I love how Jimmy Page is known as being notoriously bad at sharing songwriting credit and generally collaborating well with other artists…
Except when it comes to Robert. He really saw this pretty blond and IMMEDIATELY jumped at the opportunity to share songwriting credit with him just so he could see both their names written out prettily next to each other, look me in the eye and tell me it isn’t the equivalent of a giggling schoolgirl writing their name alongside their crush’s 500 times in a notebook (the notebook in this case being the music industry)
unfortunately I need to be pedantic, despite this pretty image, and say
Jimmy is weirdly good at sharing songwriting credits for a control freak, though not above occasional theft from older Black Blues artists - Jimmy's rep is of being hugely collaborative and will always give credit to other musicians.
he is very precious about producer credits and control and will get pissy about engineers being credited with creative control - going to the extent of swapping people out so they did not build up a reputation with Zeppelin's music
Robert was not credited on LZ first album until much later - allegedly because he was under contract to another contract but more because it was Jimmy and JPJ's project with Robert and JHB as employees, but JHB had a better deal because he had more experience and more kudos.
In Zeppelin Robert and Jimmy only share sole credit on Presence ... for reasons
I think in their Page/Plant projects lots of other ppl are credited iirc
Robert pretty much picked up this from Jimmy though his rep in the studio is of being much more the diva . Jimmy is usually just so into the process he has a rep of being very easy to work with.
