).
Boring tired disclaimer: Keep in mind that this is an introductory "drawing" "tutorial" and has some generalizations in it, so not every āX is Zā statement will be true for Actual People. Which happens to be true for everything in general.
You are heavily encouraged to do your own research because this does not contain everything you should know before making a character with any type of dwarfism.
Consider supporting me on ko-fi if you find this to be helpful.
If (when) you repost this on pinterest at least put a link to the original post somewhere..
This is such an excellent resource for anyone looking to draw people with dwarfism!!
@saszor does a great job at laying out the different forms (there are actually over 500 types!) of dwarfism and and their specific characteristics!
never ask a woman her age a man his salary your mutual how late it is in her timezone when she starts posting about that bisexual man
can people stop saying insane things on this post

it sucks that the backrooms and by extent liminal spaces turned out the way they did in popular culture. i love dreamy places not because they're full of Scary Screatures or whatever but because they're fun and interesting and cool and a perfect place for a girl like me to lay her eggs
i could make a nest here it would be so good it's got the perfect amount of structural support for the strands of goo to connect up and hold together easily without collapsing and forming a cozy little den for me to sleep in. but all anyone cares about is booboo's playtime party friends
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but you are one of the Scary Screatures
i'm a cute girl and everyone loves me

Wild caught clownfish will be like āhm you see, the anemone you got me is a slightly different color and tentacle width than the one I had back home, so I will not begin hosting it. Iāll be a sort of wandering ronin for the rest of my days.ā And then a captive bred clownfish will be like āok so I have this curved rock I found and I just sit above it and it take care of me šā
Some of my favorite clownfish hosts

looking for animal references on image searches has always kind of sucked but it's much worse after AI image generation technology has begun to actually past muster, which is why i always just go straight to inaturalist. can't recommend this highly enough. you get to both find out about niche species you've never even heard of and also see some really good photographs like this one

I KNEW I had seen this exact same image before! Good old "Organisms On or Near Appropriate Signs" project.
oh that's a fun project. haven't seen this before. some good ones in here.
fun fact about character development by the way. you can make them develop worse.
like I mean this very seriously as writing advice. the character should experience events and make decisions that make them different at the end of the story. they should be changed. they do not have to be improved.
they can get worse. they can make decisions of an increasingly terrible nature. they can stop taking risks on kindness. they can discover how much they can get away with. they can find religion, or abandon it, with negative effects on their moral creed. the character has to develop. the character does not have to grow.
awesome picture how do i move on now from this moment

hyena positivity that focuses on spotted hyenas only is so fake. if you donāt love brown and striped hyenas then get out. if you donāt love aardwolves I canāt even look at you oh my god
oh shit wait you guys know about the aardwolf right?????? right???????
leeeeeetle hyena? eats bugs?
"it's ok to show (x) in fiction as long as the bad guy gets punished!" the bad guy doesn't have to get punished. in fact the bad guy can win altogether. the bad guy can entirely get away with it. hope this helps
and this part might make some people's head explode but: characters can be written to forgive things you personally wouldn't ever forgive. not everything is written as what you'd perceive to be the right choice. not everything is a self-insert & protagonists don't have to be relatable.
